'Hard Break In' is a commonly misunderstood procedure yet easily digestable, as least in theory . :sian:

Now at Race Werks' professionally set up Dynojet Approved Center, you can forgo the myths and legends, and have your brand new machine strapped onto the dyno and commence a controllable and reliable process of getting your new engine 'broken in', and get more power and less wear than the usual easy break in.

Your new motorcycle will be operated in a safe and controlled situation, exempting the below mentioned situations observed: :giddy:

Usual problems, prohibiting a good hard run in on the roads: :(

1) Traffic situational, you might not be able to get the bike up to the required RPM.

2) As above, an unpredicted jam, might cost unnecessary excessive heat build up.

3) As above, traffic may not permit the bike to decel and use its native enigne braking for effective 'scrub in & vaccum' for the piston rings.

4) As a new owner to the spanking clean machine, there is this risk of tolerance that the rider might not be able to full control the motorcycle.

5) As above, the rider, might be too pre-occupied with hitting the correct throttling and staged RPM, instead of concentrating to ride safely in this urban jungle whilst $2.70 racers roam the streets.

6) As the newer machines churned out of the factories, get faster and more powerful, the speed-check gadgets get more 'trigger-happy'.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh184/racewerks/R62008HRI.jpg

It is not advisable to actually do a FULL throttle run on the public roads.

See the graph as example. ( 1st thru 6th gears )

This graph deciphered this fine stallion of a stock 2008 R6. Using the 2nd gear as reference, we can see that at 15770 rpm, 2nd gear, this R6 had broken through the speed of 150kmph. :lovestruck:

That's said...

Paying a small sum for a cherished new bike, coupled in with a few bottles of fresh engine oil and OEM oil filter, for only $100.00.....

yes only $100.00... no senseless revving of your engine, no other excuses or variables.....

And save a dog's life.... :dot:

This dog survived Race Werks' dyno room........ and peed inside it........

Hi guys,

We had received overwhelming responses and questions to this Break In package.

Thanks for your support !!!

I would like to complie some FAQs and hope that I might dismiss some issues regarding these questions.

And yes, I am disclosing 'trade secrets' that had been touted as 'Pro_Tuning' or 'Black Magic'.

1) A shop told me that he can simulate the running in process alike to 500km, at $80.00. Can you do that at the package price with oils? I was also advised to switch to Fully syn after that also.

Norman:

The Break In process that Race Werks is promoting, DOES NOT simulate that. The loaded run and native decell for the new engine on Race Werks' dyno, concentrates on bedding in the piston rings and prevent glazing. This promotes more power, less wear, for the engine, gaining lesser oil consumption and better sealing. We do not need to go to the tech terms for the layman. An engine is just an Air Pump, end of the day. We want the tightest seal since day one.

Dispering myths, a dyno cannot simulate mileage of 500km within a ranged run, say 50km . E.g, an usual bike, has a mileage of 300km on a 16litres tank, $30 for a full tank. No way an dyno operator can charge $80 for such a run in with at least $50 budgeted for a real 500km run, not mentioning unless you would want a new bike running at 180kmph at the top gear just to hit mileage, which is indeed senseless.

After the hard run, we would suggest and actually use mineral oil, to assist the customer to run in , his transmission without much due concern for his RPM and loads, and of cos, enjoy his new ride.

Yes, the mesh or syncro gearbox of 5s or 6s , still need to be run in for better meshing. Therefore, we would not recommend any synthetic oils for that.

And yes I am always learning, no right , no wrong, but I need to share to learn more !!!

Race Werks' decision, then, to purchase a Dynojet 250i dynamometer, were to keep in tact with the newest bikes and developments.

I, and William, then were baffled by a request to from a customer, who needed me to diagnose a problem, that came only from 200kmph onwards.....

(okie, we did that and solved that... 'private road'...)

Nevertheless, that's then, today, Race Werks is more than ready to handle such requests. We still learn from well-informed customers, who r in their own rights, 'Gurus' for that particular makes. And humble we has always been, we still share and discuss tech issue.

2) Did that dog really peed inside the dyno room?

YES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

3) Can I make an appointment for tuning, and get my bike within the sitpulated schedule? How come you mentioned that it might be postponed? Are u arrogant in such sense becos business is already good for Race Werks?

Norman:

Yes or No......

As much as I wanted to increase revenue for the business. I would only concentrate on the appointed bike at one time. For calibration and maintainence, is always scheduled at intervals, I would not want to run and tune a bike at this interval, therefore the staggered appointments.

If the appointed date, is a rainy day, the appointment for tuning will be postponed, thus you might not get your bike up and ready within the schedule. Although Race Werks's Dyno room was set up to the tune of more than 6 digits, we still cannot change nature's laws.

Sorry I may have attitude problems at times, but my faith and integrity will still follow whilst tuning any machines from a 1950s vintage to today's scary bikes... thus the firm decision not to tune engines during foul or bad weathers.

As much as I've learnt and portrayed. I feel that sharing is a good intuition, to encourage competitors and consumers to this beneficial progress of biking.

4) Do you do base runs and hard break in during lousy weather? how about giving me a free dyno printout of my bike, as opposed to the others during hard break in? They told me they dun do RPM tracking cos it's going to be more expensive? How come u can do? U lelong har?

Yes, Race Werks can work these dyno jobs out during such seasons. As the self compensating OEM ECU still works out such variables, althou through only a narrow pre-programed selective parameters. Thus IT IS ADVISED TO GET A POWER COMMANDER to fine tune and help the ECU to provide the most efficient feeding to your engine whether stocked or loaded with goodies!!

No, I do RPM tracking becos I need datas for stock runs, maybe i too free, with William and my team helping me out, I have that extra 5mins to provide the RPM tracking.

I need the RPM tracking to tab RPM limits braking, this is to prevent over revving, esp. new engine.......yes the 2008 yammie tacho still told tall tales....

With RPM tracking, I can get response time of power delivery, and most importantly, the Torque graph. As they always said, Torque wins Races, not Horsepower. Auxillary calculations from my newest Winpep software also tab, Gear Ratios, Gear Mean Transfer, Stacked Shift, etc.

I just helped a customer decided on between Fazer 1 2008 & R6 2008. Nope I didn't get any commission from that. But I did gained the 1st level of trust from him, with a fine range of calculations gathered from over the bikes that Race Werks had done, and my passion toward these new improvements. I got a firm confirmation of PC3 with tuning from that gentleman. The 2nd guy, is still itching with overload of these datas.

It is not the dyno/datas that sells, whether for profits or for passions, it is the faithful interpretions of these datas that helps.... Thus the FOC printout, help the new owner to decide wat he want to tinker with his new ride.

hope tis all will help................
