Hi guys..any advices on reliable shops to go to for steed servicing n mods? I'm still waiting for my bike from first motors At ubi.. N it has been a hell experience of a lifetime..started wif me telling e boss of my requirements for e bike..e rest was up to him to design e bike n to work within my budget of 3k.. He agreed n promised me e heavens.. N told me can be done in 2 weeks.. Guess wat? Its rdy 1 mth n 2 weeks now..n i'm still waiting.. Went down recently n he showed me e invoices n it exceeded my budget n came to a price of 4k!! Meaning to say it exceeded ny budget by 1k!! E best part was he didn't even have e decency to ring me up to inform me of e over exceeding price! Ridiculous rite? He told me coz he changed alot of parts!! E question to him was wat happened to our agreement? Of working within e budget of 3k and 2 weeks? It has caused me alot of inconveniences coz of not having e bike! If he couldn't deliver he sholudnt have promised! N I wouldn't have sold my bike off so early! Furthermore I stay at bedok n work at cck..*imagine*

juz wanna share tis story wif u guys to let ya guys he aware of this type of sleazy shops (from my very own experiences) there has been both positive n negative remarks bout tis shop.. But as they say to each his own experience..n I was at e blunt end..

 

P.s any reliable n trustworthy shops to intro ? Thanx!

Sorry to hear your situation. Almost wanted to do my fender mod there but too ex for me..Niwei, you have a case against them if the agreement was done in writing. If only verbal agreement then sorry to tell you that you've been duped..

 

Niwei, this is my personal experience with bike shops..

1) K&T - Clifford (S4 specialist- shop along same row as 1st M*t*r). Did my S4 and damn satisfied. He's good for steed hardware/parts replacement but not very familiar at tuning the Steed carb (inline 4 vs dual carb). Servicing also very good. Do my steed servicing there (oil and filter). Just serviced my fork recently and got it done in 2.5hrs. Highly recommended. (except for steed carb tuning) If you can't stay while your bike is being repaired, he will record the repair works with his camera as proof of job done.

2) Gerry Looi- behind tampines Safra, next to Dirtwheel (Amir)- good wkmanship but must wait nong nong time... He took 5 hrs (only started work after 4 hrs + 1 hr) to do my carb as he was doing another bike before mine.

3) Rosli's (recommended by steed riders but I've never tried before..

can this handle bar use on steed? i bought from japan but cannot use for my tw200 project.

i lower the whole bike, and now the bike look like a mini chopper.

can use for steed or not it depends on how thick (diameter) of the bar loh...

same thick size with harley handle bar but not sure what is the diameter.

Marco! So ur low rider is actually a TW.. Didn't expect that u'll put a fat front,looks wicked! If it's the same as Harley it should be 1inch(25.4mm),it'll fit Steed.. U can use the bar for ur TW.just need some mod.. There are a few ways to do it,one way is to use internal throttle system.. Can use internal twist clutch also if u wanna have that clean look.. Can get them easily on Ebay.. Switches u know where to get already..

Latest twist to my story..initially e DIRECTOR of e shop told me will gimme 1 mth warranty if anthing occurs to e engine..now he says e warranty will provide ONI free labour.. Faulty parts I have 2 change muz pay n not covered by shop..damn ridiculous..my previous bike shop gave 3 mtgs warranty wif parts change at no cost la.. Haiz.. Take note guys be wary of who ya dealing wif.. always ask for written agreement. Sun juz settle for verbal agreement. No matter how promising n nice the person is...lesson learned by me!

Usually I would go for One man show mechanics. When a business is larger, overheads and cost will be higher, small scale mechanics charges lower. To some, One man show shops may look dodgy but I prefer smaller crowds at shops. shorter queues too.

anyway i've got my risers and dragbars fixed on already, awesome la... I need to get mirrors for sure, stock mirrors with dragbars like weird man

 

sadly the first riding experience with it had to be in the rain.. no visors, like needles hitting face.. hur

 

oh btw T1, the exhaust wrap you talking about, I heard some ppl get it from beach rd, not real thermal wraps, just for show, heard of it before?

 

Daytona thermal wraps cost like 75 bucks at soon fah motors, woot!

im tinking off selling off my steed..but buyer has to rectify engine..cockup big time..shop dat sold me bike insists nothing wrong wif engine..wth..highway throttle halfway die how can there be nothing wrong ? furthermore he customize bike not 2 my requirements..haiz..

nelg wehc: I agree with nomad, vlx steeds can get about 2k, depending on condition and outlook. VSE will fetch higher, VLS springer EVEN higher! only shops will sell VLXs above 2.5k, condition also not so good. (saw 2 steed VLXs at a bikeshop along changi rd, asking for 2.8k but after starting I know it's only worth 1.5k max.. Engine sounds like rojak! You can also check with edamho's thread. His bike looks good, especially with the whitewalls *drools* (actually asking him to trade tyres with me + top up) heeee
