if you want it for posting videos on youtube etc, then probably action cams are the way to go. you probably want to go with the well known brands, like insta dji like those mentioned. but if you want it as dashcam recorder, there're also those AIOs (all-in-ones), like Chigee, Alien Rider that you can consider. the price is around 700+, but it needs wiring. comes with front and rear camera, carplay functions etc ... whole package2 points

It's been a long time but in case you're still wondering, my gf and I flew to Bangkok and went to the Lambretta accessories shop there. Plenty of stuff because Lambretta is more common in Thailand. We ended up buying quite a few things including windscreen, foldable passenger foot pegs, bigfoot stand accessory, among other things. You could consider doing that.1 point

Hello Yes, they stopped importing it around 6 or so years ago if I'm not wrong. Spare parts are not too difficult to get if you're not choosy. You can always order with Dirtwheel but there are other workshops (Katoom, Krazy Throttle Motors, etc.) that specialize in KTM bikes and get their parts from the factories in India. Usually it can be up to half price compared to what KTM agent sells and it can look very very slightly different (different factory, different materials and quality). Of course for larger parts like fairings, may need to wait for up to a month but smaller parts are usually available with these workshops. Do keep in mind KTM agent will offer more parts compared to these other shops, for example I could only find stock decal for RC 200 at Dirtwheel. No one else were selling at the time. Source: I used to own 2017 RC 200 for 3 years and just sold a few months ago. Had to do research for spare parts due to wear and tear as well as getting into an accident once and having to repair the bike. Very fun bike. Hope this helps! Open to questions if you have any1 point

You can get Mutt parts off taobao. It's also using parts from Suzuki gs125 and gn250 depending if you buy the 125 or 250cc mutt models. To be exact the mutt bikes(with the exception of the new DRK models), their models code starts with QM125 / QM250. Their china origin brand is "Qingqi". So if you go in taobao search for parts by typing in QM125 or QM250 or Qingi QM125 etc., you can yield more results. And yes it can get super cheap parts if you know how to source it. The key thing to note is that all these mass production Chinese bikes are just rebrand of china brand bikes. So mutt/Brixton/mash/sinnis/lexmoto etc. all these are just using a china origin based bike like Qingqi for example and then just rojak change parts here and there to bling it up to make it look super nice but in a essence it's still a Qingqi. Go on Alibaba webpage and search retro motorcycles and you can see that these bikes all look the same with the exception of branding and slightly different parts like exhaust etc. Buyers who buys in bulk above the UOM from factories can put their own logo on the bikes and edit the bikes with different parts so it stands from the other clones. So yeah nothing seems to be really authentically custom there, it's just still seems to be mass produced. Mutt are those bikes that you have to keep up on loose bolts, random parts suddenly not working, but at the same time certain parts are super cheap though if you know where to get it. However specific parts like the tank have to get direct from Mutt. In terms of parts availability I don't think that's a problem as you can just go to mutt shop directly(I think the shop is called CREO now) to get things fixed. Still though if you're good with fixing the bike yourself, it will still prove to potential be a gem, since parts are cheap, easy to fix and maintain and generally low fuel consumption while looking stylish too. Speaking from experience as I've owned both a lexmoto and mutt prior and I've done engine oil and oil filter changes, air filter change, spark plug change, valve clearance, brake pad changes, rear shock pre load adjustment, battery change, chain adjustment, clutch and throttle cable change, fuel pump change, TPS sensor and O2 sensor change. So yeah if I can do all these back under my void deck back then, so can you A good service manual from Haynes would be good to have plus watching a few you tube tutorials before attempting to do any maintenance works yourself. BUT, the resale value on all Chinese brand bikes in Singapore sucks. So if you but any Chinese brand bikes in Singapore take note you may not be able to get a lot of worth when it comes to trading in the bike for something else in the future.1 point

can just go and meet them and listen for any weird noise and pricing always matters when comes to motorcycle. at the same time, most of the time, older bikes are not in demand. and thus the price kept going lower and lower. Most of the time, you see those bikes in perfect condition, left a few months COE going for 2-4k (estimated)1 point

Could he/she be talking about "lay-up"?? Lay-up is the term to keep the bike registered, but NOT to be used on the road, saving the road tax. Insurance still needs to be paid. https://onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/content/onemotoring/home/owning/vehicle-lay-up.html The layup period COE amount can be refunded from LTA when the bike is scrapped, but no refund for renewal. He/she could be buying for a friend whom currently have no license to ride the bike. But as long your bike is not lay-up yet, the new owner have to do the lay-up process by themselves after they have taken over ownership1 point

