with turbos u will need forged pistons and rods.. decrease the compression levels of the engine and make sure your turbo unit has some form of cooling done to it. lol.. wanna do it? lol

 

good effort you guys. so far seems like you people are the oni active modders ard now haha. go for more! once the mod bug bites.. it becomes a virus.. stays in you and u cannot be cured.. hahaha.

Dear all, I understand that rear suspension has a gauge of 1-7.

 

May I know,

 

1) for length wise 1-7 which is the longest or shortest?

2) for support wise how izzit like? 1 the softest or hardest?

3) I know there are numbers on the suspension? how to see like which number you are at?

I know that there's at least 1 turbocharged Kawa ZXR250 in Malaysia.. Saw it b4.. But I seriously doubt if we can find aftermarket engine parts for Shadow 6 for turbo upgrades..

 

Actually I think there are a lot of Phantom riders modding also.. Been seeing a lot of Phantom ratbikes lately.. Maybe COE ending that's why..

No rain today.. Finalllllllly got my bars welded.. Dunno how many mths already,tubes already rusty.. I'm really stoked on it.. Gonna get it drilled and tapped for screw threads tomoro..

 

1st May I enquire, Do you use the stock handlebar/scrapyard, cut and weld the new bar on? My guess is to go scrapyeard get the parts, then head for the workshops where they weld for us right.

 

In that case, must it always be Rosli. seems like there's only a rosli to go to.

2nd Oil tanks. I am curious can we only buy them and if that's the case aren't we confined to just the few tanks: Steed, Dragster, Intuder, etc. I was thinking 'chasis-hugging'. The complexity of an oil tank is just not possible to be modded/welded/done in a decent singapore metal workshop.

 

3rd while i am aware a light rear can be achieved with sawing off parts of the swing arm and welding a new rear hugger, does that mean one has to convert to a hardtail (since the rear hugger cannot go any closer to the wheel) so does it mean light rear = hardtail, while soft-tail = heavy/ugly rear fender

4rd if slicing off the exhaust, removing the muffler entirely cause disturbance in the compression in the pistons? I can't believe i am still having a problem unscrewing the nuts on the exhaust myself. so much restrictions, cannot make it..

Welding and customizing your bar may not always be at Rosli's.

Most industrial parks would have Metalworks companies.

Only issue is whether they can weld the kind of metal that you have gotten and how well you manage to communicate with them. Being friendly always works. Though some of different handling and looks may be achieved with bars and risers that you can simply purchase off the rack. The more radical handles would be straights, drags, apes, racers or anything that gives the riders a forward leaning position.

As again, it's just welding for tanks too. unless its a hard rubber tank that you have gotten (dirtbike tanks) No tanks in particular that you are restricted to. it all boils down to the bracket that you and the fabricator design to mount the tank. Just know that Steed's chassis is a twin top tubing frame.

As for the rear fender, A hugger is a fashionable look which has the fender gone as close to the tyre as possible. Softtail is a registered trademark of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It refers to to motorcycles and bicycles that feature a moveable rear suspension system with springs or shock absorbers to absorb bumps. On motorcycles, the shock absorbers or springs are hidden underneath out of view to give the appearance of rigid frame. Usually a mono-suspension. A Hardtail refers to motorcycles and bicycles that does not have any springs nor shock absorbers attached to the rear end.

Scenario #1: Saw off the rear end of the frame, mount a fender = softail

Scenario #2: Replace rear shock with strut = hardtail

Both scenario achieves the hugging look.

Differences? Scenario #1: still retains functionality of rear suspension but irreversible process. Scenario #2: reversible process.

You would need a socket wrench to do the job. Should not be a mammoth's task removing it. you wouldn't need to remove your exhaust for baffle removal in any case. You would need your exhaust to be firmly mounted while you cut and drill.

Sori noob here regarding steed bike,Questions,questions and i hope u guys can help..well i'm curious has anyone done the hardtail mods on their current steed? Cutting the rear frame i mean..Any difficulties/problems u guys encounter regarding suspension issues? Hope u guys can share ur experiences and pics are definately great. i'm thinking of goin hardtail with the rear frame cut.thanks and cheers guys.Any mit up soon?

Marco! So ur low rider is actually a TW.. Didn't expect that u'll put a fat front,looks wicked! If it's the same as Harley it should be 1inch(25.4mm),it'll fit Steed.. U can use the bar for ur TW.just need some mod.. There are a few ways to do it,one way is to use internal throttle system.. Can use internal twist clutch also if u wanna have that clean look.. Can get them easily on Ebay.. Switches u know where to get already..

dismantle your seat.

There's a fuel tube which connects from your tank to a fuel pump below your seat. Check if the tubes are connected properly or maybe the rubber tubes have worn out.
