you can check with limbat...he may have a solution u require..ie all the elecrical hardware including connectors and 12 v socket...not too sure what is actually u need??? cigarette socket or a plug /connector..?he definitely can advise u.

standard type round type plug as found in motor bike..can make..other specialised connector i dont have any tools to do that.

u buy waht u need and i can only help u to install it..

Ok i got my marine 12v socket already... I just need to install in... I can get cable lug from my company for the connection to the 12v socket....

But since I wanna make it detachable I now thinking which connector show I use... So its somethings like supply get from headlight then to removable connector than to 12v socket...

So when I wanna use it I just connect the female and male connector together and use...

Hope you get what I mean... connectors sure can easily get from sim lim but about the clamping tools I dont wanna get 1 just for just this project...

how about this write up..feasible??? just connect wires..

This guide explains how to add hazard lights to a series II/IIA land rover, the wiring should also work for a series III, but the locations of some electrical components will be different.

I assume you have a basic knowledge of working with electronics and are capable of noticing if somthing is wrong, or changing these instructions to suit your vehicle. I will not take any responsibility if your Land Rover catches fire, explodes or turns into a car.

Unless you KNOW the circuit you're working on is dead, disconnect the battery before playing around with things! If the wiring doesn't match what you expect, a multimeter (voltmeter, ohmeter) is a very useful tool for finding out what has been done.

This wiring diagram shows how my hazard lights and indicators are wired up, it may be helpful as a reference while you are working.

You will need the following parts:

Hazard flasher (also known as a hazard relay), this should be rated for 4x21W bulbs

Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) switch

Some 8A wire

Appropriate terminals (generally female spade and male bullet)

All of these parts can be bought from Halfords, Maplin, etc

First thing to do is find your indicator flasher, this is normally behind the dash panel, there are several variants. Mine is a metal cylinder screwed to the bulkhead. Once you have located the flasher, disconnect the wire that goes to the supply and cut the terminal off. Crimp the wire into a new terminal along with an extra wire to power the hazard light circuit and reconnect the indicator flasher. An alternative is to connect the hazard flasher to the supply wire using a piggyback connector.

Run the wire you just added to wherever you want to fit the hazard flasher and connect it to the appropriate terminal, for negative earth vehicles this will be the battery terminal, if your vehicle is positive earth you may need to connect the flasher up backwards.

Find somewhere to fit the switch and run a wire from the other terminal on the hazard flasher to it. Connect the hazard flasher to one side of both "switches" by crimping a wire for the second terminal into the first terminal, or by using a piggyback connector.

Now look behind the dash panel for a pair of 4-way connectors, these should be connected to the rear/front indicators and the indicator switch. Run a wire from each of these to the remaining terminals on the switch. If the bullet connectors you have are too small to fit the connector blocks, use a pair of pliers to crimp one of the terminals slightly smaller.

Assuming all is well, you should now have working indicators and hazard lights. The indicator supply is normally connected to the top fuse in the fuse box, this is only powered while the ignition is turned on. So you may wish to find the indicator wire and connect it to the bottom fuse so the hazards work while the ignition is turned off.

TEST THAT THE INDICATORS/HAZARDS WORK CORRECTLY BEFORE YOU DRIVE ANYWHERE! It is also a good idea to test them after the first few drives, I first fitted my hazard switch so that the terminals were wedged against the demister pipe, which caused the hazard lights to work intermittently.

i have a circular crimping tool ..manual for wire size 10 to 32 awg..nothing fancy..just like a wire stripper just that instead of knife edge it is blunt..hope this is suitable

we need electronics xpert ...iwas thinking off a auto signal turn off..

can we just add a timer to the circuit to switch off/cut off power to the flasher to do job?

hey circuit expert need help???? can u help??

hazard lights anyone?.....also need some one with soldering skill...if there is any interest in this may start one diy on this...item needed for diy

Hazard light... just need to get a blinker relay (able to support 4x15w blub, or whatever wattage your signal bulbs are), wires and switch. Can't recall the wiring at the moment, but it's nothing complicated.

yeah...simple enough to do it...u know the cost of electro parts required?

how about organising diy?? do u have any idea the price for the parts..?

help neede to figure out parts costs..

the part list:

A) fuse 10amp and holder

B) flasher (4x21w or 4x15w)

c)double pole switch..single pole also can.

Fuse not necessary, coz there's no additional tapping from battery.

Blinker relay is like $5, or thereabout, from LAB (I bought it a couple of years back!)... Probably easier to get volume discount if buying in bulk...

For switch, DPST is required. This is to keep the left/right signal circuits separated when the hazard light switch is not engaged. Otherwise, you'll be left with hazard light function only, no more normal signaling!

my parts list is based on this circuit... wiring url. http://www.solemnwarning.net/images/hazard-lights.png..

lets estimate dpst is $5...

plus wires, solder, shrink tube...$5..

think $13 to $15...per hazard lights is doable..could be leesser..:cheeky:

if u guys want to do it..post here..minimum 5 interested ..i will get the ball rolling..

Sound so fun but 3pm is when I check into airport flying off to Perth! Can someone video the DIY session and share to a library or something liddat? So maybe I can follow to fix up for my? That'll be good for further newbies like myself! Can?:p

Don't do it to others what you don't want others to do to you! God bless!
