Tell us what you guys meen by fully mod?

The spec is truly huge, but to begin, heres a small run down.

71hp without ram air (on RLR dyno)

NC29 carbs on NC23 ram air system.

Head ported, flowed and wotnot.

O/size exhaust system (Graeme's)

Total loss with starter

One off ally subframe

SES rearsets & clipons

CBR600 front forks with racetech internals, 0.9 springs

CBR600 rear shock with GF linkage

NC29 wheels front & back

520 lightweight race DID chain, talon sprockets ranging from 38-45.

race bodywork with useable spares & extra fuel tank.

some new gaskets, seals and a couple of oil filters.

WOW with disks.

SAdly the above is NOT MY BIKE.... bummer - the above is some S$4125 - id get this if there was any way you could actually race it in SG or Malaisia....

My bike is just an NC23 with G.Frace modded CBR600 suspension. no fairing - still street legal

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii261/kaptontape/sexagain.jpg

I get the idea that its pretty hard to get race stuf in SG/ Malaysia an thia land is petter... no ?

If its difficult to transport my bike over im Might just give it back to G.France and swop it for a fullrace exhorst and rearsets and as manny race parts as i can get for an NC29 - and get at 29 in SG in JULY. (Race fairings - do they sell in SG?). Then try setting up an endurance race and team - care to join in ??

Hey, I saw your post in msportbike.com too. It would be cool to have another joining the MSS. Will you be based in Malaysia or Singapore?

Come on ditch your NC23 for a 2 stroke. Hahas!

Why four strokes when all you need is two?

hi,

bringing the bike here is not a problem! if u r shipping it here in a container,u would have abt 15 days 2 get it inspected by the land transport authority here. best if u could put on race fairings n make yr bike s off road s possible 4 the inspection. they will than tagged yr bike, making re entry in2 singapore after the malaysian races/track without any problem.

the only problem u will face is dat now u have 2 get a transport van or tow yr bike 2 the track.

hope dis helps u out!

cheers,dude!

best thing to do in my opinion is to bring ur race engine, forks, triple clamps, exhaust and accessories.

buy a CBR 400 in singapore(quite cheap), and transfer parts.

yup. couldn't agree more..

NC23 hurricane market rate is ard estimated 1-2k in spore.

NC23's are cheap as hell here, trade yours for as many nice parts as you can get from GF and post the parts and buy an NC23 over here. Pretty much what I did. Bought a cheap one in ok condition, had the engine completely overhauled and spent some time undoing all the years of dodgy cheap fixes that had been done on the bike and then got a box of race parts sent over from my tuner in Aus and had them fitted and the bike dyno'd and tuned locally. There are a few guys in SG who race over in Malaysia on CBR400s and know them quite well.

The problem here is that cars are very expensive and I have never even SEEN a trailer here ANYWHERE. So your bike pretty much has to be road legal (or at least able to get through an inspection once a year!) in order to get it to the track. Currently the only track option is in Malaysia so its through customs/immigration each time which is a pain and then a 30 min ride or so to the track which would be a pain in the ass in the event that a small off rendered your bike unrideable to get back home after.

There is a small new track opening in SG shortly and another full sized track planned for completion apparently around 2010 so the options for track riding do seem to be getting better here.

Couldn't be more correct.

The freighting/ crating alone will cost $1,000 up at least. Slap in the GST and the 12% LTA imposed taxed based on a valued 'Market Value', you'll end up paying more.

2 pence.

Well i get the freight free as this payed by the company shipping me over - but i gota still pay 12 % of the estimated value?... hhhhmmmm. AN whats a GST?? How much is van hire out there boys?? - its a thing weather to go with the 23 - I know mines good (and i like her..) - thus if i bring over i don't have the risk of buying a dog out there - but there is more you can play with on a 29.... hmmm.

Ill be based in SG - i love strokers but im not set up to spanner them all the time just yet..... I do have relatives in Malaysia that are mechanics - i might keep the bike an stuff over there and trailer it to tracks - a hosre box/ enclosed type thing would be excellent....

Zero - its kinda difficult to find regulations and specs for race meets - and to thus figure out what good for a bike or not - any chance you can point me in the right directions. The MSS is only a 5 race event on one track - whats going on wit the rest....??

Right - gotta go pick up a mini van - drive for 3 hours through bank holiday (3day weekend) traffic trying to escape LONDON - grab a mate, throw a race (12bhp)moped in the back - drive 300 miles north to

http://www.cumbriakrc.co.uk/circuit.htm

and race it for three days solid!!!! 10 hours total between 2 - its damn good training - and you go well over the limit often for not too much cash or pain.... talk Anon:cool:

If life's that simple... The rules are pretty grey in this area. Been there done that bro.

IMPORTATION OF VEHICLE FOR RACING ONLY

In general, for a vehicle to be eligible for registration in Singapore, all

vehicles are required to comply with the registration and technical

requirements as set out in the Road Traffic Act and its subsidiary

legislations. In addition, the vehicles will have to be less than 3 years

old in order to be eligible for registration. The relevant taxes and fees

must also be paid and the owner must obtain a valid Certificate of

Entitlement in the relevant vehicle category. You can get more details

from our website at:

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/self_importation_.MainPar.0019.File.tmp/Motorcycle.pdf

However, if the usage of the motorcycle is for the purpose of racing, we

can consider to classify the motorcycle as a racing vehicle. If classified

as a racing vehicle, the motorcycle will be exempted from registration and

will not be allowed to be used on any public roads at all times. In order

to apply for your motorcycle to be considered as a racing vehicle, you

would need to furnish a letter of support from the Singapore Motor Sports

Association (SMSA) on your request. They can be contacted at:-

Might I just add-on that parts here are relatively available in the region. It's not as hard to find parts as compared in the UK. Like in the UK, these bikes are grey imports here, but we have a few problems dealing with parts because of our strong moto culture here. We are not a big lot but compare our numbers in ratio to the country's population, we sure buy a lot of bikes here.

You can even get an RC211V race conversion fairings from TYGA(Racewerks imports them here).

http://tyga-performance.com/tyganc29/frontright.jpg

Race stuffs like suits, helmets, paddock stands, stuffs from PUIG,Rizoma, Velocity Stacks...whatever; we have them all here. Just remember to mingle more with us so that we can help you get the stuffs easily and at a cheaper rate.

GST is "Goods Services Tax".

I would suggest that you call up the Land Transport Authority or Singapore CUstoms to verify this issue.

Interesting...If only I could afford a car here to tow it with :) Do you have a road bike as well? If you are ever going to tow them to PG/Sepang for trackdays and have space let me know! Will gladly throw some money your way for the ride!
