Our stock suspension can adjust the hard and soft only ....

Rear Shock Absorber

The rear shock absorbers can be adjusted to one of five positions to

suit riding conditions. Using special tool adjust the required position

you desire. They can be left soft for average road riding condition

but should be adjusted harder for rough road condition.

Shock Absorbers adjusted either too soft or too hard adversely affect

riding comfort and stability.

To adjust the Rear Shock Absorbers

Turn the adjusting sleeve on each shock absorber to the desired

position. The higher the adjuster sleeve is positioned, the stronger

the spring tension, and the harder the ride.

Check to see that both sleeves are turned to the same relative

position.

Note : Std setting is done in 2nd notch

1 strong ... 5 strongest

this is what you are doing when you adjust the suspension..

(apologies if the drawing is not very clear)

edit:i adjusted mine to be harder so that the suspension is compressed lesser when pillioning.. but when you travel alone you will sacrificing a lil of your comfort. anyways SG roads are good with less bumps hence shouldn't be much of an issue..

this is my left and right spark plugs, I just swapped them sides..

btw does it look worn out n needs a change? could u guys help me evaluate cuz i'm not so sure...

it has been only around 5K km's since my last change..

basically spark plug advisable to change around every 10,000km ... your plug condition still looks ok. It's the firing end that we want to see and not the thred area ... hehee

you can check at my profile album to see more as guide .... print out for handy reference

@O'Ren hey...i saw u postin at the gps enquiry thread..have u decided which model u gettin? i saw at challenger they sellin garmin 1250 at $170..if i buy online can get cheaper..but would it be easy download free maps?

Cheaper and waterproof is the zumo 220. Long battery, rugged. Best processor and great investment is the zumo 665. But much more expensive. Still haven't decided. The Tomtom app is good enough for now..

Any Garmin will accept free maps from MFM and MFS.

Most of Garmin GPS maps can be updated free of cost. I own 1350, updated once. If you are buying for bike, then make sure it is water proof. Tom Tom also should be good make, however I am not sure about the updates.

Waterproofness is still a criteria that doesn't hold much weight. I've read many reviews by owners who just ziplock-bag the Garmin and ride through storms.. good enough.

I think for a motorbike a good criteria is the battery life (although most Garmin can be charged while riding), and more importantly the mount : the mount need to allow a permanent fix, so you don't have to pocket your gps everytime you stop for petrol or a drink..

Standard shocks, for me, sucks balls. Too soft, even at max.

I swapped mine out for a pair of bronze makida shocks. Amazingly popular for rxz.

Most of the newest GPSes are touchscreen now. I don;t think manufacturers will go back to buttons, even Garmin is slowly completely changing their models into 1 button only or no buttons models.

The tomtom rider has gotten very bad reviews from bikers, I'd stay away or google it to read more. :)

Looks like it has the most common features.

But do the Indo users say what maps it loads ? What type of files/maps it can load ?

That's actually the important part, once you've shortlisted the hardware.

Most big brands, especially Garmin, will provide either lifetime free upgrades for your maps (mostly for North America/Euro maps though), or cheap upgrades.

But here in S.E.A, because the mapping is not top notch, you have to rely A LOT on users mapping.

So it's crucial to be able to use user modified/enhanced/made maps because they will reflect the reality more accurately.
