talk abt exhaust, even if we are allowed to install gpr pipes, wouldnt dat defeat the purpose of fc? i mean the 2 main reason for our gd fc is our twin spak plug n exhaust dts-i right? corect me if im wrong. thnks!

off topic - i went to boon siew for the first time to check out if theres a 400cc enduro bikes there. but to no avail. just realised dat there are little variety of 400cc bikes. but i quickly fell in love wif the varadero 125 2009 model. even though top spd is only 130km/h, it has a v twin engine dat wouldnt let the bike stressed out if u maintain 120-30km/h. well dats my theory anyways. n the fuel tanks capacity is 17 liters + 2.7litres of reserve. my buttock is REAlllyyyyy itchy during dat point of time. AARRGHHHH!!! dis bike is rreeeeeaaallyyy worth to those who doesnt want to take 2a n is especialy keen on touring. dats wat i tot anywayzzz. y doesnt honda invent dat sort of bike for 400cc????????

Dear Fellow Pulsarian,

I can see the enthusiastic in the new generation. All that have been suggested are all been suggested before. But due to lack of manpower and committment, all these ideal have been KIV.

The purpose of BTMO is to allow pulsarian to gather once a month despite their busy schedule. Long ago, pratically we meet up twice a week for chit-chat session and coffee session. Still there are displeased among riders. Request have been made AND BTMO have been setup.

All this while, I as a team leader have been covering from marketing, organiser, medic and attending Pulsar emergency call and so..... Thus i do not have enough time and effort to bring SBT to another level. (Now, u all should understant why i dun like to be called BOSS but prefer public servant)

I really welcome all the help i can get to get this team up to another level.

This BTMO I will explain to u all everything. So please be there

Regards

Nemesis

woots.. i know u r eager to tear the bike apart! but hold ur horses pulsarette! ha.. its a good idea but most of us have standard jobs and schools.. it will b hard to maintain the school due to the manpower needed.. we could invite ppl to our BTMO to show the maintenance stuff.. i tink thr are still admin work to be done also (who is coming, who is showin the lesson, etc etc) and then thr's the actual day itself (logistics, suitable location, ec etc) everyone would need to participate den..

I understand it's easy to talk the talk, not so much to walk the walk. But no worries, I am ready to back my ideas with action if they are found interesting.

Of course everybody has a job or obligations, the bigger a group the more difficult it becomes to organize, specially if we want to accomodate everyone. (Which is impossible).

I think the solution is in not putting everything on Nemesis back when it comes to organizing or Lindavw back when it comes to DIY. We can also be active, not just passive and wait for the post asking us to put our names in.

September BTMO is a good example of what I mean. And from what I read in this thread, there is A LOT of positive spirit, and often members are just worried they will not be up to the task or not do things as well as the "leaders" - I think we can all learn and perfect our participations, and eventually help make this group even more awesome :thumb:

previously there were some discussions about the 200 Fi coming to singapore

but up till now all the 200 in singapore are the carb version

Thanks Alvin for spotting my quaestion and answering - too bad, I would have liked the idea of a 200 Fi :)

ahh i heard p200 is no longer in production?? =(

my tp is in oct 22nd and ive been longing to get a p200 since months ago...

pulsar 180 abit small for me cause i'm 1.86

sobs

Don't worry, you will definitely still be able to get the P200. UM got some stock and like someone said, there are a lot of P200 around to buy second hand. Maybe you want to join the outing on the 12th to meet everyone and see the bike more closely ?

Hey everybody,

i just passed my tp ard 2wks ago and my dad passed on his pulsar 180 to me to ride. This bike is very cool and nice to ride on.I have been reading about this thread for awhile and i would also like to learn more about this bike. I can see that there is a BTMO coming up tis sat and i was thinking that i can join you guys to learnt more about the bike and make many new friends.

Wah, so you'll be a pulsarian by blood line :cheeky: Awesome: "In my family, we've been riding Pulsars for generations.." hahaha :thumb:

Please add your name on the list of the BTMO so the organizers can count heads easily and know what to expect. It will be very nice to meet you that day and talk more about the bike around drinks or food :)

i quickly fell in love wif the varadero 125 2009 model. even though top spd is only 130km/h, it has a v twin engine dat wouldnt let the bike stressed out if u maintain 120-30km/h.

