y pple keen 2 choose 900cc bike instead of 1kcc ?? isit outlooks or individual likes? can tell me y u all 929/954 riders not think or taking 1000cc ?? ^-^

 

will 954 price drop alot each yrs? wat 2 look out 4 when buy 954 from tiam?

 

any maintainence problems can name out (eg: engine, brakes, suspension)

do they give major problem which make your pockets torn.... ^-^

Because I:

 

- don't think 1000cc will make me go faster round the track.

- prefer smooth, tractable, controllable power vs huge topend rush

- don't need the latest/fastest/fiercest 1000cc sports bike

- don't mind not winning traffic lights grand prix

- don't need nor want to keep up with with speed freaks who travel at 300km/h on NSHW

 

Today's greatest and fastest will be tomorrow's slowest and obsolete. So are you going to keep changing bikes every year or 2 to own the latest and fastest?

 

If you are concerned with resale value, I suggest getting a Harley. All sports bikes have bad resale values.

 

As to problems and maintenance, all makes of sports bikes will have problems if not maintained properly. 929/954 are as reliable as they get.

Posting on behalf of my dad. Anyone has any ideas how much to repair the CBR929 suspension? or how much for a new one or second hand one? the suspension oil seal is leaking, thus, very soft when cornering n along rocky roads. A million thanks for any valuable advises imposed. :sweat:

Is it the forks or shock that's leaking? You can try bikelab to service the suspension. Good workmanship.

Thank you so much.. the rear shock one. but do u think it s more practical to change to a new one or just repair/service it.. it s not very critical from the way i look at it..

if the bike intend to ride for long like 3 yrs y not buy a new or better suspension coz wat u r talking now is bike not car bike 2 wheels car 4 wheels. if the bike intend to ride maybe 1 yr like that or less juz get it repair lor. To me i will try to fix watever problem i can on the bike coz to me it will helps when u need it suddenly. To me i dun mind spend a little more on better stuff not becoz i rich or wat to me i juz dun mind spend a little more lor. :smile:

Only the owner can decide how much he wants to spend on the bike. If he's just using to get from point A to point B, then it's not top priority to get the bike in tip top condition.

 

But since I use the bike for track, I make sure each component is at the best possible condition. If my bike's shock is leaking, I would take the opportunity to get an aftermrket shock, rather than spending a few hundred dollars to service a mediocre stock shock.

 

But, to each his own.

Hi...I just know there is a Repsol CBR954 in Ever Br_ght. It used to belong to my friend who is the 2nd owner. This bike, my friend always pull wheelie...quite rough in condition. As for the 1st owner...I heard die liao. Dun noe know true!!

Hi Aalex82, it's really amazing tat ur 929 can reach 147hp. May I know wat is price of Arrow Full Titamiun System?? Is full Arrow legal?? Come wif attachable silencer? Or any lobang for legal, attachable silencer aftermarket full system?? I think of changing mine full Yoshi (legal). Dun really increase power using Yoshi Tri Over system. Btw, Mine is a CBR954. Hai~~~Missing my M4 system. It really fetch me lots of extra horse.

Hi...seen a magazine where a CBR954 rider wif a aftermarket pipe send his CBR954 to tune or remap his ECU. He asking RACETECH to do it. He claim tat tuning the stock ECU is more potent then using PC. But last time, I ask Meng Tong to tune my 954 ECU, he told me only CBR1000 and onwards can be done. Coz CBR1000 come wif a HRC CD rom which he show it to me. So...I disappointed...and thought CBR954 can't be done. But after reading this particuler article from Sport Rider Magazine...I feel awake liao. So, anyone can verified this?? Can stock ECU be tuned according to my bike?? Is it really more potent as wat the magazine state??

i oso dun quite believe it..

that y i ask for stock horse..

mine is arrow full titamiun..

mine is legal wif a detachable silencer..

yr is yoshi tri oval wif catylser inside..

that y the horse increase not so much even thou yrs is full system..

yr restriction can onli be taken out by illegally get rid of the catylser.

i still remember yr header is mount by mi and chong.. :smile:

a few days ago saw yr bike at blk 409(yishun) when i fetch my gf to toilet..

Everyone tinks dat Honda's 900 series are old and nt so powerful compared to other makes... Sad to say, its another power issue... And wads even sadder, there's a lot of ppl who do nt even know 954 exists... Argh~

 

And wads more, modern bikes' outlook is much more sleek and fierce, plus the technology packed into the machine, ppl rather choose the 1K series...

 

Btw, If i'm nt wrong, the price of a 954 drops by ard $2K a year...
