BMW F 800 GS - Parallel Import

Hi All,

Been reading up on the new 800GS, sounds good, price is much better and it's a much simplier machine. I rung PML and they dont get them until december so I thought I'd do a parallel import, anyone know who does this for BMW's?

parallel imports are not covered by the authorised dealer's warranty. it's a long and agonising wait for the bike that you really want but i feel that it is worth it.

That only applies for Japanese imports. BMW, Benz all carry international warranty.

 

As long as it's a BMW, the bike's warranty will be honoured by all authorised BMW dealers in any part of the world.

there's a 'loophole' in international warranty.

if the product is not available in the country market, there's no way the service center can fix it for u too.

unless they're able to ship the parts for u, other concern is if the tec there have been trained to fix it.

 

never owned a 'Branded' bike b4, so i might be wrong.

Might be worth the wait as the Dec 08 batch may most likely be the 2nd production run with most of the issues in the first run sorted out.
