Hallo everyone,

 

long time no post. Been watching ur all this while.

 

Anyway bro, I have the same experience with u. It is not the wiring problem. After I changed the light bulbs, no more prob already, it have been like nearly 20k since I changed them. till now no prob.

 

So just get them changed. I guess the india side used very cheapo bulbs.

walk around jalan bukit merah there are quite a number of 2nd hand pulsars.

 

 

I changed my gigantic signal lights to a smaller set of KR signal lights.short enough to not interfere with my side boxes... and not so small that it looks rediculous.... like the damned fake carbon fiber signal light that everyone seems to be using for some reason.

 

Sprocket and tires still going strong. maybe i take too much care for my chain and sprocket... waiting for it to wear out before changing... but it takes so long.... tires, good grief, they can last till my bike is a year old it seems.

 

wore out the front brakes in 4 months though. the mechanic uncle tsked me and said i ride the bike too hard. 20 bucks for brake pads is a little steep.

 

I notice a few pulsars with super 4 givi racks. You think those racks are compatible with e21 side boxes and horse shoe racks?

 

Ah yes. i think i've put off welding the hole for far too long. the hole near the header causes the jarring noise that annoys the **** out of me. put a wet cloth over the hole and noise gone.

 

going to go down to UM tmr afternoon and get this done. and sice its a week day gonna go wardrobe shopping @ queensway shopping center. aidilfitri comming.

Went down to my bike shop @ leong seng to install my lights and they have a Ver2.2 outside. didnt ask about the price though, distracted by an RD250LC rusting in a corner.

 

Universal Motors showroom/workshop is also at Jalan Bukit Merah, blk 3. Leong Seng is at blk 2.

wat kind of first hand accounts and tips u looking for?

so far pulsar i seen only gasket leak(common), FC low - tuning prob, starter motor jam/spoilt, meter bracket crack ( happened to me but i added a new holding bracket... will post pics soon), meter LCD got prob(my most left digit when at high speed, will flicker), mechanics using a very hot rating plug (NGK "6" n its not reccomended)... that's about all

 

I think pple mostly are very concern abt FC...

it differs from each person's riding technique, the bike itself and the tuning...

my FC neva really calculate... cos as long it can take me to >600km on the main tank i think is value for $$$ already. Last calculated was 37.7km/L? 631km pumped 16.7L

 

The tank stated on the manual is 15+2Litres but dun believe too much on the manual juz as wat the stated FC was... trust ur own feel and experience... I managed to pump is 19L+ before... and of cos my FC is not 50km/L

Anyway can always meet up i guess u have alot of qns to clarify too regarding pulsars... what to look out for and what to do about it.

if u can down load 1k-2k... might as well get a brand new one.. after down that much u only pay around $100-$130 per mth for 2 years. i down payment around that amount too... cos interest also not that much a couple of hundred only.

 

and secondly, getting a second hand pulsar.. u'll never know how the previous owner do running... u never know 'he' do a hard running in....

Found myself a good deal - Cheap EO by Total S.A. (3rd top global oil company after exxon & shell) @ P.S. Carrefour Basement automobiles section look for

"Total S.A. 4T Racing" for $6. They claim to be "Synthetic based", i'm speculating it's Semi-Syn Blend. Racing 2T selling for $5. Feels much thicker than Maxima, hence better high-rev protection i feel. Fuel consumption so far no difference. 43.7 km/l.

 

 

Typically, my Pulsar starts vibrating at 5k RPM, which is about 62 kmph. Had to buy Fuel Additive to delay the vibration RPM till 80 kmph "Redex Fuel Additive" $6-$7 bought at Mah Motorparts. Feels like increased horsepower, lighter throttle load. Better pickup, better throttle response. Fuel Consumption same.

Bro, from your pic i see that u have bought the 10w40 maxima. Ur UG3 should be using 15w50. It makes a big difference. I have experience it before. There was once i did'nt see properly and bought the 10w40 and poured it in. Immediately I can feel the difference. even though it is new oil but it feels like oil that has been through 2km of usage.

 

Anyway I found a link to an article regarding engine oil. Even though it is written primarily for cars, it is revelant for bikes also. Will put in the link when i find it. Cheers
