Ok, I sent a PM to all 4 moderators of the Naked bikes section requesting for the possibility to create a sub forum like the Phantom Knights did, with our own threads in it.

I'll spare you all the lengthy message I wrote to explain our history, track record of activity here on SBF and what we aim to do with this new forum structure to better serve Pulsar riders or future riders on SBF.

 

As to how we'll transfer the info from this thread to the new section if we get our own..

Who here would be available to help create threads and stickies about the most asked topics ?

please read the info on page 1 of this thread...

explains what is different UG 1,2,3 etc...

simply means different versions...

UG 1 & 2 is the earlier versions with combine head light and pilot light in the head fairing with a bulb for tail light...

UG3 and above the pilot lights are separated from the main headlight and have a sharper head fairing with sharp led tail lights...

Shorty, P200 have stock 2 seater whereas the P180 comes with a one piece seat for both passengers.

The exhaust pipe if not modified is usually your best clue to identify a P200.

Program:

 

Meeting at 8:00am at ESSO 50, Woodlands Ave 1

Quick stop in JB to pump petrol

Breakfast in Kota TInggi (TBD)

Ride to Temalah and Desaru to enjoy a day at the beach.

 

Have a picnic, relax, maybe enjoy a dip in the ocean for those who are keen (you can change into your swim gear hidden from sight, don't worry!), or just take it easy in the shade and enjoy the ocean breeze

 

Picnic :

 

We're bringing our own food for the picnic to make it "real" haha..

There will be so far: potato salad, deviled eggs, bread & chicken sausage, and turkey sandwiches. All 100% halal and made with love & care

 

Someone will get tetra pack drinks frozen to stay cool. Bring some too if you can (2-3 will do).

 

You can bring your own food if you have dietary restrictions, or add chips, snacks, or drinks to the party. A couple of us will bring ice, ice packs to keep the food cool until we reach the beach.

 

Don't forget your swimming shorts if the sun is out is will be nice to take a dip !

Frisbee, beach rackets are welcome too, to make out stay at the beach more fun (Post here if you can bring one of those so we don't end up with 5 sets -_-)

 

Trip Info:

 

New riders or new riders to MY are very welcome. We have a few experienced riders on the trip with us who are used to riding in MY and will make sure you enjoy this day. All you'll have to do is follow and take the experience in !

 

What you need to bring :

 

- Passport (+green card if needed) with at least 6 months validity

- White card (if you don't have any, we will give you one at ESSO)

- Water

- Rain gear (Full raincoat)

- Protective riding gear: FF helmet, armored jacket, Knee guards, riding pants or jeans, boots or closed shoes at least

- Spare motorcycle key

- Spare spark plug

- Tools, tyre repair kit, first aid kit: if you don't have those, we should still have enough with what other riders will bring, but think about getting equipped for future rides !

- Picnic & beach stuff !

 

What you need to do :

 

- Rest well and get enough sleep the night before

- Avoid drugs or drinks that will make you anything but in top shape the day of the ride

- Service your bike and make sure all safety checks are done on it

- Let someone know you are going with us

Finally you made the jump haha ! Welcome back

Here, it's all a bit the same, as you have experienced in the past 2 pages haha..

A lot of new faces and names, and some old ones still chilling here.

A few guys here are getting married soon, and we still have as many lurkers as we used to.

BTWO still happening every Wed evening, unless not enough attendance or too lazy to bother setting it up

 

 

1. Sinnob, I think you must have already discussed it with MJ. If you need a free chain to make do until your Sinnob gets here, I can lend you my P200 stck chain (almost brand new, only used it a few 100s km)

 

2. It's normal, happens to all Pulsars after a certain mileage or extensive use or maybe just time: UM changed the ring and sealed mine (ask AhTeck for the grey paste) and it's perfect now.

 

3. Don't know how much but might not be just the cone bearing: the front forks might need an oil change too if you've never done it before. How much mileage does your bike have now ? How old is it again?

 

4. Could be what Rev suggested - UM will sort it out, maybe you can have this done first as major fix, sounds annoying

 

 

 

How come CDI burned ?

For the lights, are those bullet lights ? I have them too on the bike, many times met TP, never got as much as waved at. And they are always ON.

I don't think you need to strip the bike, get some $$, go to UM and do the basics firsts, servicing, cleaning carb, etc..

Then ride a few 1000s km and see how, bit by bit you can bring it back to its past but not lost glory

For the ASK drum brake shoes, need to go to Heng Motors @ Bukit Batok / Clementi (36, Toh Guan Road East #01-33) for $20.

If you can bargain cheaper than $20 all the better (he quoted me $25 at first )

Maybe you can ask here if anyone wants a set, I know @irahc78 was looking for them not sure if he went with something else or not.

Hands down the best drum brake shoe I've tried on the bike. Lasts very very long.

The idea of a sub forum is to have many threads like the phantom group: check them out : Phantom Knights

The good thing with this system is we can make threads for specific topics, for example:

- Sinnob Sprocket - ALL INFO

- Servicing and EO info

- Accessories and mods

- Buy & Sell

- Tutorials (photos or video)

 

Etc.. that would be easier for the members who only come to check in from time to time and do not follow the thread every day.

We would still keep a major thread for us (which would be this one just moved), but we can have other threads too as stickies that we can direct people to when they ask questions..

What do you think ?

 

Will wait for the moderators reply and in any case won't decide on my own, will post here when they say what we can do or not

 

Anyone else with feedback please give it so we see what's the other ideas and suggestions out there.

If yall think it's not worth bothering to try and pull out the info from this thread into multiple little threads, that's fine by me.

I have anyway a hunch that the task will fall unto me so maybe indeed not worth spending time on it.

I just sometimes think we could be more efficient in keeping track of all the info we gathered over the years, because the thread search sucks.
