Mine is a 1 yr old spec3 FBA series, recently when on the last gear increasing speed all the way up to ard 6k rpm, i found out tat no response for 1 sec then can pick up the speed again , why ah??? like no oil like tat for tat split second then suddenly throttle a bit more, power regain, and this happpens not frequently. let say 3 out of 10 times only.

 

Is it becasue i go caltex petrol station to wash my bike - the water jet too strong le ,make my spark plug wet then problem occurs ah, Before caltex wash no problem at all but after jet wash problem occurs.

if u suspect plugs, u may wanna inspect them. dirty air filter will oso cause a lag in acceleration.

Worst case is that the VTEC is faulty. But do the simple and easy diagonistics first.

Pull out your spark plug dust and water cap and see if there is accessive water in the sparl plug hole..quite common when you 'jet' washed or hosed.

i dont intend to go to anybike shop to rectified cos i just service my bike in oct 07 only. i had change oil and air filter plus 4 spark plug le, and my problem only occurs let say 3 out of 10 times only. i trying to save money ma .

Most likely could be your spark not tightened properly. Take out your tank and check if plugs are tighten properly or not. If not tighten properly, EO will leak out from the plug hole.

Bike will not have enough power to run properly. Plugs are supposed to be tight and not loose or too tight. Take care.

got it...btw bike already in bike shop...see wat my trusted mech got to say...will be collecting bike tomorrow...hope for the best..haha

i have this type of prolem too, after rpm hit 6K+. you can feel it already. like a pull. First i thought no petrol, but i just pump full so should not be the petrol problem.

got it...plug loose...tighten can oredi..when plug loose there is a bit of engine oil leakage also...

if wash got prob check ur spark plug cables...i had that prob last time...check n check at last discovered my plug cables 'koyak'

Although only happen very seldom i also go listen hotdog advice to go tighten again. Hope this problem never occurs again. thks hotdog.

 

Btw u mention u trusted ur bike to ur trusted mechanic, can i know where and his name pls, iwould like to go there to service also in the future.

have u do sparkplug change? service, , clean airfilter....

 

i have did all these at last yr 24th of october 2007, just call mah motorparts at jalan besar, boss say maybe could be someting stuck at the petrol , he will use someting to blow away the dust, i am going down now to let him have a check. Boss say couldnt be air filter or plug cos i tell him only happen 2 out of 10 times de. boss also agree with me. He also say if plug or air filter got problem it will happpen many times de. not only 2 out of 10 times.

i jsut came back from mah motorparts. Mechanic only use air hose to spray .

 

he twist my key into the petrol hole and open it . then got 1 hole on the left hand side , then he air spray it. so he told me and monitor whether ok a not. N ormally i pump very full petrol until overflow de, i suspect 1 yr of overflow choke inside , hopefully after air spray bike turn up well and wont lag le in acce0raltion0 when reaahed nearly 6K.

 

so hotdog do u normally over fill ur petrol ?

 

i also change my rear brake pad, he give me izumu brand , never heard of it b4? how is it ah $25 only.. he say this japan brand good wont eat the disc brake, so can any brother confirm this???
