k. let me start from the beginning. for insurance, they will quote based on a few things.

1. Coverage - eg. Comprehensive, Third Party Fire & Theft and Third Party Only.

2. Bike Model - The cheapest being Paggio and the most expensive being Kawasaki.

3. Owner's age - The younger you are, the more expensive it gets. Even if you buy the bike under your dad's name, the insurance will still usually ba based on the youngest named rider - which is yourself.

4. Vehicle Capacity - The smaller the cc, the lesser you pay.

5. Riding Experience - The more riding experience you got, the cheaper it gets.

6. Vehicle Age - The older the bike, the lesser your insurance.

7. Claims - Insurance companies will load on your premium if you have got claims and the amount they load will depend on your claims amount.

8. NCD - Known as the No Claims Discount, you start with 0% on the 1st yr and you start earning 5% after the 1st yr with 20% being the maximum for bikes. You'll get this discount only if you do not have any claim for the one full yr with the insurance company and if you have even only one claim, it can cost your NCD to drop from 20% to 0% immediately.

There, the 8 things that affects your insurance premium.:thumb:

First year you'll start with 0%. You'll only gain the 5% NCD the 2nd yr you're insured. Thats what we call 5% NCD upon renewal.
