bro, for me i got a original stanley instead of the "cheong" one. u know why?

its the quality difference.

would u wana spend 160 on a "cheong" headlight and sometime later, the clear lens turns from clear to yellowish???

or u wana spend a bit more for a original stanley headlight and have no worries of it turning yellowish?

get wat i mean?

From what biting point told me(i also realised after he pointed out) the beam is more scattered unlike those from stanley and dot which is more concentrate. try finding a "chiong" spec III headlight and compare it. :shades:

the above 2 place have.

price abt 160 i think.

LAB i tink is selling $70-80. motoworld is $160 but still cheong 1. It's CMD nt stanley. Rather get LAB if nt get the orginal 1.

For wat i know , the cheong one the lense is using "plastic coating" to hav the clear effect. The real 1 is realli made of glass which is nicely focuse to produce a concentrated beam.

the real one? u mean the Stanley brand? the lens is also plastic.

i confirm my statement cos i DIY remove the clear lens of my Stanley headlight.

to clear some "light", haha..

i used the CMD ones and the OEM Stanley ones before.. thanks to Gangster! sorry for what happen also..

ok, now.. lets start from the OEM SPEC 1 headlights..

the "throw" for the light is well dispersed but because of the frosted lens(translucent)

so no matter what type of bulb you used, there's not much used..

had tried HID and normal bulbs on my OEM Spec1 headlights.. HID is of cuz much brighter and can light up with a good throw..

Secondly is the "CMD" marked "SPEC3" headlight (so called "chiong" one)

light compared to Spec1 one was brighter, as it's clear lens.. (HID)

but the throw of the light is very dispersed, light was thrown everywhere..

causing glare to road users..

Thirdly is the OEM Spec3 headlights..

Still on HID, the lightings are till similar, using my eyes to judge..

but the difference was the throw of the lights, it's very much more concentrated..

because of the concentrated throw, HID effect was not glare that much..

Conclusions:

1. Price differences btw shops and whether it's inclusive of the installation..

i think i'm one of the first few to install the chiong one, paid abt $120 w/o installation..

OEM Stanley one should be abt $180 or so w/o installation.

2. Quality differences btw the two headlights.. the chiong one had a weaker and thinner bracket mount for the reflector..

i broke mine while fixing the headlights..

also chiong ones does not comes with wire stay for the mass load of wires you are supposed to keep nicely into the

headlight in order to clip and close headlight with the reflector..

try to get the two with normal bulbs or both HID to compare.. and open up to see the quality..

i hope i did clear the air here..

this plastic coating will peel off after sometime... :giddy:

i had seen it on quite a few bikes already, tat makes me wana get the Stanley headlight. :thumb:
