Latest update on my steed project.. Stripped down for spray works..(the end is near!!!)

There was also a guy who just bought his VSE I met at my welding/ modding place who saw my ride and also wants to mod his like mine..Good that he asked me for my approval... heeeee :cheeky:

Hey guys,

 

Anyone knows where to mend dents on gas tank?

suction technique? I dropped my bike and there's a dent on my tank~~!!!!!:cry:

I heard Lye Design got to go by 2 weeks appt and they are very "dao" though their work is one of the best. :angel:

How time flies...

 

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

T1 & Musha: Thanks for the info. did some research will pay them a visit if i fail to remove the dent myself. Alternative is PDR aka Paintless Dent Remover at peninsula plaza. Will get it fixed before our meet up.

 

Sprint: Good deal on the paintjob we talked about that day. I getting anxious for you.

As claimed, There's a need to drive when we have a Family. But all that is needed to ride is Dream... Many are still dreaming about it.

Paintjob cost for MY 2 tone coloured design (from most ex to cheapest and good, estimated):

1) D'kustom (at Bukit merah) :$550 + $100 (pearl white)

2) Jackson Vehicle (Loyang): $420 +$100 (pearl)

3) Ong and sons (Defu): $400 (one colour only), can imagine if 2 colours + pearl.

4) Replica Spray Paint (Kallang Bahru, opposite ah boy workshop) : $380 (went for 3 colours with pearl white)

 

All shops above have to dismantle parts on your own or pay extra for them to get a mechanic to dismantle...

 

Went for the BESTest deal...Can't wait for it to be ready... :cheeky:

Patience my dear bro...Actually I also damn excited! haaaa Saw the paintwork before it was lacquered. Also made a tank sticker from 219 s'goon rd. Didn't come out the way I designed it but already gave RSP to lacquer. Just wait and see... Not nice, just paste another sticker over it or reuse the steed emblem..

Bought a apir of Harley softail slip on exahusts for $40 from a friend. Looks brand new but silencers drilled out already and included.. While waiting for the paintwork to be ready (latest next monday), thought of doing the exhaust but not sure to mod my own exhaust or buy another set to mod and keep my own, in case I don't like it can swap back.. hmmmmm :dot:

Just curious, harley exhaust on a steed, whats the purpose on it?

Plug and play, no... I'm trying to get ideas 1st then see whether can mod to fit or not without having to pay too much... If can't fit then just sell of the pipes....But wana use all resources before giving up the idea... heeeeee :faint:

To be honest, even if you fit on harley pipes, it wont have that potato sound nor making it bassier nor louder....worst... maybe in return, it will become a laughing stock....but if its for fun and laughter...then off course, its always good to try on new ideas...anyway just my 5 not 2 cents of advice.....:)

Here we go again. Why can't jap bikes use H-D parts? Can H-D riders run Jap parts on their bikes and not be a laughing stock? If someone put a H-D emblem on a Jap bike or try too hard to make it look very Harley like den of cos we'll not be laughing with him but at him. But wat's wrong w modding H-D cans to fit on a Steed? It will definatly not have the potato tune for sure. But if u experiment modding the internals a little it will definatly give u a bassier and louder tone if u do it right. For all I know,he's not gonna use them cos he want to make his bike 'look more Harley' cos he can afford a H-D if he wants one. most ppl who mod bikes uses what ever they think suites the bike they had in mind. To pass off a set of $40 exhaust just because of the fear of sterotypes laughing would be silly IMO.

the whole idea is to try and do it. customizing is the whole point of it all.

it wouldn't be a laughing stock lor. T1 did a mod for steed to run supertrapp pipes and it sounded great. sprint, agree tat you should get a spare pipe to mod just in case you want to revert back to original. I am looking for spare pipe. shop quoted me 200 for the original stock pipes.

yo tictacs, steed springers are damn hard to come by which is why i jumped into the opportunity of grabbing one when i saw it. you might want to try your luck into getting the uncles that are riding it. perhaps a trade off with whatever ride you have. use your PR skills, it may work. up the north region i came across 3 steed springers. all owned by uncles.
