Have you tried Guan Hoe at Eunos? Mr Han there does a good job.

As the job will involve removal of the cam-cover, the cost will depend on the spares needed, ie, cam-cover gaskets, o-rings, and yes, maybe even the coolant hose.

Having said that, I was going back on my service records, and I realise that GH only charged me $45 for workmanship for a service that included the following:

a. Valve clearance adjustment

b. Change coolant

c. Oil + filter change

d. Check carb timing and other tasks involved in a standard 5,000 km maintenance schedule (which included splitting the brake pads and cleaning off the dust).

I think GH gives quite good value for money.

anyway guys, i am kinda in a dilemma. bandit v really like mission impossible to find. :(

should i just settle with a bandit p? i have lots of "plans" to do up my bandit, and if it was a V model, something that i like, of cos i don't mind spending. but if i do it up on a P model, later the total cost even higher than comparing to me getting a version s or spec 1.

although posting this reply in this thread sure get biased opinion 1, but still.... any opinions?

I would advise to get the P instead of V. My reasons:

a. The P is a more hard-core mechanical version, and there are more of these machines in Singapore. This means that there will be abundance of spares in scrapyards.

b. The V uses hydraulics to actuate the variable valves. The timing for the valves are through a sensor attached to the tachometer sensor. This means more line-items prone to failure.

c. The P can share some of the parts of the V, such as the stainless-steel exhaust headers of the V, the clip-on handlebars (yes, the indent on the P petrol tank is meant for clip-ons and so is the limited turning radius). Generally, most the the V is similar to P, except for the variable valve mechanism.
