Thank you all for the good support...I thought this will be a last min thing, and probably turnout won't be that good, but never did I expected the turnout to be so good...It has been really a long time since I see so many of the ESR guys....thanks for the support....

I dun really noe about DSLRs. most prob i buy liao will juz use the simple mode (if any) and auto focus. hee....

Hello Keong not sure if 40D is cheap why not join us this Sunday Spyker also getting a DSLR on the last day hoping to get a good deal. Why not consider the Canon 1000D and save the $900 to buy a good lens since u jus use the simple mode? Meet us we discuss toge? Spyker having a headache since yesterday thinking of which camera to get. We saw some good bundles from Sony and Olympus DSLR as well. Join us!

I think you should buy a lower end dslr body and spend the extra $$ on a very good lens.. if use simple mode, a kit lens will do just fine for the moment. Then next time when u are more familiar with the manual modes, you can invest in a good lens!

 

After yesterday's walkabout, if I dun have a dslr, I would definitely get a 1000D. But then again Arse and Zai already have them. So I might go for a D60 instead.

 

And Mag, the full frame body with prime lens we tested was so oh!!!... The pic quality was superb!! but heavy on the pocket lah..

 

Nvm bah.. i am contented with what I have now.. haven't finished exploring it yet oso.. So when wanna go Marina Barrage in the evening for some shooting?

juz went IT fair recce again. initialy thot it was a clear cut decision. go for canon coz i juz love big cannons but found out from the other customers there dat sony and nikon are also comparable and each are good in a unique way. they made reference to duno wat club-snap forum or something liddat and said dat the nikon D90, canon 40D and sony alpha350 are highly recommended. then there are some who also said u guys said abt getting cheap body 1st and spend more on lens coz lens value more stable n can keep n use on the next body i buy. body price on the other hand, drops at free falling speed....

Yup i agree outside shops might fetch a better price. But they might not throw in that much things but then again does all those things they throw in worth that few hundred dollars?? Sometimes i feel that alot of things they give might not be very useful. Thats why for cameras IT show might not be cheap in a way. We are still very new in photography....we learn from one another.

Ya body price can drop quite fast whereaas lens are more stable and drop lesser. Thats why if u wanna pick up this hobby and u dun mind a second hand body, you might be able to get a gd price for a pretty new second hand 1000D as its quite a new model. D90 is more of the top few cameras for entry level. 40D im not so sure might be the same as D90 or even higher perhaps a semi pro cam. If u really jus need to use auto mode or simple mode to shoot get the Canon 1000D if u are a fan of Canon Cameras. If u wanna try Nikon D90 is nice with a motored body and video recording function as well. If u going into Sony Alpha the 350 looks not bad their bundle looks more attractive than Nikon and Canon

The sensor format. Ya its a nice body very good control in low lighting esp when u up the ISO. till u explored more deeply into ur current cam. Dun get poisened by it. Yup we should head down one fine day. It can be morning or noon as well with a very nice Bluesky
