ok me and my guys going to for holiday to KL..and we decided to drive since me and one of my friend have class 3..

so the question now is what car do u guys think we should rent for the trip?

1)im looking for gd FC since its a long trip

2)spacious interior n comfort for driver n passenger

3)have to be saloon car cos me and my friend not into hatchback or mpv.and i guess saloon is the best to drive tru north-south highway rite?

4)reliable engine is a must cos we dont want car to breakdown in the middle of northsouth highway.lol

btw me and my friend narrow down to 2 cars

he chose mazda3 which i think its on the high FC side but im fine with the car if he want it.

i chose mits lancer but he said the technology is old but he dun mind too.

what does u guys think of the above cars?

so guys any other cars model for suggestion pls bring it up..thanks,,,

hey guys thanks for the suggestions and opinion...the reason y i dun choose mpv cos theres only 4 of us going..mpv is 7 seater and its kinda waste cos usually mpv will cost ard 30-40 bucks more than normal saloon...maybe i should consider honda airwave too since i know theres a place rent airwave...

You need to know a few things when planning on a self-drive holiday to KL.

- Does your friend have enough driving experience ? Driving on the NSH is quite different. Driving in KL city is a total different animal. During peak hours, it is faster to use the LRT, or walk especially in the Bukit Bintang shopping areas.

- Do you have enough knowledge of the KL roads ? A GPS would help.

Otherwise, take a coach to KL, and use the LRT and taxi to move around in KL.

About renting cars, go only to proper car rental companies. Typically, only 1.6l cars are allowed into Malaysia, and there is a surcharge of 30%. However, for 2.0l and above, this surcharge does not apply. From my experience, the most economical is the Toyota Corolla, and the worst is the Subaru TS. Since it's going to be a 4 hr drive, don't go cheap, and suffer. I would suggest a Civic 1.8 or Camry.

I'll say any well maintained saloon car tat don't fails u along e way will b gd enuff...

U can even try renting from JB which my few frens did a few yrs ago...

It's much cheaper renting a Malaysian car than a S'pore one...

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

but if u rent from malaysia, be careful of some companies who will try to suck money when u return the car. they will say that all the scratch and dents are caused by u. so best is bring camera along and point out to them the defects to them. juz a tip to cover ur ass.
