you all know where to get exhaust (not stock) for steed VLX 400 ?

Try Chong Aik at (I think) 50 Desker road.. But must have $500 on standby (for TP, not for purchasing).. :faint:

Yeah its the same design as the vespa/lammy kind however I can't exactly get those made for vespa, those are for 7/8 handles..

I got mine online (not sure where to get em in SG), supposedly meant for triumph.. Due to our 1" bars haha..

I shall try desker then and ask. thanks guys .

I just called chong aik (along desker) to check for their exhaust system, they dont have cobra pipes anymore, they've only got daytona fishtail now and they are retailing at 600 bucks, in my opinion, i think not really worth it..

kena TP, another 5 - 600 bucks gone, very steam!

here's how it would look - http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2008/06/nascarbikex_opt.jpg

pretty much like another forumer's bike, i believe its solitude88?

anyway heard from terribleone that rosli can work magic on your stock pipes and it'll sound terrific, 250 bucks for his magical touch haha

hope this helps, cheers and ride safe!

haha i did the blackout of the tank.. that time still retained the copper racing stripes and the sides of the tank still copper.. does it still look like that now? K-aos sticker should still be there too rite? hahahaha. had nothing but good reviews for that bike.. i could still remember the previous owner's grin when i unveiled the bike to him.. priceless man.. hahah and on top of that, solitude88 actually msged me when he got the bike and i was really glad it got passed on to another fanatic.. hahah.. but i think he is selling the bike now.. hopefully it will end up in another fanatic's posession again.. the bike's name is k-aos.. his owner's character shouldnt be too far from it.. lol

Gotta a cheaper solution for you... I thot of doing it but gave up cos too much to change, although still cheaper than buying from ChAik... You gotta dig this.

Ever considered cutting your original pipe, buy a harley slip on exhaust (SE, Radii, 49 state, original sportster also can), cut a small slit for gripping and then finally opting for bigger jets for the bigger intake (outburst!).. Heard that in JB, there's a shop that can fabricate a new header for about 200RM, no need to leave bike there also...So,

200RM (S$100 for header) + S$200 (sportster slip on exhaust with baffles) + $??? (jetting needles) + fabricate mounting for *NEW* exhaust.....Sure beats the S$600 for the daytona exhaust (exclude jettings some more!)..

My concern is FC so that's why I gave up the idea altogether...N I'm happy with my knocked through exhaust already...

Dude. Your passion for custom fabrication is truly commendable. I can imagine the effort spent behind the wrench and mallet. my workroom of my hdb flat has already turned into a workshop. my kind neighbours are enduring the wrecking. If I could set up welding tools in there. I might just do it. It's not easy to get even the basic fabrication work around the industrial if you do not know anybody. Hat's off dude.

200 bucks for sportster slip on exhaust, from harley? like original retail? wouldn't it cost more, since everything HD is priced at quite a high sum? haha i don't know, i'm just assuming that is expensive haha

your exhaust is fully knocked through? i did a bit of knocking but i feel that its not enough, cos it still gets covered by the surrounding vehicles and sometimes, bikes that are really old and chui with lao-hong exhaust can sound louder also haha.. quite sian the vibes

i did the same place as nomad but for some reason, i feel that his is louder than mine haha

I still prefer the stock exhaust.. And performance wise stock pipes w stock air box gives u better low end torque.. I'm just gonna get the internal leaks welded up,blacken the pipes and wrap the headers..

Sprint74,forgot to show u my neighbour's Vespa just now.. He sprayed the entire scoot w the floor board anti rust coating.. Very nice

That's me! hahahaha :cheeky: Wah T1, you take photo never tell me ah... there goes my 'secret' project...Bike might only be ready only next week or 2 weeks time or.. Only allowed by lady BOSS to work about 2-3hrs in the afternoons...Night time family time, and I mean real family time... How much can do in 2- 3 hrs? :sian:

Working closely with nomad to make a seat pan.. Maybe screw on my vespa springed seat instead of making another seat.. Got some websites that actually teach how to make your own pan... only a lot of manual labour, and sparks flying into your face! :faint:
