Hi ah pek,my revo have misfiring problem.already change spark plug and problem not solve..spark plug cable ok and coil also ok..I suspect maybe the injector spray fuel not working properly. Anything else could be fault such as TPS sensor?

The possibilities are many as far as ECU bike are concern...from sensors..wiring conditions to even the ECU itself. It'shard to nail the fault on the head unless you can get a service motorcycle shop that uses a REVO special test machine that traces faulty components of that particular bike model base on firmware. For now..you can only guess. If lately..you had not used any additive in fuel, modified your exhaust or installed anything that is of excessive electrical load..my guess is that go have your body throttle cleanse. If have to find a mech that knows a Revo to do this or someone familiar with fuel injection designed vechicles.

The spark plug being black means too rich as such fuel drowns the firing on/off and causes misfiring..malfunction like that can be caused by truncated info to ECU from sensors due to bad cable data transfer, bad sensors itself or even wrong ECU computation which controls the mechanics of the injector..or could just be simply all is ok but the injectors may be partially clogged which can retard or give sudden burst of excessive fuel to the combustion chamber. again..it's hard to tell. The best is to start what it has to do with fuel to the chamber..like using injector cleaner that mixes with fuel or do a throttle body cleaning. No..I don't own a Revo or has the workshop manual.

Is the air filter clean & not blocked, it sits under the fuel tank. Anything/residue in the drain at the bottom of the air box? Have you tried adding a fuel injection cleaner to the fuel, available at most motor shops. Is the automatic choke working? If this fails it starts to get very expensive, a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor 37830-MEL-003 is around US $170.00.

I already drain the air box bottom nothing go out..air filter is fine..before this i put injector cleaner in the tank and it seem nothing improve..where is diagnosis socket for revo?is it the red cap socket with 4 pin?and how to jump the wire?becoz its look like a honda car diagnostic socket..bypass and its blinking to show trouble code.

If this happened to car engine i would say it MAP sensor problem and TPS..but im not sure about revo..i couldnt afford trial and error becoz this sensor quit expensive and hard to find esp in malaysia..anyway thanx bro for advice.apreciate a lot

Yes the DTC is the red 4 pin connector, I think the cables are colored Brown - Green

This allows the MIL dash lamp to flash error codes. Let me know the code (if any) and I'll translate it from the Honda table.

Ok.2 blinking fast.8 blinking fast.1 blinking slow 2 fast.1slow 3fast.1slow 5fast.

• The MIL has two types of blinks, a long blink and short blink. The

long blinking lasts for 1.3 seconds, the short blinking lasts for 0.5

seconds. One long blink is the equivalent of ten short blinks. For

example, when two long blinks are followed by five short blinks, the

MIL is 25 (two long blinks = 20 blinks, plus five short blinks).

• When the ECM stores more than one DTC, the MIL will indicate

them by blinking in the order from the lowest number to highest

number.

I think it translates to - MAP sensor hose connection, TPS circuit, No.1, No. 2, No.4 injectors however here's the table, hope it is legible?

Do let us all know your further investigations/conclusions.

How much is the price for MAP and TPS?

Sent from my ASUS_T00J using Tapatalk

For cheaper parts have a search here http://auctions.isibike.com/?catId=0&freeWord=NC42

TP Sensor appears to be part of Complete throttle body assy 16400-MFM-013 around US $2,000....wow!

MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor 37830-MEL-003 is around US $170 - quite a common part, same as Fireblade and others

What about the IACV (Idle air control valve) could it be stuck in the wrong position?

Damn! So expensive.where is IACV located?is it with 3 hose connected?

It is mounted in the middle of the throttle body

Checks you may make:-

1. MAP Sensor Output Line Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the MAP sensor 3P (Black) connector.

Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop

switch " Run".

Measure the voltage at the wire harness side terminals.

CONNECTION: Light green/yellow (+) – Green/

orange (–)

Is the voltage within 2.7 – 3.1 V?

YES – Faulty MAP sensor

NO – • Open circuit in Light green/yellow

wire

• Open circuit in Green/orange wire

2. MAP Sensor Input Voltage Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the MAP sensor 3P (Black) connector.

Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop

switch "Run ".

Measure the voltage at the wire harness side terminal.

CONNECTION: Yellow/red (+) – Ground (–)

Is the voltage within 4.75 – 5.25 V?

YES – GO TO STEP 4.

NO – GO TO STEP 5.

4. MAP Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Disconnect the ECM 33P (Black) connector.

Check for continuity between the MAP sensor 3P

(Black) connector terminal of the wire harness

side and ground.

CONNECTION: Light green/yellow – Ground

Is there continuity?

YES – Short circuit in Light green/yellow wire

NO – Faulty MAP sensor

5. MAP Sensor Input Line Inspection

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Connect the ECM test harness to ECM connectors

(page 6-14).

Check the continuity at the Yellow/red wire

between the MAP sensor 3P (Black) connector

terminal and test harness terminal.

CONNECTION: A9 – Yellow/red

Is there continuity?

YES – Replace the ECM with a known good

one, and recheck

NO – Open circuit in Yellow/red wire