Just my own thoughts, Could you can share what type of bike you're thinking of and how much experience you have riding already? This would help us give you more precise advise. Cause if you're a newer rider, i would advise you to get an older bike. Just so you can start off without fearing that you would drop the bike or be lost when trying to send it in for repairs. Older bikes will always need some maintenance to set your mind at ease. Like changing tires, brake pads, brake disc, engine oil, filter, chain and sprocket even. Basically start developing a relationship with your local bike shop mechanics so you have a home base Once you're more confident of your riding and know exactly what you want then get a new bike as a keeper.1 point

Buying from Owner directly have it's good and bad.. Good would be the slightly better price. Bad are issues that's comes after the handover. Shops have lemon law to cover buyer for (non consignment) problems with engine/gearbox.. or at least shop can have warranty period written on the sales agreement. Bike don't have PPI inspection services that I know of. since U getting KTM, you can check with DW if they have PPi for their bikes. At least they can check system diagnostics with the computer. Newer bike like cars also lots of electronics these days and the sensors tends to cause issues.. Bike's mechanical parts are easy to replace, it's those issues with electronics where U may not know which sensor or plug got issues.. 1 by 1 to trace and check, gotten take real long time & $$ if asking shop to do.. If your target bike have regular shop to service, at least can check on wear& tear replacement via receipts.. Next is forums to check from owners and things to check for (as you mentioned) The saving $$ from shops is normally used for parts replacement or towing services... Good luck with your purchase!!1 point

Hello, I am looking for bike recommendations as I am planning to upgrade/downgrade my current bike. Currently riding NC750X manual for about 7 years and the COE is due for renewal soon. Some factors/features that I am looking for in my next bike: - Automatic transmission - Powerful in terms of pickup and top speed (able to cruise at 120km/h comfortably) - Huge storage, either glove box or frunk + rear box or side box or under seat storage - Low maintenance and durable, spare parts and repair available everywhere - Light weight - Comfortable for long distance - Engine that is not very hot (especially when stuck in traffic light/customs) - Easy to handle and lane split - Fuel tank about 14L+ I know my best option is still NC750X manual or DCT and no other bikes can come close to my above expectations (prove me wrong). I really enjoy my NC750X manual and would love to renew the COE or buy another NC750X, but also want to try out other bikes. Sorry if I sound stupid for asking this and have many demands and high expectations in a bike. I thank you in advance for any bike recommendations.1 point

Higher end bikes worth it ... small kups or scooters no point as the difference will be easily breakeven by doing some repairs for old small bikes1 point

Yes, alot of people who travelled to Thailand said, the highway towards Thailand is the most boring one.. (as it will take about 12-16 hours depending on your CC and comfortable speed) So they ended up spending more time in Malaysia doing Malaysia trips instead. Can consider running in Malaysia to do more trips instead of all the way to Thailand. Thailand felt more "achieving" but tiring.. so once in a while ok la.. or after you are bored of Malaysia.. hahaha..1 point

Hiya, following up with the much belated Part 2! Started my first morning in Hatyai walking to the core of the town from PM Residence hotel. Room was big, decent balcony and decent rooftop pool for chilling. Left the Harley in the hotel carpark as it would be much too impractical for my next couple days of exploring the town. Took in the sights, ate a few of the local hawker favourites. Quickly stumbled upon a scooter rental, where I upgraded to a red Vespa 125cc with matching helmet and topbox – have always wanted to experience the hype about it. Not much comments about performance tbh, I think it's mainly the aesthetic. But it worked great for getting around a town like Hatyai, super convenient for getting to coffee shops, food places etc. Ate food and more food, hipster coffee roasters too. On 3rd day, checked out and head back the same way I arrived. Uneventful but nice drive back to Ipoh where I would stay the night. Again abandoned the Harley to get around on foot, wander the night markets. Sadly wasn't too impressed by the dinner options (or I made poor choices), found some speakeasy bar as well but it was a quiet weekday night. Final day, had curry noodles in Ipoh and headed back to SG. It just so happens EVERY time I ride the NS from KL and JB, it's jammed to hell. Tried riding along the shoulder for a while instead of sitting and baking in traffic, then decided to follow google maps which took me onto a minor dirt road detour... should have kept on the shoulder. Rode through a bit of rain and got to JB in time for a convenient dinner at some stalls on the street. Uneventful customs, and that sums it up. Not sure when I will make the trip again. While I liked Hatyai and would love to go further, it was quite a chore just getting there with the traffic and stopping for gas every 1.5hrs or so. However, my interest is renewed to explore more readily accessible parts of Malaysia, and hopefully it will be comparably pretty/interesting. Cheers and ride safe everyone. Photos:1 point

