It's not waterproof. It has a silicone condom (comes with purchase) plus I put it in a pouch (not waterproof also), so I do wonder how long it will take before water gets in. It was still drizzling on my way back.

Heyy all HOV coaches! Thanks and great to have you guys volunteering to share! Not only you supply the Walkie-Talkies, the Venue, the presentation and organisation, you guys even carry on in the rain! KUDOS to you ALL! Personally, although I am already practising these techniques, I must admit I get lazy over time.. and this session serves as a refresher to reinforce the need to be "on the ball" everytime I am on the road.. a new thing I take away from this session and enlightened will be the the "Cocoon" theory!

Many time accidents also happen when we panic if we are caught by surprises (becos we are not prepared, not anticipating etc), we do things instinctively like grapping the brakes and locking the wheels, target fixating etc.. if we improve our HOV, we give ourselves TIME.. time to anticipate, time to react..

I really enjoyed this session and I hope more riders will take time to attend this event to learn and share (where else can you find great guys and gals like these?).

Thanks guys and keep it up!

Overall it was a great experience.

Many thanks for the efforts put in by the organizers.

Learnt a few tips here and there.

The suggestion that someone brought up during the discussion on recording some rides with the riders talking through the hazards as he identifies them should be considered.

Glad to have all participant's attendance at the event yesterday. All the best in your riding career, and be safe :thumb: :cheers:

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

We are never too experienced to learn!! :dot:

Definitely! so much to learn! And Practice.

can consider, although my cam prob cant capture as much details as normal eyes. also not as clear as i would like it to be.

perhaps can try voice editing/ pinpointing hazards. so far our videos mainly focus on how to react and solo hazards, not so much of literally pointing out subsequent hazards, 1 by 1.

it's a good suggestion coz new riders may not be able to catch on with the videos thus far.

Thanks for the defensive tips, and I also like the suggestion of using the handphone to record rides.

Where do you guys get the pouch and the stitching done for your handphone video recording devices?

we need more! http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237725

stitching done by mum! arh boh my sewing skills from last time ns, cmi la.

Hi,

I wonder if the practical would be better if the instructor rides pillion but comments like he's riding... that way he can just turn around if he wants to monitor the students or gesture.. and let the riding to his partner. Of cos if can video and debrief would be ideal..

We actually tried that before. But the pillions tended to "switch off" because they were not riding. We then decided that our current small convoys of 2 to 3 bikes was better since each participant would have to apply HOV while operating their bikes at the same time.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

ahh...must be something I said....

duh...the shop which sells me the bike....fits a s4 batt which is bigger than a fz6 batt...remove the batt cover, shifted the airbox forward....

rectifier need to be changed...batt is not charging...

starter motor carbon need to changed....due to overcranking...

anyway BIG THANKS to The Beast, Endlessloop and Pplater for your help...

heh heh... before I go grumble more....

time for some constructive suggestion.

imho...The best and safest way to practice HOV is with those ride simulator you can find in the riding centre.

what you can do with the facilities you have...

An exercise session - A first person view video riding record....how many possible hazard one is able to spot... then a review what are the possible hazard...and then what are the possible action(s) to take......

which you guys have in your presentation....however...I feel it is not enough....

try to have as many different scenario as possible...the idea is to help us to know all sorts of things can happen on the road....

eg.... a particular day, I spotted a dog on the side of the first lane on BKE....first thing I noticed is the vehicle in front of me brake for nothing on the first lane.... instinct kicks in... slow down and check side and rear....slow down some more as I spotted the dog and passed it.....filter left and call 999 to let the police do something about it...

This idea (in bold italic) is worth looking into... endlessloop, Pplater, s4^dreamer and the rest of the HOV team.. what do you guys think?

JackOHJack and lutein can record their rides for this purpose. Open for discussion. :thumb::thumb:

 it's kind of a dilemma, coz like i said e other time, every time i put on the cam, i hope i dun bump into some idiotic things!:faint:

what we get, we show. what we dun get, is what we dun get. :cheeky:

haben been uploading my vids for a while, playing with a more power editor, see if i can draw on my vids, then can pinpoint hazards, one by one..
