Gentlemen, i have finally acquired for myself a set of proper exhausts for my steed. the fishtails are currently cling wrapped and placed in the shop. apparently, when no one puts aftermarket pipes on sale, many people request for it. when the is a set for sale, no one buys~ ha! now that i have a set of exhausts, let me change the terms of my sale a bit.

 

Fishtails: SGD$170 negotiable.

Fishtails: backrest with rack. (barter trade)

FishtailsL backrest without rack + steed usable handlebar risers. (barter trade, risers must be good for one inch bars.)

 

Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated~

btw.. just to ask.. what kinda EO to use fer da steed..? read thru all 60 pgs of this thread.. most of u guys usin semi-syn.. how abt fully-syn..?

 

cos i noe da steed is an old engine.. just lyk da honda XR4.. built when there was only semi-syn EO n hence gd enuff to use just semi-syn..

 

and anyway.. did anyone do groundin fer this bike..? cos my bro juz did on his S4 to even out da electricity flow on da bike.. n it did haf sum throttle response improvement.. bike feels more responsive n "quicker" in pick up.. so just wonderin if anyone has it done on da steed alrdy..

 

yeah, heard about grounding years ago. consulted with my friends and they would only say to show any real gains, a dyno run would be the best and most impartial.

 

as for the syn vs semi syn argument, my friends and i were told to use mineral oil for running in, fully syn for normal use on a new bike. where would one use semi syn then? dunno. based of hearsay, semi syn is best for old bikes. so from what i gather, 17 year old steed with newly overhauled engine would consider new (based on own experience). new clutch plates would make the engine "new" too. so the question comes, would a 3 year old bike with 80,000km travelled, considered old?

 

with all these information in mind, at the end of the day, if i want to use expensive fully syn, the bike shop also wont stop me. ha~ i actually just use semi syn for 3000km or 3 months whichever come first. that would ensure i have good fresh oil in my engine constantly.

 

the above is all based on my own experience. perhaps the old timers would like to comment?

Bro, view the pipes first before you collect your bike so can ask Ah Di to help you install if you'd bought over the pipes.

Don't think so. Yesterday he rode beside a wrx ,who was infront of me, on lane 1 (extreme right lane) on the expressway, and wave at him to pull over to the road shoulder. We saw him before he was near, we were only travelling at 90 km/h. Think must see his mood, if he ride beside me and saw my bike heavily moded, sure kanna stop.

Haha.. "Harley".. Ducati.. Rarely gets pull over.. If ur bike is noisy or ridin abit dangerously.. Higher chances of bein pulled ovr..

 

Rode my drz pass tp n lta officers.. Most of da tym i nvr get pulled ovr.. Sumtyms tp road block also dey let me thru.. Mine wif noisy pipes.. Illegal header.. Small signal lites.. Rear tail lite wif no mudguard.. I guess maybe im lucky..

its at the bike shop. when you want to view, just go down to the bikeshop. then you can look for the mech and ask him to compare because he was the one who changed my pipes~ he is very honest de. due to the fact that my whole life i go to that shop to do everything bike related. if you take my pipes, i will also buy your signals. price can be negotiated after the contra~
