The weekend Johore Circuit 6 years ago particularly Sunday morning used to be a congregation for faster riders. Customers who patronise the circuit are generally classified as the faster riders. Doing 1:50s considered as a mediocre rider is a very common sight in the track during those times. However as time passes by, the slower riders start to flock into the circuit on weekends. This however doesn't affect the old timers as the faster riders simply overtake the slower ones. But amongst these slower riders, there're those who boast of timings they've yet to achieve. They however did not come for the sake of tasting the track like Marcus. This particular group of people have come to get themselves passed off as the faster weekend riders. With such a mentality, these people often let their swollen pride burst out in stupor. Insisting to 'lead' when they obviously have no capacity to do it. While some pit themselves against the faster riders in order to learn, some did it in order to be branded 'fast' when obviously they aren't. One of the local MSS qualified racer call these 'handgun riders'. When a group of seasoned riders pit against each other with cut throat competitive maneuvers between 1:35 to 1:55 in PG, accidents are rare sights. However with the handgun riders, crashes are common sights even when they are merely doing more than 2 minutes! This group often get themselves or others into accidents which eventually led to claim the 1st innocent casualty recently.

 

As it will be impossible to keep away these handgun riders, I'd definately not mind paying twice the rate to secure a much safer environment. With a properly set up management team to flag off reckless stuntmen off the track & carry out efficient casualty evacuation. This money will be well spent.

 

With evidences showing the Singaporean government displaying explicit keen interests to enter the motorsports industry, the Johor Circuit Management must acknowledge that their much monopolized industry in the vicinity will be short-lived. Keep up or be kept out. Marcus will not sacrifice in vain.

 

the point here is not the gixxer been a slow rider, in fact he completed earlier than Marcus, i hope that you are not trying to discriminate slow riders, its not about lap timings etc, its all about bad track discipline on the gixxer part, so wat do u propose? those >2.00 not allowed into track on track days?

I think there should be a simple solution to this problem. There should be a briefing to all new riders to the track by Syed. 10 -15 mins. Because sometimes the newbies don't ask the seniors for guidance. Then maybe Syed can ask those seasoned riders to show the new ones a few laps to show basic lining so that newbies don't try to take the chicane from the inside. Just saw a newbie do that today and nearly crashed with a guy from the outside. After that i showed him around the track for a few rounds, cos if you don't show him , he will learn it the hard way. So many times seen crash at BWM because someone overtake from the inside when there is a rider taking the same corner from the outside.

Just hope more seasoned riders here, can be helpful and show these guys around the track to make it a safer place for yourself and for him. You don't have to be fast to teach so as long as you are teaching the correct basics.
