I know this is a bit off-topic.

But after reading all 4 pages of this thread, I am reminded of a quote, my old biomechanics lecturer in university once said.

"The LAWS of Physics can NEVER be bent."

sry to come into this tread so late...

i have read somewhere a few pages back that FC on ta200 increased from 33km/l to 44km/l... well... its nothing special. u just didn't maintain ur bike properly...

a well maintained stock phantom ta200 can give u FC of ard 38km/l to 42km/l

how do i know? i had a FX plate ta200 till recently. it can easily hit 37km/l. i kept my bike in stock condition and take very good care of it cos i wanna sell it.

I guess from the responses from both parties, it is quite clear that the seller has no ground or proof and is unwilling to be accountable for the claims he made.

There is nothing I can or will do apart from showing the facts at the present; a proper double blind placebo test at my own expense (I lose money) to prove that the seller (he makes money) claims are false is a lose-win situation for me. Lose that I am paying money for something I won't make money for, and that the seller will still have many other silly bikers that don't read Singapore Bikes forum who will STILL buy the equipment AND still willingly claim that they can "feel" the power increase and use their name as testimonials.

This is the same reason why MLMs and ponzi scams like Sunshine Empire can continue to survive even when there are so much proof against them.

I read page 1 and page 4 of this thread.

In a public forum, the best arguments fly on their own wings, while the harder one tries to push a failing one the more it cannot stand.

I can only hope more people read this thread.

On a side note, and off topic at that. Just needing some quick independent input from knowledgeable electricians but not sure u guys read the battery threads.

A battery charger charges an 8 amphere battery in 8 hours according to the manual. If my batt goes flat due to a failing charging system (rectifier+coil) on the bike, the nearest AC socket at the petrol station will not return me a full charge in 2 or 3 hours. It might actually take longer than 8. Correct?

There's a lot of crap but thankfully some wise words in this thread, such as by ncknight and Strongeagle (as always) This i know is correct.

Its always a pleasure to see sorely inadequate replies to good arguments. Its worth a good laugh over a beer :deal:

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Hello there,

The stator+flywheel combo puts out either 8V or 14V to charge a 6V or 12V battery respectively; you cannot hook up a 240AC mains supply to the battery.

In most cases at bike shops, they will have a step down transformer used specifically for battery charging, and the rate of charging will be determined by the capacity of the transformer; but safe to say that these transformers should be able to charge your battery faster than via on-vehicle stator+flywheel (or in Singaporean terms, dynamo/coil).
