Looks like wire mesh. All pulsars have it but it cannot be removed for ug3 and p200, I wonder how you managed to remove it.

depends on your batch of bike...

some ug3s & 200 cannot take out...

some can...

you will see a small guide slot for the mesh...

slot it back there using the guide...

While pulling out the K+N air filter.. I think i pull it altogether.. accidental find..

I left the mesh out and have a ride.. "cik cik ciiiiik" sound stopped.. this may be the cause..

Coz i have fixed the loose exhaust last week.. will need to observe for few more weeks to mark case close..

Your exhaust guard is it rivet or screw? Check and see if it's rivet, may be broken before and dropped inside.

wa.. ok.. that could be a possibility.. coz they fixed it during my 2nd visit to UM and now its loose..

So i need to ask them to remove exhaust and shake it out?

Sound like a job I got to combine with other things to shed off the labour cost?

Maybe like checking brake pads or bleed brake fluid since I have not done these since taking the bike..

Change front wheel cone bearings too..

since stock air filter is made of foam/sponge, once tear n wear occured, it can detoriate and crush into small particles and will suck into the engine, reasons why the wire mesh filter act as a sceondary filter to trap any foreign particles from entering the engine compartment ......

 

If using knn air filter for P200 if u look closely, the wire mesh need to remove since there is a groove slot along the side of the rubber frame to slide along the wire mesh filter slot ....

 

the knn AF will be very tight to fit into the box if the wire mesh remain inside ....

Thanks MJ! After removing the mesh.. the filter will slide right in tightly.. it used to be fitted in tightly with a push from screwing in the cover.. it feels more right to have it slide in nicely..

 

Just to clarify.. i installed the KNN filter with the hole (a space to pull the filter out) positioned at the bottom instead of the top like how you placed it..

Thats quite cool. Btw theres another trick to preventing rust. THIS METHOD comfirm permenent, confrim invisible.. Use lacquer.. Clear lacquer. Of the mirror bolts. Hadlebar nuts, screws.spoke joints. i sprayed months ago... still no rust... Just spray the lacquer and wipe off the unwanter areas affected.... But not on high temp places bah.

Agree with Farhan, better to DIY, and take your own time, very satisfying also UM mechs always busy, usually you wait for so long to get your chance and after you finish you just want to rush off instead of asking them to do this stuff. They like to do mechanical stuff more compared to aesthetic stuff. You dont want them to handle it with greesy dirty hands isnt it

haha spray can only la.. 1 gallon wan to spray where.. haha.. this you can use for door hinge, key holes too.. got it for $14 at Sin Ming Lane.. I will try to get the video on spraying at the mirror joint.. that part very rusty man.. 3 screws.. all corroded badly.. haha Wed BTWO when?

 

haha the spray quite smelly.. need to ride around to dry.. so im not so afraid.. haha..

I also spray it at the header too.. got to be careful not to spray near the engine where its REALLY REALLY hot.. it will evaporate the spray and u will see smoke screen.. haha it happened to me.. not cool.. dame smelly..

 

The Scottoiler is selling for $18 at Motoworld.. I went to enquire last week.. but they only got the refill.. so the spray head gotta source outside.. first few months wan to use washing powder and wax first.. get a taste of traditional washing then use this express method..
