There is a comprehensive thread for FAQs about the Revo here

I'm not sure why you ask about the power-cut. The Revo red-lines at 13,000rpm. I personally would not want to rev my bike beyond the red-line because doing so on a regular basis would over-stress the engine beyond the levels that Honda intended it to perform at.

No offense intended, but my personal view is that if you want more power/speed than what the Revo can provide, get a bigger cc and thus more powerful bike. I've seen far too many people mod-ding their bikes so they can "go faster" and end up spending tons of money subsequently in repairing the bikes. Worse case scenarios are those who stretch their bikes beyond the limits and they end up 6 feet under ground...

Edit: by the way, I'm not against extracting the best from our bikes. I'm just saying do it with caution and within limits. Racewerks has done some good work on the Revo. Do look up their thread in the Advertisers' Section to see what's possible.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

What is said here is very true indeed..regardless wheather its a Revo or just any bike.

For some who uses fuel injection and ignition timing adjustment unit that plugs "inline" with the stock ECU for better performance...like making 'modifying' the bikes fuel and ignition curves and oso offering a large area of adjustment without making any permanent changes to the bikes' ECU..also have to take note that the matrial stress use on the bike is 'limited' apart from what the factory setting. One has to take into account the coolant system cooling is designed for also as better performance will generate more heat. While such performance enhancement product has their perks..it has its cons too on the reliability of a factory setup stock bike...so proceed with care.

Stupid Hurts!.:giddy:Speed doesn't kill, mistakes does :faint:

Can use semi-synthetic because you'd want to change oil and filter at 1,000km after full run-in.

At 1,000km use fully synthetic 0W-40 or 10W-40 because engine is new and still tight. Typically, you can stick to 40 weight oil for sometime; 40-60k mileage. If there is no unusual wear of the pistons and rings, 40 weight oil is still applicable beyond 60k.

Honda recommends next oil change at 10,000km. Depending on the quality of oil you use and your riding habits, adjust the change interval accordingly.

so u meant at 500km change oil,so after i clock1000 i can ride as per normal above 80km speed?thanks bro

Speed is only one factor and should not be used as a guide for run-in. This is because different capacity bikes will achieve different speeds at any given engine RPM and gear position.

My view is that engine speed (RPM) is the more importantly criteria for proper run-in. Heat cycles is another important factor. Do not go on long rides during run in. Typically run for half hour or so and making regular gear changes during the ride to vary the RPM. Then park and let the engine cool down before going for another ride.

Note on RPMs: Gradually increase RPM as you increase the mileage. E.g. First 50-100km, limit revs to max 4,000rpm. Next 100km, increase to 5,000-5,500rpm and so on.

Some bikers find it convenient to book a "hard run-in" session, which is done on a dyno. Run-in can be completed in 2 sessions or about 3 hours. Check with the workshops for costs (usually include oil change).

Do google motorcycle run-in or break-in for more info.

Have been to Boon Siew Honda on the 26th, the mechanic said might be ECU problem. Estimate repair abt $3K+ !!!

hi just want to share my view. revo is using EFI, therfore there are numbers of sensor and ECU read all the sensors to control the system. i think is too fast to conclude that ECU is the

problem, maybe is one of the sensor that feed the signal to the ECU having problem. Ask someone you can trust to check for u. I do believe ECU dont fail so easily. good luck. pls share once your problem is solved.

follow the running-in method by the manual for normal run-in bro.

ramsnake has answered ur question :)

Honda recommends next oil change at 10,000km. Depending on the quality of oil you use and your riding habits, adjust the change interval accordingly.

just to share from my experience, 500km change semi eo & filter, 1500km change semi eo, 3000km change fully eo & filter.

Subsequently every 3000-60000km depending on using semi or fully EO.

For hard break-in is first 300km change EO & filter, the rest same as above.

If normal running-in, best follow the manual.