Ace Custom Tony, moved back to JB to semi retire. for Harley servicing and repairs, i recommend Sanfu at Kaki Bukit. Just google it. They are efficient both in cost and time taken. Simple job like servicing takes only an hour at most including some waiting. good luck and ride safe1 point

I think nowadays, the Transfer of Ownership can be done online at OneMotoring. Another thing is be very very careful of COI. I have not gotten clear information if a person's credit score is affected when taking over the remainder loan amount. And some riders what they do is don't do any paperwork just new rider continue to pay the shop the monthly amount until all finished (and hope the prev owner still around to do the transfer..). Still shady and I did not go thru with any of the Carousell deals I attended for possible 'project bikes'.1 point

7 Mistakes to Avoid When Buying a Second-Hand Motorcycle + Inspection Checklist! Transportation is always the talk on everybody’s tongues in Singapore. With our exorbitant car prices, you may find yourself turning instead towards the idea of riding a motorcycle around town. It’s a sleek, agile, and cost-effective solution that offers not only a more affordable means of getting around but also unparalleled freedom and flexibility. Hurrah to no longer being held prisoner by fixed public transportation timings! Now, before you start that engine and ride off into motorcycle ownership bliss, there are other things to consider, such as… buying one first. New motorcycles can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000, and there’s also that (not so) little thing called COE (Certificate of Entitlement) to consider in your budgeting, which itself is a good close to $10k on its own! For a wallet-friendly alternative, you might think about buying a used motorcycle instead of a new one. Well, here’s where we come in to point out 7 mistakes you want to avoid when purchasing a second-hand bike. Read on and you’ll thank us later! Mistake #1: Not buying the right engine size to match In Singapore, a Class 2B licence allows you to ride a motorcycle of up to 200cc on public roads, whereas you’ll need a Class 2A licence for bikes of up to 400cc. If you already have a Class 2 licence, then you can choose whatever kind of motorcycle you fancy. First of all, you should be looking only at motorbikes that fit your particular licence type. Secondly, you should choose a motorcycle that matches your experience and riding level. If you’re a new rider, it’s ideal to start off with a smaller engine size so you can get used to your bike’s handling before upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle. Mistake #2: Not checking the number of years of COE left on the bike Don’t just get excited over a low price and a shiny photo. How much a motorcycle’s value is “worth” largely depends on how many years of COE are left on that motorcycle. If the COE is close to expiring and you can’t afford to renew it (does anyone really have $10k just lying around, really?), then look for another bike with more “rideable” years on it. Of course, the more years of COE left on a motorbike, the more expensive it’s going to be. Mistake #3: Trusting all listings People are going to market second-hand motorcycles in the most attractive ways, and this can affect the prices you see when combing through listings. Some ads will offer an extremely low “ride away” price, but they might belong to dealerships that have folded the actual selling price into the loan they want you to take up with them. Ads marked “COI” (Certificate of Indebtedness) point to sellers who still owe money on a loan and want to transfer the remainder of the loan over to you to pay for it. Dealership loans can come with high interest rates that may go beyond what you actually wanted to pay for a used bike, so be careful. The most important thing to do is to do your due diligence and research carefully. Remember also that prices of second-hand motorbikes in Singapore can be negotiable. Work with the sellers who are happy to offer you what you want at a price that suits your budget range. Mistake #4: Immediately turning on the engine You’re looking at this beautiful second-hand motorcycle right in front of you now. You can’t wait to throttle it and listen to that wondrous roaring sound of the bike’s engine. Well, hold your horses, because it’s best to inspect a motorcycle first when it has a cold engine. Request to the seller beforehand to let you cold-start the motorcycle when you’re there. One reason for this is to allow you to check certain areas of the motorcycle first before starting it up. This is especially important for inspecting the exhaust. (Never touch a hot exhaust!) Using your hands and some force, check that the exhaust is solidly mounted. Look all around the exhaust for any hidden areas of corrosion or unwanted dents that could potentially cause performance issues. While the engine is cold, take advantage of this time to remove the radiator cap and check if there is any oil in the cooling system. Oil floats on top of water; if you see that, it could mean engine problems. Another reason to cold-start the bike is because starting the engine is generally smoother and requires less effort when the engine is already warm. However, what you want to test is exactly how it starts up from a cold engine. While the motorcycle is warming up, take note of these things: Is it difficult to start? The battery might need replacing. Is the engine running smoothly or is it chugging? There might be potential issues with fuel, air intake, or the spark plug. Look behind, is the motorcycle smoking? A normal road bike should not be smoking. This could point to problems like burning oil or leaking coolant. Those are big problems that require major repairs. Do you hear any knocking or rattling sounds from the motorcycle engine? It should sound smooth and consistent. Any strange noises coming from the engine could mean issues such as loose components, worn bearings, or valve train problems. Which brings us to… Mistake #5: Not following this inspection checklist It’s easy to get excited about buying a bike you really like; you might give it a once-over and think, “Okay, well, it looks quite good, I’ll