Hi ppls can i just ask wat will happen to u if you drink & ride than u got into an accident due to self skidd in the early morning 2-3am. You self admitted to hospital and warded in as well. You reported to the police self skidd due to sandy road but not drink riding. The doctor told ur blood test only on the same day in the afternoon 3pm. IO from TP HQ called you and ask u abt the case but due to u r unable go to TP HQ, IO told u once u recover then report back to them. In this case do they know that is this a drink riding case or they will really believe is a seld skidd case.

If got alcohol in the blood, even if below the limit, can also be charge with drink driving.

 

But if the blood for the blood test was taken at 3pm, and the accident was 3am (12hours ago) it is unlikely that there will be any alcohol left in the blood stream. So quite safe, unless you have been drinking so heavily that even after 12 hours, there is still alcohol in the blood.

In every-sense, are you still drunk while posting this thread? It certainly took me a while before i could digest what you were trying to put across man.

 

Well i dont mean to be anal but by drinking and riding, and because of that you skidded, arent you asking for it ?

 

Anyway, unless ur blood test still contains alcohol, i doubt you'll be turned over to the police for drink driving investigations. However, it is known that alcohol will stay in your bloodstream for more than 12 hours, so please do count your horses and hope that the blood test does not contain alcohol.

 

However, if the blood-test showed negative alcohol content, i believe the police cannot have you up for drink riding but might instead give a charge for reckless riding instead.

 

ps - the reckless riding offence part is derived based on the investigations and analysist of your statement and the medical report.

If the person in the scenario above is you (it seems that you have an affinity with ice cold beer), I hope you've learnt a very important lesson. I shall not speculate on whether you'll be charged or not, but do reflect that in your moment of folly, you could have killed yourself, or horribly, someone else for that matter.

1st when u self-skip , u ownself go to hospital for checkup or fetch by ambulance? if it ownself go hospital , u can say after accident that time u went for drinking , then after drinking u feel the pain, u took a cab for checkup

The person have learn a painful and ex lesson. He have fully understand how important is life. I bet ppls who commented this post or have read it do drink and ride but is just how much u drink only.

recently a colleague of mine was cycling his bicycle along serangoon road on a non busy weekday. Bearing in mind the double yellow line,he cycle in between the gap to avoid traffic.

 

His statement:

 

He heard a loud screeching sound and *BANG* he was hit by a motorcycle. Badly injured he cried in pain and passer by came in to help. I went there after receiving his call and i saw a sportbike *not mentioning the model* lying at the right lane with my friend's bike underneath it. Tyre rim bend into half. I pity my friend as he's a foreign worker and was at total lost when i speak to him.

 

When I talk to the rider,i smell strong alcohol smell. I suspected she was drinking before the self skidding that lead into this incident. Asked her what actually happen,she told me that a car hit her resulting into the impact and throwing her into my friend's path.

 

Lucky indeed there was a kind driver which stopped and gave a witness statement. Approached him and asked what actually happen, he told me that the rider was at fault. There was no car involve in this incident.She made up a story.

 

This is another case of drink riding. Which lead to my colleague's injury..What if it's a death?? Despite having a week MC, he has to go to work with those injury. Foreign worker which really need money have no way to relax but to create more dough for family suffering back in their country.

 

Please do remember,if you drink you're inflicting a threat to all road user.Please stay off the road when you know you should.

Of cause that is VERY BOLD OF ME TO SAY THAT,I am not saying all rider do drink and ride / drive but i am just saying that this person who have an accident do know the he/she is at faults so what right do u guys have to give such a strong comment about the mistake. It's just a simple post abt a normal police case now it become a personal thing. Everyone have the right to say wat they like but maybe not nice comment keep among urself & ur frens.

Sn0w_MaN. Majority of the forumers here or any other road users does not agree to the habit of drink riding/driving. Again drink riding/driving is a big NO!

MOST OF the forumers here dun drink n ride. Coz SBF has been tryin to educate us on many issues including drink riding. So we wun make a mistake like dat.

 

 

As for ur frend, ermm...Since d blood test was done way later.. if he is lucky & consumed little alcohol, then im sure the blood test will reveal no signs of alocohol coz very little alcohol content wil be left in d blood. if HIS luck is bad then ther wil be more than 80mg of alcohol left n he can be charged.

 

Watever it is, it doesnt matter self skid or wat, as long as d level is above d safe level, then he can be charged for drink riding.

 

 

Hope he gets through it & since he learnt his lesson, lets all learn frm his lesson aso.

Hey, i will like to ask the TS that since that guy is able to go to hospital himself, the injury probably is not that serious then can't he hide the fact that he got into a self-skidded accident and tell the hospital staffs a c o c k and bull story instead??? say fall down from bicycle or something.

 

BTW, issit an offence to drink and cycle on the road??

i drove him to the hospital, he dislocated his right shoulder and fursctured his leg. His helmet was with him of cause no way to run from it and his bike still at the accident place. Got ppls call police liao but it came after we left.
