personally, i would prefer not to do anything to my new ride for the first 3 to 6 months... during this period, ride the bike and feel the bike. blend urself to match ur new bike. by then, see wat u think u need to change or install be it internal or external. if u install everything asap, you wont get to feel the difference as u dun even feel how ur bike performs....

personally, i did in this way... (inside first)

-K&N air filter (after 3 months)

-Dynojet + tuning (after 5 months)

-Yoshimura End Can with re-tuning of Dynojet (after 1 year)

-Grounding (after 15 months)

-Voltage Stabliser (after 18 months)

-followed by external add ons and accessories....

as u can see, everything is in the above list is installed over some period of time. this way, i can feel the individual performance improvement...

my 2 cents...

1st, i would recommand steel braided brake hoses, then if possible, handling parts like fork braces, steering damper. follow up will b suspension setup. stock setup is way too soft for aggressive rider. better gripped tires r oso recommand.

2nd will b power up items like exhaust, dynojet, filter etc.

3rd n last, cosmetics...

y in this sequence? brakes n handling parts r the most important parts compared to power up parts. a powerful bike with lousy brakes n suspensions n tyre used for 18 months, compared to powerful brakes, modified suspension n better grip tyres but almost stock engine condition, which bike is better? u decide.

I second to this..

brakelines are normally my first to buy accessories for all my bikes..

then would be the exhaust..

after that maybe depending on budget, do the bike up part by part..

enjoy the process of modding..!!

there is no standard suspension setup for any bike. its up to the rider. some like soft some like hard. u might wanna try bikelab for ur suspension setting. of cos things dun comes cheap.

for ur 7 mths old spec 3, u might wanna adjust the preload setting 1st b4 deciding on servicing then enhance the suspension setup?

Personally, I felt that modify a bike is not that important.. For me, Getting the wear and tear items fixed up 1st.. If u modify here and there but never fixed up the wear and tear parts, u'll see ur bike in the workshop more than u ride it... Just my personal point of view..

looking at the posts above, everyone has their own preference of modding their bikes. no right or wrong. most importantly, jus do as you like and be happy...

a stock bike is made to be meeting the required standards to be used on the road. modding is to make it perform better than standard requirements.

Devastator, i think u shd rearrange the poll system.

engine performance parts ie air filter, dynojet, spark plugs, exhaust, voltage stabiliser...

bike safety n handling features ie steel brake hose, steering damper, suspension setting...

cosmetics ie belly pan, rear hugger, headlamp modification, shrouds...

haha.. i did spent a bit on changing the wear and tear parts.. but if 2nd hand from shop, can always go back to request if the part is really worn out.. i got myself new clutch plates and EO, with new crashbars when i got my 7yr old Vtec1..

after 3 months of riding, did a top overhaul and changed most of the engine items ($700)..

just like skateboy's signature:

Love your bike, your bike will love you back.

my now 8yr old vtec1 only failed me once recently.. as i'm trying mileage, die KMs before i can reach the petrol station..

Windshield, exhaust, belly pan are the top three items that S4 riders will get..

not inclusive of box..
