Means variable valves, similar to the Super 4's Vtec system. I just bought my air filter today. Paid $112 for it, from Loois Motor, sorry guys but I bought the last one!

Hi Danielburgess

Were u there at Ah boy last sunday? Thought I saw your bike.

To all, seems like it's hard to get together. Wanna arrange a date and time to meet, share ideas and do up our bikes? At least with afixed date, we can get it going. ANy ideas or suggestions?

Check this thread out. I am creating a club of bikers for bikers. This is for intercultural intergration. Come on in, fellow bikers.

Ya, the red suzuki was mine, you were there too? Black bandit? That did a reverse park at the corner lot? Meet up is a great idea, but try in the evenings or night as most of us here are working office hours!!! :goodluck:

i think it's not expensive..but juz that the market is unfair to suzuki bikes(until the apperance of the newer models like GSX1K the market of newer suzuki is better)...last few mth saw in the net that FP s4 coe2007 selling $1.5k-2k+(without new coe)...so if u r the new buyer ...which do u think u will choose to buy??? i think realistically i will choose s4...better market resale value... but there are some who love something diff tat might pay the price of bandit becos of liking...and pls do not go to bike shop as they will discourage/disappoint u even more

Well there is a con for buying the older version super4, coolant tends to leak at the engine block, and it cost a bomb to replace. (Happen to my colleague's S4, but he plug it up with sealant to stop the coolant leak).

At least bandit engine is more robust and dont have this problem.

I still find that the engine in the Suzuki Bandit is bloody solid! And the engine is built in a way easier to work on then other bikes! :cheer:

Ya I feel bandit is gd n robust too jus bcos its too old parts to spoilt, need replacement. Somtimes on road, some bandit can pick up faster than mine. Dunno bcos of what differences.May i use only semi-sythetic engine oil.

How to improve the power of bandit?go for valve clearance maintence?

As for the coolant, beta check if u feel somthing wrong. Mine got rust and corrode the pipe connecting the hose.Spent a hundred plus repairing it.

Posted

I repaired my pipe too, did it myself and flushed the system out. Cost me about $30. That is the beauty about an old bike. Think of it as those old phased out aircrafts that the air force gave the polys to train their engineers with, learn with the bandit, when I upgrade to class 2, not so :giddy:

Rojoanna, I too going to change EO and oil filter, when you get back, maybe the two of us can go down together to change. I just read the service manual, when changing oil filter, the oil replaced must be 2800ml instead of 2300ml.

Cheers

Wel, that includes me too. Got a whole lot of maintenance work to do. EO, air & oil filter, sparkies, throttle and clutch cables. This month, my rd tax and insurance are also due. Gotta blow some money. Haiiii...

As for the sparkies, just wanna check what are you guys using?

To danielburgess, how's the KNN? U rascal, u got the last one, ain't it.

Check this thread out. I am creating a club of bikers for bikers. This is for intercultural intergration. Come on in, fellow bikers.

Relax, the KNN agent got stock for air filter. I only bought the last one at Loois motor. Honestly, if you are a rookie rider, you will not feel it, but if you are a bit more sensitive, you will find the bike a bit more responsive, and the fuel consumption is better! I got about 10km+ more then before...

Cheers
