any idea if the handguard can be fixed without changing handlebar or drilling, perhaps just using the stock's bolt in exchange? going um tmr after work possibly to fix the handguard..

the stock bolts are too short

even if get the longer ones ah teck also recommend not to use the bolt size is too thin

its spots

but from far it does not look like it

i used the tubing and the translucent plastic to difuse it a bit

and its super duper bright

my signal LED strips only have 6 LEDs per 15cm

this one have 18 LEDs in 15cm(each side length)

@alvinyansg, the new LEDs on your HG are sweeeeeet ! Very well done

You camera charges with a normal USB size plug, not the tiny USB ones ? it's quite big on the photo but maybe it's just the photo..

Since we're on DIY topic, today I sprayed my new saddle bags rack. Because of it, my suspensions got very weird yesterday.. I was about to go UM to have them checked but wanted first to take out the rack to paint it - and I realized on one side it wasn;t screwed in the same way as the other. The suspension wasn't completely centered, I don;t know how to explain. Anyway, I'm hoping this was the cause of the bad suspension work yesterday and that when I mount the rack back it will be alright.

I hate spray painting. I am LOUSY at it. I always get little bubbles, or little dots on the surface. I hate it hate it hate it !!:box::gun::box::gun:

And it's so sloooowwwwww... you have to wait for the primer, wait for the first layer, wait for the second layer, flip the damn thing to do the other side, one layer, second layer.... it's like a patience marathon for me

And then, once all is really dry and I get that lousy result, I have to wait again for the Clear Coat layer to dry (I'll do it tomorrow morning, I just didn't have it in me tonight..).

And of course, the second I'm going to have a bad bungee hook with its plastic cover damaged, it'll scratch the paint off :weep:

The pillion handgrips are the worst for me. No matter how much I sand paper them, I ALWAYS get little bubbles and little dots on the surface. I've been doing them 3 times now since I bought the bike, and it's ALWAYS crap result.

I just hate spray painting. I'd rewire an entire bike from scratch anytime over painting

[End of venting]

If you professional spray painters have any advice, please share..

@alvinyansg hahahahaha i just posted a msg for u! :thumb: up bro! thanks a bunch!

pls post the component list if u have..

bro,

here is the main list of items

the switch get the 3 pin or 4 pin ones

i don't have the signal relay pic

that can be bought at LAB at $6-$7

just tell them signal relay

the connectors either the pink or yellow one also can

just make sure it fits nicely on the relay and switch pins

also do consider getting heat shrink to waterpoof your switch and the conenctors at your switch area since they will be exposed

as for mounting points and way to mount the switch its up to you and your imagination

@dejaxx, additional info, and pics:

Relays have a certain way they need to be wired, and there are all sorts of relays.

So you want the basic one, with 2 pins, here's a pic :

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4099/4826407318_bcc51b5496_z.jpg

You can find it at LAB, just ask for a hazard light relay or auto relay, it's $4-$5 if my memory serves me well.

More photos (their usefulness is debatable) on the DIY Hazard Lights on this photo album : DIY Hazard Lights

Hope it helps, if you have any question you can sms/call me, or if you want I can meet you to help :o

I would've have the wire to tap into isn't near the tank bolt, but rather under the pillion seat, in the Y shaped soft plastic cover that covers a bunch of wires. Looks like a little bottle without a bottom :cheeky:

But then again, mine is tapping into the tail light if I'm not mistaken, maybe yours isn't ?

Yeah I went in got quoted $5, so I came back out and sent another Pulsarian (local) to get mine as well. Can't reminder who it was, but he got it for $4 :D

its not the tail light...

its the signal light wires which is in that bunch of wires

the tail light wires are there also

i traced the wires when i fixed my alarm wire and my box brake lights

its the green and grey connectors you find there

actually you can also tap to the signal wires in the head cowling

also same colour grey and green

but hard to reach there hence the rear signal wires...

oops

read wrongly

i thought you were talking about the signal wires

yes the tail light wires can be tapped for power as well

is really up to personal preference

as long as the circuit has power when you switch on your bike's power

for me i tapped it under the seat which is in front

you can also tap from the ignition switch which is what UG1 & 2s can tap from
