hey guys anyone ever encountered this problem?

i tried to max my mileage by riding past my reserve, and bike died as i think there was no more fuel.

tried to start it and crank lots of times but it won't start, only managed to start via kickstart. will riding it way past reserve cause it to die off and makes it hard to start?

anyone ever encountered this before?:sian: now it makes me scared to push it beyond reserve to max out my mileage haiz.....

not advisable to always ride till reserver or till dry. reason being there will be more air in ur petrol tank which will then go into your carb which will then make things haywire that i duno how to explain. tis scenario is not juz for pulsar but for all vehicles in general.

After turning on reserve, how many kms did you ride? It happened to me one long ago, same as you I wanted to max out on my tank as I used to top up in JB, I had ridden about 50-60 kms after reserve, I think and I had crossed the causeway and on my way to MY immigration on the flyover slope, suddenly my bike died and cannot start. I was **** scared. Then started pushing my bike over the slope and then suddenly hit starter and it started. I was like, Thank God :)

Although on paper usable reserve is 2L, I feel, the max you should push is 1L i.e. 40 kms. Beyond that it is dangerous, may be because while climbing slope petrol goes to one corner of tank and then not enough petrol and it dies or even there could be water at the bottom of your tank due to rains.

I think it is cheaper, but you should go to the right shops, the shops at AGL are all carrot choppers. Also its only few brands that are cheap, the better brands are actually more expensive there. See if you can get Dunlop TT900 100X80 for less than 65$, since Ah Boy in Singapore sells for that price :)

hmm

after reserve i hit about prollly 20 to 30 clicks more until i feel the bike cannot go anymore, and starts choking while throttling and then it died.push start also cannot crank it to start lucky bike got kickstart nvm i guess my bike can only hit 600 max then :cheeky:

In that case, either there is water at the bottom of your tank(unlikely, but possible) or may be there was air gap in the pipe or the dying is not because of lack of petrol, but some other reason.

Surely you should be able to ride 50-80 kms on reserve.

In India, my bro, when he was student and used to ride P180 UG3, he never used to have lot of money and at time he used to always ride on reserve only, fill like 1ltr or 2 ltr of petrol, haha