take it.” When it comes to investing your hard-earned money into a second-hand motorcycle, take the time to make sure you’re getting a good return on your investment. This is a great list of 15 areas to inspect when checking out a used motorbike: Area to Inspect What to Look Out For ☑ Frame Cracks, bends, dents, signs of welding ☑ Odometer Mileage is consistent with bike’s age ☑ Engine Listen for smooth operation, no leaks or smoke ☑ Oil What you don’t want to have: Metal flakes (engine is falling apart) Milky/foamy (water contamination) Burnt smell (overheating) Dirty oil (poor maintenance) Low level oil due to leaks ☑ Fuel tank, fuel lines No rust inside the tank, fuel lines not cracked or leaking ☑ Coolant If it’s brown, it could be rust or oil in the engine ☑ Exhaust No smoke, damages, holes or rust ☑ Tyres Good tread depth, no cracks or uneven wear ☑ Brakes Brake pads not worn out, brake parts not warped No noise upon braking and no drag upon release ☑ Clutch Consistent engagement point, no unusual noises ☑ Suspension Compress and release smoothly without noise ☑ Chain Chain should wrap snugly around the sprocket, not loose Tip! At the three o'clock position, gently pull the drive chain away from the rear sprocket; it should remain halfway engaged with the sprocket teeth. ☑ Sprockets All in good condition, not hooked or chipped ☑ Electrical system Check lights, indicators, horn, battery condition ☑ Controls and cables Check throttle, clutch, brake levers, no fraying cables Pro tip! One easy way to check if a used motorcycle has been in an accident is to inspect the steering stops on the front of the frame. This is what keeps the steering in place, so it can’t go too far to the left or right. If the metal there is bent or damaged, it could potentially mean that the motorcycle might have been in a crash before. You can also bring along a friend who is a more experienced motorcyclist to help you do this inspection. Mistake #6: Not being thorough in the details So, the motorcycle looks good, no damage, inspection cleared, the test ride even went well. Now, let’s talk business. This is when you should really get down into the nitty gritty about all the things you need to know before purchasing this second-hand motorcycle. Here are 4 things you should absolutely ask about: 1. Service History The seller should have a record of all prior work done to the motorcycle. If they have always done their servicing with a particular mechanic or workshop since the beginning, and they know the bike inside and out, you can even consider going back to the same workshop. Note that certain sellers who themselves are motorcycle mechanics may DIY their repairs instead of taking it to approved workshops. It doesn’t make the motorcycle any less good; but they should still be able to provide repair receipts. 2. Registration / VIN Before finalising your purchase, meticulously compare the motorcycle's VIN number and licence plate number with those listed on the title document to ensure they match. You can typically find the VIN number on the frame's steering head. Ensure all numbers are clear and haven’t been tampered with. 3. Fully Paid For Ask for proof that the seller has fully paid off the COE for the motorcycle. If they purchased the motorcycle on a Hire Purchase scheme, make sure that all instalments have been paid off. Otherwise, LTA (Land Transport Authority) will disallow the transfer of ownership. 4. Check all LTA-related details You’ll want to know where this motorcycle stands when it comes to the LTA. Ask about remaining road tax, any late payment of fines, and the last inspection date of the motorcycle. If the motorcycle you’re purchasing has any modifications done to it whatsoever, make sure that they are LTA-approved modifications. Note that some LTA-allowed modifications require pre-approval, while some are perfectly alright without any written approval from LTA. For peace of mind, ask to take the motorcycle to a LTA-Authorised Inspection Centre for an assessment. Mistake #7: Not purchasing motorcycle insurance You’re very sure that this is the motorcycle you want. Now it’s time to arrange an appointment with the seller to head down to LTA for the official transfer of ownership process. But wait! There’s one thing you’ll need to do prior to transferring ownership at LTA. You need to make sure you have at least a Third Party insurance policy for the motorcycle that you are planning to buy. Take the time to consider which type of motorcycle insurance coverage is most suited to your needs. Consider also optional add-ons, such as “New for Old” where your motorcycle will be replaced with the same/similar make and model if it is stolen. Research Thoroughly Buying a second-hand motorcycle in Singapore is not difficult, but it will take up some of your time doing your due diligence in comparing offers, and checking the road-worthiness of the motorcycle you plan to purchase. Finally, don’t forget to gear up with the right protective motorcycle gear, especially a motorcycle helmet that comes with a PSB approved sticker. Good luck, and ride safe! dun bother with the cheap ones $50-100.. you would rather not get those.. at least get a decent ones dji/gopro.. older model is alright as long it belongs to those recognisable brands.. numbers all fake on those cameras.. back in the days, I tried many many.. and still decided to go with GoPro 1 -> drift HD -> vsys -> insta360.. LOL.. I personally tested at least over 50 sets of cheap cameras.. and they are a waste of time and money..1 point
-
bike mount camera = insta360 / GoPro / dji action camera. all quite costly since they are better quality and need to charge at least once per 2-3 days depending on your time on the road... can record at least 1-2 hours with one battery. bike on board camera front and back = 3xx-4xx for higher end cameras.. switch on auto on and record, will overwrite old files. doesn't take up electricity if switch off.. depending on your electricity tag. Onboard camera - vsys (What I personally brought, last me for the duration I had for my bike 14 years for first bike, 2nd bike now 3 years++).. price about 2xx-3xx I heard Singapore got some brand also go up to 5xx.. you can check around..1 point

