Thanks MJ bro, I agree disc brakes are new school so surely they must be better than drum brakes. But, I used to ride phantom and it's rear brakes felt as in effective as our drum brakes. From what I read rear brakes are only used to reduce speed, the front is the one that does the majority of the reducing speed and stopping. From phantom forum I read that it is prone to fishtailing if you jam the rear brake hard. Me too I rarely use the rear brake too much, it's the front brake that is more important for me. Also read in India forums that p220 rear disc brakes is not really that effective, I will share the link sometime

Edit: here is the link where people suggesting not to convert to rear disc brake

http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/16679-pulsar-180-ug4-rear-disc-brake-upgrade.html

reasons why we change quality brake pads for our pulsar .... :)

hmmm .. have you check wat brand P220 using for its RDB and wats 200NS using for its RDB?

Pls check issue no 10 and no 11 http://bikeadvice.in/pulsar-220-dtsi-17-problems-resolutions/

Thats abit too much man!!

At 200km I will have about 4 bars gone..

P180 needle starts moving only after about 250kms, it's not linear. After 250, it's moves fast.

P200, a bit faster I guess but surely not 200kms to 4 bars. Did you do a tank full as in upto the brim?

Hi guys, I wondering if you r able to put thicker tires on the pulsar like maybe the 130mm for front and 150mm for back or something like that?

Cheers

wah soooo big...almost mcm super4 like dat.

i'm very sure u'll full throttle everytime u stop and go and it will take forever to reach speed.

anyway the thickness is just too thick for the rims and clearance i guess...

Thanks. I did some reading, The initial versions of pulsars used to have KBX brand calipers, but later version may be 2009 have a brand called Bybre(parent company is Brembo), which is better. Wondering if UM now sells KBX brand disc calipers or Bybre brand, as I want to change my whole front brake calipers.

Haizz, I wish someone can get the whole front brake caliper assembly from India.

I will be going to Bali next month for vacation, I googled and there is one Bajaj dealer there, but not near the beach area where our hotel is, its in the city area, haha. Any idea how are Indonesia prices compared to Singapore?

UM price for front disc brake caliper assembly is 90$+ labour

India price is 25$.

If Indo price is less than 50$. I guess worth bringing along.

Edit: Found the Indo price list. The price is almost exact 50$ haha

The tyres that are used here are already very grippy/sticky on the road compared to the hard compound tyres in India, so even stock size grippy tyres takes off some speed and increases FC. Oversized tyres will reduce the speed and increase FC even more.

Hahaha primarily yah I really like big tires. A personal preference with no regards to fc and acceleration. Aesthetic purposes. But then again a pulsar has great fc already. Just a passing thought.

Nice :)My previous UG3 also like that about 250 then the 1st bar goes off then 4-5 bars go off rapidly until 4 bars remaining. Those 4 bars remain for sometime until only 2 bars remaining and thats when I top up.

I still havent calculated the full tank mileage for my P200. If I get 600, it would be really nice.

haha, dont worry wont overflow, you can fill until the point where the narrowest cylinderical opening begins from the bottom. Also keep bike in side stand while filling because mainstand will allow to fill more, but when you place your bike on sidestand, after filling, it may overflow.

Just leave enough space for the lid to go in, can already, it doesnt overflow. :)