Just saw a BIG Varadero parked in my MSCP. HUGE bike, probably not the 125cc model. Quite cool.

I think if one wants to tour on a regular basis and can afford a class 2A it's best to go for a 400cc in terms of confort. But I understand Pulsars have been to Thailand before, and I've read indian blogs (these guys are true adventurers, i tell you) of Pulsarians hitting the road like nobody's business.. So I intend to put mine to the test and hopefully go tour with you guys this coming 2010 !

About the exhaust pipe: if one wants to change the stock pipe, it needs to come with a certification ? Why ? Anyone care to enlighten me on this subject please (not too familiar yet with how things work in SG) ?

regarding the bike wash,

the week of hari raya, Rudy n gang are closed.. and they reopen on 28 september.. and currently, they have a small issue with manpower.. Due to shortage of manpower, it is advised by them that with roughly 10 bikes, it might take from 10pm onwards to about 2 or 3 am (each bike roughly 1hr 30mins)..

Might i suggest we have the bike wash on 2nd Oct (Friday nite from 10pm) or 3rd Oct (Sat nite from 10pm) or 10th Oct (Oct BTMO, Sat nite from 10pm)? :deal:

Any ideas or suggestions?

Nemesis, ok with bike wash during October BTMO? (i think this might be a good time?)

In any case, we have to book the slots and confirm which bike is goin by hopefully 15 or 16 September.. then we might have a good chance to secure the slot for October :shades:

No it's not. Normally a P180 UG2 should be able to reach 110-115km/h, read that it could go to 125 km/h. And I wouldn't be surprised if members of the SBT here have set up the bar even higher.

But for your case :

1. There is no point in being fixed on the top speed if you want a Pulsar. This bike is made for everything expect achieving high speeds, or maintaining top speed. The main strengh of this bike is its low FC, and the performance it achieves around 70-90km/h. Usually people would suggest a few changes to the tyres/sprockets to enhance the top speed, but it will come at the cost of your pick up speed and your FC.

2. The history of the bike is important: how it was used, maintained, taken care of will affect its performance. From the running in of the engine by the first owner of the bike, to the oil used or the frequency of appropriate servicing will impact the performance and behavior of the bike on the long run. So you might be able to improve the performance of the bike if you look closely to the servicing that needs to be done (I'm not very familiar with that part yet but others here can give you great advices on that).

Most importantly, think about the use you want to make of the bike: if it's for commuting (most of us use it for that) in SG, legally you will rarely go above 95-100 anyway. If you are thinking about traveling a bit with it in MY for example, and would like to ensure a certain top speed, then seek advice with fellow pulsarians here and at the BTMO.

Hope this helps

Hey, thanks for coming back to us :thumb:

I won't have a bike yet by then, but I'll join to chit chat and see how it's done. I'm cool with either Friday or Saturday, as long as it's not decided at the last minute so I can keep the evening free.

it need certificate because if ur pipe been still they can track down the pipe by having road blok n tp pull over....let said dont have certificate everyone can steal ur pipe n there will cause alot of complain their pipe lost..another thing to get the certificate u also need to be approve by LTA n the company u buy the pipe...the cerifiicate have ur name, model n pipe number...if u dont have the certificate it juz like u using illegal pipe...not all bike u can change ur stock to legal street...it depend on your bike...so if gort question u can ask me...so tc...

Do what u want to do,do what u like, don't listen to what people said...u and your bike are bond together n become one heart..let the wind bring u let the gravity bring u..anything is possible it is only between u n ur bike...

Do what u want to do,do what u like, don't listen to what people said...u and your bike are bond together n become one heart..let the wind bring u let the gravity bring u..anything is possible it is only between u n ur bike...

Hey, thanks for coming back to us :thumb:

I won't have a bike yet by then, but I'll join to chit chat and see how it's done. I'm cool with either Friday or Saturday, as long as it's not decided at the last minute so I can keep the evening free.

For sure, it wont be a last-minute-thing cos need to book slots after confirming no of bikes..
