Movie Review On 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre : The Beginning'

 

For every sick, demented serial killer, there is always a beginning to how they come to be what they are. The same applies to Leatherface and his cannibalistic, psychotic foster family. This movie explores how a deformed, innocent child grows up to be a crazed killer as a result of being raised by homicidal maniacs. The fact that the kid grows up to work in a slaughterhouse, contributes to his murderous, buthering ways. It really makes you wonder whether serial killers are what they are because of nature or nurture.

 

The plot of the movie is straightforward. Two couples are taking a road trip when they are accosted by a hellrider chick which resulted in their vehicle having an accident. The nightmare for the couples begins when the town's fake sheriff (the head of the psycho clan) detained them after blowing a hole into the biker chick. What's his motive for doing so? For the purpose of playing with them like how a cat would play with a canary, before killing it.

 

There are lots of sadistic, gory, bloody killing scenes that are capable of making you cringe with disgust and horror. Needless to say, since this movie is the beginning, all it takes is common sense to guess its ending. If you are a fan of the serial killer genre that glorifies senseless, bloody killings, then watch this movie. Otherwise, give it a miss...

jus sit back n enjoy e 1hr 45min show. i was @ cathay ( bside ps 1) e seating was good. so no complains hee hee

I think if you and skydude like the movies that has nude scenes, then best to go see the movies showing at Yangzte cinema in Chinatown. The movies there ALL feature nude scenes one. Of course you have to be above 21 years old lah...

Movie Review On 'Crank'

 

What do you do when you are injected with a poison by the name of 'The Beijing Cocktail' and have only an hour to live? For professional hitman, Chev Chilios, played by Jason Statham, he does his damnest to live long enough to wreck vengence to those responsible for his predicament.

 

'Crank' is a fast past action movie that cleverly injects humour to an otherwise depressing situation. Racing against time, Chev manages to leave a trail of destruction as he searches for the antagonist, his rival named Verona and his quest to acquire epinephrine to adrenalize himself so as to counter the effects of the poison. Apparently, should his heart rate drops, he will be dead.

 

There are lots of shooting and explosive action to keep the audience's adrenaline level up. You will cheer the lead character on because despite the enormous odds stacked against him, he still manages to keep his sense of humour. It is hilarious in one scene where Chev had to make passionate love to his girlfriend in public for all to see just to keep his heart rate up. Another scene whereby he played mindgames with Verona, is a gem to watch.

 

Definitely a must see movie if you are a fan of the action, gangster genre...

Bros, I need a favour. If any of you visit the various video shops, can you all keep a lookout for this VCD or DVD title, 'The Last Dragon'? I loved this movie when I was in secondary one in 1985 and I want to keep it in my video collection. The movie is rather cheesy but I loved it nonetheless.
