The road has in fact none of these lane marking.

I do not have the actual picture.

It looks like this road just infront of these shop houses.

Just to clarify some doubt. I think there a misunderstanding that most readers are linking ramky cleantech services as rubbish truck Services.

It's actually not the case.

The traffic warden task are out-source from LTA to Ramky Cleantech - Enforcement branch.

Just like cisco

oh yeah i forgot. i kept wondering where i heard that name before. i think thats the outsource with the traffic warden that fought with the uber driver.

well regardless....

actually i think now unmarked road without a proper lot makes it all the more tricky because it becomes totally your discretion vs the warden's in terms of whether its obstructing. at least if it was single yellow or something then technically the parking is legal.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Honestly, I think this type of of roads even more "prone to summon" - if any of the shop owners not happy with the car/bikes in front of their shop, any one of them can just call up the authorities to complain, and they will send someone to summon the entire stretch of road.

1st of all,

it wasn't a new rule to be parking parallel to the road.

2nd of all,

kaiq already explained. if its not the shop owners, its the vehicles that will need to use that stretch of road.

3rd, just to clarify what you clarified.

They do estate management, including Cleaning services. Similar to any property management company or Property Management aka like Town Council. That still means they are allowed to summon, wheel clamp and removed any obstruction within their care.

so this type of unmarked road, if got 4/5 bikes together, can park slanted or still need to park parallel is a staright line or not ah?

Liverpool revival has started....

If its not within sight of you. Where you can go and move your bikes.

You park parallel in a straight line.

I think I kinda agree with Viciouskitty, its either you committed the offence or not... Its clear that you did...

I do not understand the fuss about parking in a proper parking lot for motorcycles... if the nearest lot is very far... too bad... you have to walk. but I don't think SSC is that far... I also know that there are bike lots... just need to cross the road... boils down to being lazy...

So if you are lazy, to walk or to park properly, don't blame companies who are doing their jobs and question if they have the right to... simply because you decided to be lazy to park somewhere properly. also feel offended when ppl point out the obvious... that you were not parking properly.

What can you expect when the authorities sub contract 'enforcement traffic duties' to a CLEANING COMPANY?

Obviously , there was some 'link' as to why such company can tender and get this kind of contract. How would staff from such company 'exercise ' their proper discretion in carrying out their duties?

Would REVENUE be in top of their minds?

Your country has gone to the dogs lah, so live with it or QUIT!

Correction.

I don't think such company dealing in such area of work COULD be involved in jobs that need to carry out ENFORCEMENT duties!

Pity that your country has lapse into such disarray!

But of course 70% does not think so.

so live with it or quit!

You can park at the motorcycle lots near the famous white bee hoon stall opposite SSC which I always did or the other open air carpark beside it.Then cross the 2 traffic lights to get to SSC or the makan places there, only take few minutes.

got the letter from LTA regarding the parking offence.

They decide to waive off the summon considering my good record. i guess partly is from the picture of the enforcer I did not cause obstruction.

anyway, if i have know better, i will be more careful at the first place to ensure i am not causing any trouble to others. it has been years since i received any summon. i try to park legally all the time. this round i will say it more on my ignorance.

If your bike plate starts with J then lower chance to get fined. How often do you see these bikes parking illegally? How often do you see them issued with a fine?

Most of these outsourced 'enforcement officers' are from across the border.

The typical.....

Other people also park there mah. Why not summon them? Not fair Not fair!

They bigger, more expensive then mine mah.....Can afford mah.....

If you really cannot afford to park, ride, pay a summon. Do what I do. Walk and take the Public Transport.

Same. That's what I did in my last week in Singapore. Took public transport everywhere. I didn't bother much with my mum's car even though for 3 days I had it at my disposal. The parking and the penalties isn't worth it and I don't want it to spoil my holiday at that time.

I was considering of renting a bike but decided against it, especially when I see less free parking for bikes, not like at least 10 years ago. So much easier to find free parking
