Maybe you could get a second hand bike and use temp for maybe 3-6 month before deciding to buy a spec 3 or revo. And if possible try to drag the installment as long as possible as only a temp bike.. my 2 cents worth.

Vtec also different, it not only depends on the rpm to open, but also the angle of your throttle! meaning if u open throttle gently even hit vtec rpm it still won't open, only when u wack then it will open,,,,,think that will also save bit on petrol during highway crusing

If you interested in VTec Revo, just wait lor. Should be in the 2nd/3rd Quarter of this year. Exact date dunno. If cannot wait, itchy backside, juz get the current model. Prepare to fork out a lot since very new bike model, estimated to be around $14k machine price. That was what one bike shop quote me last time....they say $12.5k (for current spec III) + $1.5k = $14k.

With ABS confirm they chop you more hehehhe. Anyway good luck. Any choice you make is a good one.

Hahah Inverted forks will cost a bomb to install. Would you want to pay maybe $2k more for the inverted forks? Anyway those rich, can always replace with inverted forks once the bike is out.

Missing my Super 4 Bold'Or FBA1859D always... (22nd Feb 2006 ~ 17th Feb 2009)

I saw the 2 Revos as well at Looi today as well, one black and one blue. Both are the round lamp version and comes with ABS. I noticed that the brakes are 6 pots, slightly bigger in dimension than the normal nissin. The exhaust is 1 whole piece from header to muffler, at the belly botton there is a buldge, highly is a catalytic convertor which means power restricted so as to reduce emission. Physical dimension of the muffler is bigger than previous versions. Handlebar controls are exactly the same, but meter got 2 more indicator lamps, can't remember what are the extra 2 but definately not vtec indicator lamp. Other than the colour of the engine block being silver, there rest of the stuff are the same as the spec 3.

As for the price, the uncle told me both of them are still available for sale! but going for $14k+ otr... if want the bol d'or edition or the multi colour paintwork must wait till May and also more expensive! :giddy:

In my opinion, luckily I didn't wait for the Revo and bought the spec 3:

1) So expensive. For this kind of price, I would highly choose Fazer 6 with the half fairing at $15k otr. Got digital speedo somemore.

2) I have compared the paper specs from Honda Japan, both spec 3 and revo power output are the same, vtec crossover point also same. Fuel mileage may be better for Revo, but not justified to pay the high premium for it. Probably you will get 30-50km more per tank of petrol, but you can also achieve better mileage on the carbrettor version by changing the jets and good tuning at about $350+-.

3) Local workshops are still more familiar to carbrettor fueling system, in comparison to fuel injection system.

4) Change exhaust must change full system, no end can setups available unless you chop the stock exhaust.

5) 6 pots brakes means more prone to theft. Think of the current Brembo problem on the Version S you will get what I mean.

6) New Spec 3 should be cheaper now since they are clearing stock for the Revo, another plus point to buy Spec 3.

Anyway the above is just my point of view, no hard feelings to potential Revo buyers ya. Anyway Super 4 is a good bike, whatever version it is. :thumb:

It looks like a combo of both Spec3 n PB1... Looking gud with new exhaust.

Hmmm...revo?..lots of goodies missiing leh..like some say, inverted forks, monoshock, non digital meter...etc..and a lot of same same of the Vtec III. See the only attraction is Honda PGM and ABS (in hokkien..."Auntchua-Boe-Stop"). Only advantage of ABS is hard braking on curves and especially wet road. My first CBX400 in the old days got that..well, may be today ABS are better.

For those who are class 2...should check out the Suzuki new 1300cc(I think..or iszit 1235cc)..damn machine have everything an updated rider want and is only at $15K. First ever Suzuki that sound a bit like SF..helluvah nice bike. of course preferrably for keeps..forget about bad resale value...find it a real "head turner"! Spoke to three of the owners and each love it so much...but then again..its hear say..but look wise...Wah_Lau!..see my SF also shy arh!
