SBF Official "Where to park" Guide

That's because developers are supposed to pay a development charge for the use of land. Building owners pay the DC based on the number of parking spaces they have planned. Thus to put more parking spaces that mandated, they have to pay to provide that parking space.

When they didn't pay the DC for the space, they have not paid the government for the use of it as a parking space (common areas don't count), and thus they can be viewed as scamming the government.

Now you know why many building owners don't draw parking spaces for bikes - because if they charge motorcyclists for parking, a lot of them prefer not to pay and park elsewhere. Then simply, if you don't want to pay, they'll just use the land for other more revenue productive uses.

got ur point. but thing i dont understand is... it has been fine for so many years. why only now... *shrugs* oh well... just the way the cookie crumbles i guess...

All strategy to make more $$$..... If give free parking for bike, where got meaning? If bikers park at Vivo, they collect money, if bikers park at pavement, government collect money, if bikers park at lot with no/expired coupon, government oso collect money. Win-win for them all... U, me, uncle rider, apek rider, aunty rider, pakcik rider, pai kah rider all lose.....:(

haha. off-topic a bit. i think those premas are really hated.

just saw this car drive into the carpark next to my flat which was full. i recognise the guy; lives a few storeys above me. he drove in, saw a premas guy walking around, stopped beside him and said "u better not f**king summon me i tell u. i pay season parking for this carpark yet last week i come back late, no parking lot, i park at yellow line u all still summon me." followed by more loud commotion... before the premas guy just quietly rode off. LOL. quite hilarious.

most probably is caused by some drivers which complaining about bikes parking beside their cars which made them to get in and out of their car a problem

Also saw many bikes when I was there at abt 0815hrs. They shud be those working around that area but cant believe they wud pay at least $6/day assuming parked for 8hrs.

I got out & parked on pavement beside my ofc building instead...

So anyone knows of a sheltered parking place in that area?

i was smoking at the carpark at the rubbish bin there, then saw this guy with a canon shirt on, assuming he's working there, saw him rode off then came back. i wonder why? is it every 3 hrs he go out and come in again so as to save on the hourly charge..

i guess so.hai.... ppl wna work oso cannot have a peace of mind when wrking in vivo. harbourfront center banned bikes frm goin into their carpark tho the barrier is short. hopefully the offce building next to harbourfront can allow bikes to park for free:thumb: :dozed:
