Thanks bro.Just went and did a report of the accident and drew the sketch at IDAC kaki bukit. I didnt make any claim against the 3rd party, as there is no damage. I didn't admit any mistake, just mentioned that the light was green for me and this car came in my way while I was going.

I haven't contacted the car owner after the incident, if he wants to claim against my insurance there is nothing I can do to stop him, let the insurance company decide what to do. Hopefully, the claim will fail and, if not I wont get NCD and premium also up? Not sure if bike's 3 party premium will go up in case of accident?

BTW, do you own pulsar? which version?

As long as no claim is being process the premium will not go up and NCD will not drop.

Yup i own a Red P180 UG3 :)

such a quiet saturdae nite here...

Hey @robbedzombie, did you find out why your bike lack of power?

My bike too, I feel, is hesitant to climb a slope(bartley via duct) in the 5th gear at 4k rpm.

Is it because I have overgeared too much? My gearing ratio is 16 front 40 rear with 100/80 tyre in the rear.

I get 90km/hr at 6k rpm.

Jackie at UM did a test ride last time and he said some reason the bike lacks power and he opened the diaphragm which was just changed last month and wetted it with petrol.

I told him I have changed the sprockets so that could be the reason.

it was a case of water getting into the tank...went to clean it and pumped new petrol and it was settled.

think u just need to down gear and pump the rpms for power...climbing slopes are really a bother if the sprockets are overgeared(or was it undergeared).

but why did jackie wet the diaphragm did he tell u anytin bout that?

Oh I see. No idea why he wetted it, may to clean it or make it soft. Not sure it is petrol that he used. It was the liquid that they use for cleaning the engine, squeeze the liquid and also the pressurised air.

Open the fuel lid, in the edge you will see a hole, make sure this hole is not blocked. If it is blocked then the rain water will enter the tank. Easiest way to find out whether it is blocked or not, is after your bike standing in rain for sometime, after the rain stops open the fuel lid and see if any water still there in the side. If no water that means you are fine.

why does the hole get clogged? are there any preventive measures from letting it get clogged up?

@revhappy and sorry to hear about your accidents and I'm glad you are both ok.

None of you was wearing gear, were you? :)

Rev, great job on keeping the bike up and controlling it, really amazing, seeing the depth of the scratches it must have been a good hit.. And you didn't lock your wheel while braking, that's great too :)

Maybe you ought to tell your wife about it : it's them who make us more careful by always worrying, she might not ban riding, but she will always keep you on your toes so to speak, and next junction you meet at amber light, you'll stop haha..

I gave up crossing the junctions at amber light. Way too dangerous. Junctions for me are my number one spider senses activator, even more than cabs! Mostly because of the drum brake that takes time to bite, I can't count on the e-break, you were indeed very lucky to not meet the car in the middle of its side !

@aikamai, jacket and knee/shin guards for you, skidding is pretty common, one can walk away from it without any injury if wearing the right gear. How much is the bike damage? Hope you recover quickly without too many bruises :/

@robbedzombie, the car turned in the junction or before the junction, a car coming to the junction like you on another lane decided to swerve into your own lane and stop?

Good reaction and thank God you were able to avoid it. How come you didn't notice it coming to your lane?

Gear up and ride slower please!

Today while pillioning, going down Bukit timah road to clementi road, this car suddenly decides to swerve from the lane it was waiting to turn left, to go straight by swerving into my lane. I wasn't going fast and I had a hunch from far maybe because the driver turned the wheel a bit I don't know, closed my throttle the same time it swerved. Had time to slow down and let it finish it's trajectory into my lane but I horned the Hella-out my horns (lame pun hard to resist).

Being on a straight empty road or lane doesn't mean some moron isn't gonna pull a fast one on us.. Let's just assume the most impossible scenarios and ride like on a mine field, the more I ride the more I realise this is true.

Gear up, slow down, expect something fishy from every road user!
