guys need to ask,is it the battery issue or starter carbon? my bike cannot crank the pushstart to start the bike. can only kickstart, how to know if its the battery or starter carbon issue?

take a multimeter, check your battery voltage while throttling and when engine not started...

normal voltage should be 12V+ when engine not on...

throttle should be 14V+...

What exactly does their overhaul means ??

May be water in tank or air gap in the petrol pipe. Or may be bike is in reserve? ask him to turn reserve on. also ask him to pull out the petrol pipe to see if petrol is flowing.

 

Since cranking sound appears and he is riding the bike the battery should be ok.

Overhaul means opening the engine and replacing any damaged parts. Mostly yours will be top overhaul like piston, rings , valves, camshaft, cam chain worn out. It should cost around 400-500$.

 

If there is any problem in the gear box, like gears, bearings or conrod then prepare at least 1k for the full overhaul.

omg pulsar can really cost that much? im really afraid sia, coz last time my 2b sportsbike overhaul is only around 500 max, pulsar 180 overhaul 1k? makes me really scared now :cry:

Full overhaul for any 4 stroke bike will be 1k+. Was was exactly changed in your sports bike?

Top overhaul.conrod piston bearings all the internal parts.didnt know 4 stroke so expensive,anyone here overhaul their pulsar before?😯

Yup. Many of us here I think have done once or more. As MJ said many pages before, the definition of overhaul is to replace the wear and tear.

 

As for my experience, I spent slightly over 600 including clutch replacement.

reason why every bike has a manual book to guide the owner for its Periodic Maintenance & Lubrication Chart so that

the owner religiously checked n maintain the bike to last longer

 

its the same like our own body, we need to check either on our own or visits a clinic or dentist regularly to check our teeth, eye, blood pressure, etc to be in good heatlh

Haha, so my theory is correct. Beginning of the month heavy rush at UM because everybody get their salary and so rush to UM to get their bike serviced

 

Best time to go to UM is end of the month.

hmm i guess so,i just wondered why my mileage can never be more,always hanging around 580 to 610 so i tot i could push it beyond the limit to achieve 650 at least:cheeky:

 

Hmm.. I can reach 700km with 17.2litres. Is that normal? Travelling speed on average 80km/h. I also travel more on expressway.

Where did you get it from and for how much?

 

Regarding engine oil leak, you need to locate the exact place. May be just take to to UM to do a check up, since it is a used bike, in case the owner neglected its servicing towards the end of it ownership.

 

May be its not a leak after all, instead chain lube. Or else it may be leaking from o ring from the sprocket cover. Or may be from the EO drain bolt.

 

Worst case it is from the seam where the engine block is attached to the crankcase, in this case it is as good as a top overhaul.

as long as its in between low n high , it will be just fine but no no to above high (full) or empty ....

 

and do check during engine cold and on both tyres touching the ground on flat surface ...

3.5k is a good deal for a 2010 model. UM sells 2008 model for same price. Regarding EO, we usually fill 1.2L which goes a bit above the top mark, but I guess thats ok. The exact amount to fill is 1.15L I guess according to the manual.