Thanks for your inputs. Looked like no so called 'easy' time slots, just go directly or pick up a cooler hour to go, such as 05 am (?), even jammed 3 hours, still won't be hot. PS, It's my first time of solo riding trip to Malaysia and I don't use smart phone. Wonder if it's enough just bring an EZ-Link x Touch 'n Go Motoring Card and a Singapore debit card. For the CB190R, gear 1 has alot of torque, which may be the design consideration for the bike, a powerful low-speed urban machine. This is partly due to the gear ratio, with 14 teeth on the front sprocket and 45 teeth on the rear. Which is also why the top speed is rather modest at only around 120km/h. My previous complain about low power was probably due to my conservative riding (I dun rev alot at low gear) and unrealistic expectations. In reality, this bike is more powerful than it is fast. Slopes are nothing to this bike. I do get false neutrals sporadically, but that's usually because of poor riding technique. If u try to shift up from 1 to 2 with insufficient speed/rpm at gear 1, you will tend to hit neutral. So just throttle up abit more before shifting. Since my last review, I made a trip up north to Kluang, Johor, and was full throttle (9k rpm; redline was 9.5k) almost all the way for close to 2 hours. Fuel consumption dropped to a staggering 27km/L compared to 45/L the way I normally ride in SG (90-100km/h). I've decided to change the front sprocket to a 16 teeth, to increase top speed as well as improve fuel consumption at the expense of acceleration. Will update once I change and get it tested. I wear gloves when I ride, so I dun really get numb so easily Sent from my MI MAX using Tapatalk1 point

