Hi mobilenerd, I really appreciate your reply. With those things said, would you actually advice me for or against getting a 200 NS as my first bike? Bearing in mind that I'm still a student working part time to earn a little more so that I'm able to ride in the future when I get my 2B license. Would you expect the 200NS to be hard on a working student's wallet or would it be the same with other bike models be it new or old?

Thanks guys for the friendly advice and tips that have been shared so far. :)

I am also waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the 200NS. Power to weight ratio is good as it gives 23+HP for 200cc. The only other 4 stroke 200cc bike that I know of which gives this is the Duke 200 (24+HP). But that machine costs more.

The good thing about the 200NS is that it looks modern, reviews coming out of India seems positive so far and did I say it looks modern??

Whether you own a Bajaj or Yamaha, you will still need monies for the maintenance. FZ16 is also made in India. In fact, most new models now in the market are either made in China, India or Thailand. The transfer of technology is there and unless you have deep pockets, you might want to consider a Spanish or Italian make, but the maintenance cost may be on the higher side.

So decide if you can keep up with the bike payments. If that is not an issue, then go ahead, sit on one after you pass, decide if that machine is for you, then go get one.

yuh, becase as stated, it sounds when theres tension on the upper side of the chain, it will be noisy, it will sound everytime its PULLING. like moving off, expressway cruising, but when let go throttle, it will be butter smoooooooooooooooooooth :D

My previous pulsar had the exact same issue. There was a hauling sound when I am throttling and when I leave throttle no sound. It occurred only in 5th gear and below 6k rpm. Above 6k rpm the engine nosie is so high that the sound couldnt be heard. Turned out to be 5th gear worn out.

Suddenly demand for pulsars has gone down. About 4-5 pulsars for sale in the forums. 1 of them for sale since May. Wonder why? May be because market is flooded with cheap phantoms with COE about to expire for 200-300$ and people prefer renewing them for 5 years for just 1k. So for less than 1.5k you get a 5 year COE bike instead of paying upwards of 3k for same COE pulsar.

for pulsar not yet...

if you want to install, for 180 is $75(1 x large BSC $45 + Eugene workmanship $30) and is permanent cannot remove cause will need to go eugene to staple it under your seat...

180 is 1 x large BSC...

for P200 will need 2 x small BSC + workmanship at eugene...(est $35 x 2 + $30)

up to you if you feel its worth it...

i personally think its too expensive...

Oh thanks for sharing, just wondering is the BSC comfortable ?

Depends on the type of trousers you are wearing. Anything with polyester is slippery. Jeans and corduroy is okay. Comfort level wise is okay. You can feel the air running under your bum a little.

yupz for pulsar...

if its removable maybe still ok...

but its not...

cause for pulsar the front of the seat have the "fork" so more troublesome...

for other bikes without the "fork" like fz16 and S4 can use cover over...

Each bike is different. I think each buyer has a personal preference. We should not get into any comments about which bike is better. Who knows maybe six months from now you may be riding a FZ16 yourself?
