meng tong is located at looi's and the machine they use to run is factory pro not dynojet machine..

meng tong hav to tune yr bike using the pc setting and manual setting while unity use wholly on pc settings..

Hi.. I was tempted to buy a 2nd 929. Any local reviews from u guys? Like fuel consumption? Is the engine still good for a abt 5 yrs old bike? Tks..

The engine will last a long time, provided the previous owner does proper routine maintenance (change oil, filters, do valve clearances, change coolant etc).

But take care to check out the wirings and sensors. Failure is not uncommon in old bikes (or any old bike for that matter).

Face it. Any class 2 sports bike is never going to be fuel efficient. 929's typically get about 17km/L.

Past: KDX200, LC4 400, LC4 620, GSXR750WR

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

went to a few bike shops last Saturday, saw a few units 929, now the price is really depreciated vy much.

It's a bit difficult to check the previous maintenance record/ history if buying from bike shop, some of the bikes had been tortured in track, accident.. that will be worst..

Basically, the engine will have not much problem, but the electrical parts, such coil, FI performance may sometimes have issues

Thanks for all the feedback bros.. 17km/litre is good enough for me(compared to all my previous bike). Yes wiring, I hate it. Hate electric stuff. Have read abt the FI light blinking during riding from some owner of 929 and blackbird. and for the BB it seems its the dont know wat computer chip spoil and got to replace which cost 1k+. Anyway is it advisible to get a 929 now? it seems the cheapest bike ard.. tks

The 929 is a truely underated bike. It handles beautifully, powerful enough (for me at least) for track, comfortable to ride. And it's a Honda.

The only problem I can see is that it's not as fierce looking as R1, nor produces as much horses as the rest of the litre bikes. But seriously, do you need every ounce of horsepower? I seriously doubt the missing few horses will make my lap times any faster.

Can't speak for the rest, but I prefer smooth tractable power compared to a suddenly top-end rush any day. Makes it much easier to go fast on the tracks.

Wiring and electronic problems will be present in all older bikes, be it an R1 or K1,2,3 etc.

When buying second hand, make sure that recalls have been done (longer fuel hose, improved clutch basket and clutch actuator rod).

tank wise is the same..

18 litres tank..

900, 919, 929, 954..

this sequence is the bike from old to new..

from 929 onwards, is fuel injector..

919 and below is carb..

900 cost abt 3k while 929 cost abt 4k, 929 6k, 954 11k..

juz a rough guide..
