How much did you pay for it? I checked the website of a known supplier to BMW cars and found that your E63 is ...

1. vehicle category : pkw coupe

2. manufacturer: BMW

3. model list: 6 (E63)

4. type : 630i

Engine capacity : 200 kW / 272 HP

displacement : 2996 ccm

model year : 07/2007 -

KBA-Nr: 0005AKF

country limitation: (not valid for) CDN, USA

KTYP-No : 25493

motor code

N52B30A

N 53 B 30

I went to the VW showroom with 3 friends yesterday. One of them was looking for something to add on to his range. A practical and reasonably powerful car to compliment his cabriolet coupe and E60. I recommended the scirocco but he went for the Golf Mk6 GTI after some test drives. jB had the privilege of testing it on some stretch. 210hp on a small frame is indeed intoxicating. The fastest car I've driven is still the SLK200 in Germany. The ultimate #2 housewife car but with the 6 speed manual clutch pedalled gearbox. :( Pales in comparison to our jB. I advised that friend to stay away from the DSG7 transmission given the way he deals with his toys. Then, the bomb shell... the open category COE was SGD$19K. Anyway he made the purchase promptly like some cold storage shopping. I am just shocked with the sudden hike in COE prices. It was still rock bottom low beginning of this year. My guess is that you must've splurged something like 270K on your 630i. But on the contrary, what is 19K to 270K. The difference in good and bad COE prices can be a mere 10% to your car price. Yet, it's still money. Really... when will the COE prices decline? :faint:

Yes the price for a new 630i is indeed about $275k.

However with a short attention span, i've learnt my lesson on buying brand new cars.

This 630i is secondhand with fairly low mileage.

I'm no car fanatic and a frugal guy at heart so I dont think I'll ever bear to spend $300k for a car.

Not too convenient to broadcast the price but you know me, as usual full cash settle.

Hate to be bothered with car loans or most loans of any kind generally.

With regards to COE, I dont follow it becos it doesnt make a difference to me.

I hope COE prices dont decline.

It'll keep the roads less congested. heh

My colleague was selling his 3yr old SLK280, pretty cheap, around $120k, ai mai?

Mai... I am a VAG supporter. where's my mum and sis going to sit? It's so bloody low and the boot space is miserable with the roof down.

oh sorry, thot that you were fine with a 2 seater.

nay.. it's fine. You aren't the first to think that a 2 seater suits me. My boss and colleagues also made similar remarks. Except for some ladies who jokingly asked me to get a bus and double up as a lunch driver.:faint:

I reckon an Rx8 would be nice for me if I have a small family, I like the doors. Civic sounds okay too but not Integra, its too straining on my neck when I tried sitting behind myself. A Golf is okay too, the Scirocco(I don't know how to spell the fugly car's name) is fair enough for a family of 4 and not more.

The Scirocco as you've found out feels claustrophobic for the rear seat passengers. It's not for married families. It's more for young executives who cannot afford the more high ended coupes like Z4, S5, E63 all these.

The Golf is still the choice for family use.

yeah, 20inch will be best for aesthetics but ride comfort is also one of my concerns.

19 inch for 6er is best for both form and function, i think.

can you imagine how these rims will look on a 3er.....super swee.....

i think otherwise

if not careful can look bengish.

i need easy to wash type of rims and i want my car to retain the original factory flavor.

i also hate overspending on mods....

so wont change rotors and calipers. using original.

simple and cheap, i'm a frugal person, heh

The OE brakes for the BMW E63 are perfectly fine. The brake balance should suit the performance boundaries of this ferocious beast that tries to look tamed.

That's very important

plus, when you sell the car, you lose the value of the mods. and it is very troublesome to dekit and sell the parts seperately.

I did that for my 3er coupe last time.

dekit M3 mirrors, sachs suspension, gear knob, hb lever, exhaust, etc.....wah damn troublesome. after that car was exported.

u got a point the dekitting part is a troublesome issue.. well since u been thru tht well then retaining e stock look would definately be a gd choice:thumb:

Dekitting sure is troublesome, am looking for a good looking ride next that needs not much add-ons :p

You've driven a number of makes that does not need add on to perform. You can consider those league. But right now, I will suggest that you complete the impending tasks first. Adopt my suggestion to go for an overseas degree instead of a local one.
