I think i have the same problem.

99 999km.. nv move and cannot reset.. sounds like gotta change the whole meter.. 200+.. omg..

Do you guys do servicing every 3months? and how long do you have to wait for servicing to complete?

bro, which shop you bought and for how much? Your bike meter has gone 1 round already, no choice but to change meter. At UM brand new costs about 200+. All other symptoms that you said are normal, considering your bike already so high mileage.

Its funny huh, that for a country as small as Singapore how come so many bikes do so much mileage. In India if a bike crosses like 30,000kms it is considered too high mileage already and people dont want to buy it second hand kekeke

I tot 99,999 is small number.. i have seen 140,000 on a 7yr old bike.. Its a Phantom..

99,999 from 2008, means about 70km per day everyday.. quite hardcore.. but if the owner maintained it properly.. im sure it will survive..

Now my worry is how to reset meter and a total servicing.. haiz..

YES WE CAN....

BUT....

UM DON'T HAVE THE TOOL...

Mr Johnny or David hope you are reading this...

how come bajaj sole distributor don't even have the tools to do the reset/settings...

Thoughts to consider...

Its that the top only or top and pants?

How much is top and pants?

For $30-40 budget I can recommend the R-tec yellow raincoats. They do keep dry but are thicker. You will sweat in the rain.

Make sure you get the older stock cos the new ones are very thin and won't last long.

Frankly, if it's budget that's holding you back, then i suggest you save up for a Taichi. I went through a few brands and they usually last a few months. My Taichi DrymasterX I bought last year till now still good.

No regrets.

Raincoat at the bottom is Drymaster. Rolled up on top is DrymasterX. Imagine how much bigger are the normal raincoats.

Not that I want to reset the odometer to cheat but just that it is reading 99,999 and thats it.. its kinda saddening..

Im sure if there is any new buyer, he/she will surely know that it is of a certain age/mileage already..

I just wan to see the odometer and see also must be 'song' ma.. :)

Just curious if you have any problem changing to neutral gear when stationary(e.g. waiting at traffic light) too ?

u must rev abit...the revs will free the the engaged gear from its dog clutch and change over smoothly to neutral gear.

Seif,

Yes, I am OK to get it. $30 is OK i guess. May I propose that we do the exchange the next time you are at UM? My office is 5 mins away from there. If you are not able to make it, pick up could be my only issue. my number is 9.4.2.45.9.3.5

Your attention to detail is mind blowing. I noticed it too, but I sneaked it in so that he knows my preference.

First Impressions of the 200NS (I)

by R15 Owner that Hate Pulsar before :D :D :D

1. Engine & Mechanicals:

I used to be a Pulsar-hater, and was surprised to find myself booking the NS. First Impression, There were a few vibes experienced from the handlebars and footpegs at first, but it's really smoothened out post ~150km on odo. Once out on the road, the engine feels smooth and power delivery is linear. The clutch is well weighted, without being tiring in heavy traffic. Running-in this bike is no joke as it pulls effortlessly and you constantly have to keep an eye on the rpms as the super sensitive throttle can have you above 50 kmph in no time, and with just a few millimeters of throttle open.

Bajaj's run-in instructions are crap and won't run-in your engine well. A brand new engine needs moderate throttle inputs so as to provide enough pressure for the piston rings to seat against the cylinder walls. I've been keeping it under 5k rpm with constant varying of throttle and engine braking whenever possible.

Although the engine is smooth, different parts of the bike have started developing vibes - the brake pedal, the grab rails, visor etc. But it is very much tolerable and pretty much disappear once past 4k rpm. Will have to get these checked and tightened during 1st service.

2. Braking:

Brakes took about 50km to offer feel and braking power. The front disk provides decent feel and pretty good retardation. The rear disk doesn't have much feel and I accidentally locked up the rear wheel at slow speeds on two occassions. Overall the braking is reassuring and I'm waiting to see how it fairs at speeds close to and above 100kmph.

3. Ergonomics, Handling, Suspension & Tyres:

Handling is extremely neutral and with the extremely comfortable riding position makes the NS a breeze to ride, both for everyday commuting as well as long stints in the saddle. Although I've ridden my R15 extensively, the handling on the NS felt much more stable and confidence inspiring, especially in bumpy corners.

I use every corner, minor and major, to practice my cornering lines and skills, and the NS leaves a big biggg smile on my face. The tyres are pretty good although being TVS, and are more than adequate for a regular rides. I haven't had the opportunity to try any aggressive cornering, but for the stuff I've done so far, the tyres have held up beautifully.

Suspension is quite stiff, which is expected as I found my bike having been set at the second stiffest setting. Feel and cornering precision is sharp, but will adjust the monoshock to a softer setting in interest of better ride comfort.

The rider's saddle is extremely comfortable. Although the pillion seat is comfy as well, the seat itself is very hard and coupled with the stiff suspension setting, the few pillion riders I've had have complained of minor butt pain.