While I'm no expert, I would like to give my own personal review, having travelled 1000km with it so far in less than 2 weeks as a P-plate rider. First of all, I think it is important to describe a little about myself as a rider so as to put some context into the review. I'm 29yo, 1.78m, 80+kg, and my main use of having a bike is to commute to work daily from east to west (Tampines to Boon Lay; yeah it totally sucks), and I have intention to go into msia (up to Malacca) once I’m confident of my riding skills to visit friends and relatives. Taking into account practicality and my usage needs, I only considered naked street bikes because of its upright riding position, relative longer riding range (fuel economy X fuel capacity), flexibility to add top and side boxes (without looking stupid) and decent enough speed. My initial shortlist includes the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, KTM Duke 200, Yamaha FZ16/150, Honda CBF150 and the Honda CB190R. I was actually quite geared towards the pulsar because of its priceerformance ratio (at least on paper), but on the day I passed my 2B TP (at CDC), I went over to Boonsiew Honda next door and took a look, and I fell in love with the CB190R when I saw it. After deliberating for a while, I decided to give up getting the NS200 because 1.) Universal Motor is quite far from my home and the thought of going there for servicing all the time kinda puts me off. 2.) Honda is reputable for its motorcycles as well as abundance of parts both local and overseas (I bought many aftermarket accessories for it from Taobao already!), and Ubi is relatively closer to my home. So after riding it for 1000km, here are some of my thoughts. The first 800km was the running-in period, and I tried my best not to push it too far (beyond 6k rpm). After the first (mineral) oil change, I was able to push it a little harder (the mechanic at Boonsiew say it’s ok to push to 100% after the first oil change). Top speed was rated to be about 122km/h (which in my opinion, is rather modest and somewhat disappointing for a 184cc engine) , based on some initial video reviews found online. 6k rpm at top gear is only about 60+km/h. The highest I went was about 105km/h (for only a brief moment) at about 8k+rpm. Redline is at 9.5k rpm. Midrange to high range acceleration is quite responsive, but moving off from first gear is very sluggish. Not sure if it’s my riding technique or what, but I often get out accelerated by other smaller 2b bikes at the traffic light, only to overtake them later. Engine vibrates quite abit in general, but I guess that’s expected from 2b bikes. Fuel economy seems rather good. There’s no indicators, but based on my mileage and 2x full top ups (Caltex 98) so far, fuel consumption is about 55km/l (during running in period) and 50km/l (mix of running in and normal use). I suspect the FC will go down to about 45km/l once I start speeding along the PIE to and fro work every day, which is still pretty awesome fuel economy. Brakes are very responsive and powerful, thanks to its two big disc brakes and perhaps the fact they are very new. There are times where I felt that I almost get a little fishtail whenever I hit the rear brake suddenly. Suspension is quite good, and I could go 40-50km/h over humps without much butthurt (I normally adopt a half standing position when I go over humps anyway). The dash and instrumentation is very nice, with nice electronic LCD displays. I only wished that there was a gear indicator (there’s an aftermarket accessory for that). I also don’t like the fact that it’s not a conventional handle bar, there is no visible bar in the middle to allow for clamping or mounting of accessories such as dashcam, phone/gps holder etc. My IU was fixed under my left mirror, and I think I will find a phone holder that goes under my right mirror. Another thing I don’t like is the position of the horn. I often accidently flick the horn when turn on/off the signal lights. Maybe it’s just me. The throttle seems to have a long play, making a very large angle from close to fully open throttle. Maybe it’s to discourage riders to open throttle all the way. Seat height is ok for me (but then again, I’m tall) but I wished the seat was a little more narrow. It’s slightly wide for my liking. Pillion seat is very comfortable although a little high. The exhaust is very compact and minimalistic, reducing the likelihood of pillion getting burnt at the legs. However, the exhaust design may have affected the engine performance. I’m looking forward to legal aftermarket exhaust for the CB190R. Front and rear lights are nice and bright but yet not glaring thanks to LED illumination. That’s all for now. I may update again when I reach 5000 km mileage and after changing to fully synthetic engine oil. I welcome any questions or discussions.1 point

You must buy insurance first before going to LTA Sin Ming to apply for transfer of vehicle ownership. To buy insurance, just go to any insurance company (NTUC, AXA, etc) and tell them the plate number of the bike that u want to be insured under your name. Then go to LTA Sin Ming with the current bike owner to perform the transfer of ownership. I've heard from some people no need to have current bike owner present, just need his/her IC will do. Go to http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en.html to find out the cost of the transfer fee. Once done, give the previous owner a ride home since u already took his means of transport. Technically, both of u can ride the bike cos both of u have insurance coverage for the bike. But if got any summons/ traffic violations/road tax expiry, LTA will send the letter to the registered owner. Oh ya, remind the previous owner to cancel his insurance so he can get back the unused portion of his insurance coverage. All this can be done in a day. LTA counter opens till 5pm if i'm not wrong. This only applies if the bike is no longer in hire-purchase. Somehow LTA records will know if the bike is still under hire-purchase from bike shop. Experience this from my current ride which i bought from a private seller. His bike was still in hire-purchase, but i wanted to pay full settlement for him and transfer ownership cos i dun want COI. Went to bike shop to pay in full, bought my insurance and went to LTA on same day. LTA counter said that bike was in still in hire-purchase from shop. Called shop to change the change the status. took the bike shop abt 5 mins to settle the thing online from their side and voila! the bike was mine. Was quite amazed at the efficiency of the whole system!1 point
