1. 14:1 to 20:1? Simple, it all ends in the Hydrocarbon Chemistry. Calculations of C5 Hydrocarbon base petroluem what humans call it gasoline or petrol in Asia language. A A:F ratio is base on how much air is needed to mix with petrol to create a good combustion range.

 

So in such case, according to the octane levels of each different fuels does it make any diff in the A/F ratio? For pulsar what is the optimum fuel recommended?

 

2. Tuning - I travel for at least 100Km before I tune my A/F ratio by observing the plug there after. This apply on my old scrapped modified Honda CBX 200S. For new bikes fresh from the factory, it alrady has been tune to get the best optimum ratio, avoid personal tuning if not nessary. Carburator tuning and cleaning need some skill to attend to it.

 

This i agree, but for pulsar, not to mention ur CBX200, which plug do u see to confirm the trend of the 4 stages?

 

3. Not all bike have the same A/F ratio, it depands on the engineer who design the engine and determine what is the best combustion ratio of the engine to run. but the range of 14:1 to 20:1 is always apply, even to other types of internal combustion engines like cars and vans(petrol engine only).

 

So to get 14:1 - 20:1, we need the CR. For pulsar what is the CR? yes only petrol engine apply, diesel engines using otto curve which uses compression to ignite.

 

4. You are right worrying about piston overheating, like wise before doing something, think about the problem that can occour and the solution that can compensate the problem. That's why it takes me 2 months to do my home work before I modify my engines. You don't just go to any shop and modify the engine to increase power of save fuel comsumption right. Motorcycle is a rider investment.

 

So what homework have you done, pls explain further? in accordance to No.7 below, no temperature is measured so far, so how do we noe the piston is not overheating? have u open up the block to check? at what temperature does the piston starts to buckle? yes i totally agree the vehicle is an investment... that is y there are so many questions being asked.

 

5. Rules of tumb, modify engine or any other thing need some thinking and homework, don't just think about want to do it. Example, running cost, realibility, engine stress, fuel comsumption, battery consumption, expension and contraction of engine component, temperature and other thing to consider also.

 

Obviously we cant have the best of both worlds, having fuel saved and full power. Since u mention all of the above, can u explain to the bros here how the calculation is done? by trial n error or equipments to aid u in the quest of achieving the perfect mod?

 

6. Piston TDC - Top Dead Center: At the point where the piston is at the higest point of the combustion chamber just few miliseconds before the spark ingites the air fuel mixture which force the piston to move back down again and repeat the cycle.

 

u got it rite bro. its the Top Dead Center. BUT the question is not answered. What is the TDC - in mm or cm? This is considered as the most impt info as to mod the plugs in using other than the recommended plugs, which are longer in length, having a sharp tip, higher CP and CT. If the clearance is not in the recommended %, the piston will suffer over a long period of time.

 

7. Combustion tempurature in the cumbustion chamber can range from 460 to 750 degrees Celcus. But to get accurate reading you need a special device that can measure the temperature in the combustion chamber (device is very expensive, even I can't afford it. hahaha.

 

Since u mentioned the range, so how can u confirm w/o measurement that changing the plug, plug cable will not overhit the range?

 

 

I'm not trying to question ur mods but i think to mod by trial n error is a very risky thing. All bikes are made diff. What is done on urs and nothing happens DOESN'T mean that doing part of it on another bike will give positive results. It's juz like Revtec , stabilizers so on, they have installed the stuff went thru the Dyno to prove the results. Pls pardon me for asking so much if u think that PMing me is better, pls do so. leave the forum to the other who 1 2 arrange for outings and meetings.

I'm not trying to question ur mods but i think to mod by trial n error is a very risky thing. All bikes are made diff. What is done on urs and nothing happens DOESN'T mean that doing part of it on another bike will give positive results. It's juz like Revtec , stabilizers so on, they have installed the stuff went thru the Dyno to prove the results. on 270309, my bike halfway going out.. engine die... fuse also break.. so i kick start.. halfway engine block got sound coming out and bike no power(like no petrol and engine sound like piston going to jam like that). so LL pull to some near HDB block to check.. in the end cant find anything wrong.. LL have to call tow lorry to come..

 

when at UM, jacky attend to mi.. say maybe carb go in water and some wires short circuit. after strip naked my bike when check wiring, some spark came out and started a small small fire that burn my main wires.. Then jacky say ur bike wiring so messy, cut here cut there and most of the wring not done properly(jus tap wire tgt and tape back).. which only got mod alarm, hazard light, volt meter and horn no fuse to protect also (but really the previous owner do up the alarm really messy)..

 

so jacky say need to rewire the Whole Bike..! and have to remove all things including my CAI and votage meter which is not stock beside horn. But he say when he remove the alarm, he donno how to reinstall back, so LL let him do lor..

 

Damage: whole bike wire $95+$15 labour+$30 tow

 

Today jus collected my bike damn stock..! No CAI, volt meter nothing which jacky say don install 1st, let the bike run awhile 1st see anything wrong again.. and the reason y engine got sound is bcoz wire fry so spark plug cable not getting power. Lucky not piston jam if not will cost a bomb.

 

anyway anyone of u guys wan stock connector for ur bike can come find mi.. i have the whole bike connector but wire cant use le..

 

thinking of selling my 2 way alarm to fund some money back from my damage. jobless student here :cry:

best go UM. its d only bajaj pulsar specialist in s'pore. well, if der r others shops dat can service a pulsar (which i duno of) den its gd.

Well somebody asked me question. But you can ask Lindav if you need to know better, he seems to know alot about engines haha. I am now a technican and use to be part time mekanik.
