Maybe too many claims against sp.. that's why.. then people like you want to renew insurance then suffer.

Hi Guys, have a question here, my bike is currently under hire purchase with a shop, and my insurance is expiring soon. Is it ok if I go directly to the insurance company directly to renew my insurance rather than going to the shop?

Yeah if i not wrong shouldnt be a problem. The insurance company will ask you if your bike is under hire purchase.

am i missing something or what?

any traps that us the consumers might get caught in?

anyone with bad experiences or reviews of DA.com?

probably will go with DA.com for my next renewals..

We'll have to hear from someone who has claims experience with them.

As for premium, 1 possible reason why DA is cheaper is they look into vehicle usage frequency too I guess...

On my insurance agreement there is an "insured estimate of value" - the estimated value of the bike for insurance purposes (for instance in case of theft). No value is entered in the form - just "PMV" - prevailing market value. How is the PMV determined, is there a formula or a record that can be checked?

Hi would you guys go with NTUC or AXA?

For me, tpft would be $350 cheaper with AXA than NTUC.

For tp only, AXA would be $50 cheaper.

Not sure which to get and this is my first time.

Need your advice about claims, loyalty discounts etc before I make a decision.

Thanks!

What did you mean by vehicle usage frequency?

What and who's data do they take into consideration when they compute that? Or is it in the form where they ask: How often do you you intend to use the vehicle? daily, 3 times a week, weekends, monthly ...

Why rush? It's the journey, not the destination ... :shades:

Yes they will ask you how frequent you use the vehicle. Eg. Whats ur total mileage per month/year.

Guys,

Insurance industry is the same as other industry. When one newcomer needs business, they will slash the price and try to get market share. When they cannot tahan claims, they will either increase premium or stop insuring.

When i choose insurance company, i look at the financial ratings, the size of the company and the support rendered. This will affect how fast the claims being processed. Imagine a motor claim department with 5 staffs handling thousands of claims. Compare to another with 20 staffs, which one will settle claims fast?

Guys, its not always the premium. There are many reasons why a company is charging at a premium.

Good lucks!!!!!

Hi all,

I am getting a bike from my friend and his bike is under hire purchase. Bike shop has refused to process the insurance for me as a subrider over a small misunderstanding. I went to AIG to try and get direct from them but they cant process it as bike is under hire purchase from some collective company i presume. What are my options?

Best option :

Pay bike fully

As long as u r under installment with bikeshop, u have Little or close to No say till your contract is done

Even IF they allow now, upon completing your installment/"Release Form", they have the "Processing Fee" for u to settle before u r Officially out from their list..

Out of sudden the "charges" comes into play..
