Email to Scores Yellow Ribbon Project:

Dear Sirs,

I was approached and blocked of my path by a young man waving a file under my nose and insist that I hear him out at the underground walkway from the MRT station.

He showed me a letter from a company called Outreach Enterprise & another letter stating that he was discharged recently from Prison. I did not asked, nor did he showed any identification documents that he is indeed the person stated on the letter of discharged.

According to him, he is selling Keychains, in accordance to the Yellow Ribbon Project, and that he is a ex offender. The keychain will cost me S$10/-.

I have so far been unable to understand, why is the Giving a Ex Offender a chance to change, requires them to parade their ex offender's status and that they have to pressure sell keychains to strangers?

And is there any listing I can look thru, to verify that 'Outreach Enterprise' is a company working in tandem with the Prison Services or the Yellow Ribbon Project.

Cheers.

I called the number. The person on the phone confirmed that they are a direct selling company. Not a fund raiser nor is it charity. I questioned them as to why the boy who pissed me off does not have any proper selling skills. She replied to say that she owns a minimart and a handphone shop so has not the time to monitor that boy.

So no. I do not believe that its a aftercare agencies.

Dear Mdm,

Thank you for your email and informing us.

We refer to your encounters with individuals who identified themselves as reformed offenders/volunteers who are touting badges or other handy collaterals. They could also be trying to associate themselves with the Yellow Ribbon Project or the Yellow Ribbon Fund with similar names.

We would like to highlight that we are not currently soliciting donations or selling items on the streets or door-to-door, and we have not authorized any individuals or groups to do so in the public on our behalf.

We are unable to comment at this moment if they are a direct sales company or representing another charity. However, we would like to bring your attention to the next two paragraphs.

Charity organisations who are licensed to solicit funds in public would be granted a Collector's Certificate of Authority from the National Council of Social Service, or a copy of the police permit. If you are approached by an individual or group claiming to be soliciting funds for a charitable purpose, you can seek verification of the fundraiser's identity, and the authentication of the fundraising project by requesting for these documents.

National Environment Agency (NEA) defines the above act of 'selling of items' outside MRT stations and shopping malls without licence as an offence of Illegal Hawking. Enforcement actions will be taken on violators and the public are encouraged to feedback such activities to the relevant authorities.

We hope that this encounter will not discourage you from supporting the work of SCORE and Yellow Ribbon Project, as there are many other deserving ex-offenders who put in their best effort on their rehabilitation journey, and need the community's encouragement and support to successfully re-integrate to society.

Should you require further assistance, please feel free to contact myself at 6214 2852.

Thank you!

Regards,

The wireless equipments and the imacs for the people who dont know how to use imacs are borthering me.

I am the unofficial IT person in the office, with totally no clue how to fix the problems that the imac users have with networking and wireless and server settings.

Its taking up too m uch of my time, doing things not I should be doing. Sigh.

and worse part, that I had to say no to a director regards a task, which I didnt have time for, trying to solve his printer, email settings & forms creations......I got a small private talk by a manager regards to saying no. Sigh. Its not a priority to create a letter to ask for gifts for our christmas party. Its more a problem, when he cannot send out emails to clients! What is wrong with their prioritising????!!!!

in short, if u get it locally & if have the warranty from chiong aik (they are the local dealer for cardo), u can approach chiong aik and they will help u to send it to the manufacturer to repair...

if u got it online or from other forumers & have the warranty card with you, u can approach the manufacturer and ask them for procedure on how to get it repaired...

No job, ran away from previous one because it was horrid. Racist boss, no benefit for the future, pathetic pay so I simply ran.

Next year inspection as well as renew insurance, 2A as well and hopefully a 2A bike, nothing wrong with sticking to my 2B bike, its just that its a problematic old rempit bike, if nothing breaks down out of the blue, its actually cheap but after 2 major accidents and redoing it, valve breaking everytime, brake calipers spoiling, rusty parts snapping, piston seize, leaking brake lines, 2t pump etc...every month surely got something and the fact I give the bike a workout every day doesn't help hahaha...

So must find job, at least dual part time or something till I land a good fulltime job
