Hey guys,

 

Just had an accident while I was coming back from home from lunch.

At a traffic light I was going straight and it was turning from green to amber, so I decided to cross the light, then suddenly from the opposite side I see a car taking a right turn. I was too fast and although I braked, I hit his rear left side and his car got some bad scratches. My bike is fine and I managed control the bike and stay upright without falling.

 

Both the driver and me exchanged contact details and IC numbers, but I forgot to take his license plate number.

Both of us dont have any witnesses.

 

Please advice what to do next?

Hey bro i also met with and accident a couple of months back so am quite familiar with what to..

1) DO NOT admit your mistakes!!!

2) Insurance will help u settle everything including letting IDAC know about it

3) Since its just scratches u can ask the owner whether to settle it under table anot..

4) If both parties didn't claim, your premium will not go up which will save u lots of money in the near future

guys my pulsar is hard to start my pushstart will not work and always need to choke to kickstart hard then it will start up any idea how to troubleshoot this?

I called up insurance and they told me to report to IDAC within 24 hrs, I am planning to go tomorrow

 

I am actually really thankful to god that I was able to balance the bike and stay upright, if I fell not only bike damage and any rashes on my skin, my wife will know about the accident and permanently ban me from riding .

It was a really hard impact and there are 2 deep and long scratches on his car, caused by my clutch lever and handlebar balancer I guess, but not a single scratch on my bike.

 

I know I should have slowed and I still cant believe that the accident happened. I am normally very watchful, but this place was like I was in the center lane and riding at about 50-60 kms/hr and there were lots of cars on my right and hence I was blinded and couldn't really see the opposite direction until it was too late and same like me the opposite car couldnt see me because of lots of cars on my right until it was too late.

 

But the shocking thing is the place of impact, I hit him at the rear right side(near the petrol cap), I am just wondering, if I couldn't slow down and if I was faster, he would have hit me head on. I wouldn't have been typing all this if that had happened.

 

This incident will make me really more careful on the road.

 

going straight vehicle is always in the right.its the way you write the report.im guessing it was a minor road with no traffic cam to be the 3rd party right?

The self starter switch, you can attempt only 3 times and then you need to switch off and switch on again and then again try 3 times and so on.

 

Check your battery voltage, change your spark plugs, if still no improvement wash carb and tune it.

 

Does your self starter make harsh sound when you press it? In my case my starter used to make harsh noise and I would have to make atleast 3-6 attempts for starting the bike especially when cold. After changing the self starter, no more harsh noise and also 1 press it starts.

 

Pulsar is normally hard to kickstart especially when cold start. Try to get the self start functionality fixed as soon as possible. Kickstart or push start is not a feasible option for the pulsar, unless you really strong

last servicing was early april btw previous owner did told me to get the card service

 

any idea how much does it cost to service the carb?

wat spark plug n heat range u r using now ? .. try check the spark flame to see the plug is in good condition, change e plug if need to do so ... and also spray the plug cap connectors and even the ignition control unit with wd40 or ur favourite lubricant spray to clean the rust or dirt ... mybe dats helps

carb servicing $18 but will need to add another $20 for e diaphrgm for replacement

its ok eventually u will know once u wash ur carb .. find the infamous mech NGAT at UM .. tell him u r from forum

Try clutch in again before u push start, another alternative is after 3 failed attempts off and on the ignition again

Thanks bro.Just went and did a report of the accident and drew the sketch at IDAC kaki bukit. I didnt make any claim against the 3rd party, as there is no damage. I didn't admit any mistake, just mentioned that the light was green for me and this car came in my way while I was going.

 

I haven't contacted the car owner after the incident, if he wants to claim against my insurance there is nothing I can do to stop him, let the insurance company decide what to do. Hopefully, the claim will fail and, if not I wont get NCD and premium also up? Not sure if bike's 3 party premium will go up in case of accident?

 

BTW, do you own pulsar? which version?

I believe there are machines in paint shops that can scan the color from the actual colored surface and then mix and create the exact color. What you can do is take the battery side cover/Air filter side cover to the paint shop and ask them to create that color.
