..yep! ..I asked the same too! On my previousVirago, R/R mounted next to the exhaust collector. Shifted it to the passenger foot peg, exposed and cooled better on the move.

so after relocating, is there an increase of lifespan on the rectifier?

Actually its kinda of like super4 in the early years. the newer vtecs also have their rectifier relocated & last much longer

Exactly like those Version S SUper 4s!! think the RVFs also had similar probs too....

looks like we need to do a relocation exercise soon....

Bro MoMo, what makes u want to change the brakes when your bike is still SO NEW??? tot its alreadi much better than the Carb-models Tmax with single disc??? haha, well, like they say, the 1st step to improving the Power/Performance of yr vehicle, is to start with the BRAKES! to ensure that the bike can stop in time after increasing its POWER :giddy:

i am thinking of reloacting it to the front fairing just like the SUPER4 spec2, much cooler space, u can ask ur regular mechanic to do it, its a simple mod for them.

Anyway have u gone to hongleong for the recall on ur bike? If not they should send u a letter soon

:giddy: i realise the relays, rectifier are above the exhaust......... will do some improvement work soon. Will relocate all those critical components to a cooler place

but your titanium won't cause much heat also ma.... to me, if its yours original exhaust, maybe u will need to relocate.

IMHO, 1.5 Cents worth:

when a bike has such powerful & immediate braking (when brakediscs & hoses are changed to high-performance ones), it might possibly have a negative impact. Cos the entire bike performs as a Whole, not by individual parts. imagine your brakes are all changed to high-performance ones, and 1 fine day when something happens and u need to JAM BRAKES, and many of us (ME) over-react, jam on the brakes and the tires cant take that hard braking (unless yr bike has ABS), what will happen is that yr tires will jus lose its grip and starts to Slide, and if your handlebars are not held straight firmly, thats likely when a Low-side wil occur....

my personal view is that unless we ride high performance Race/track bikes, that require such precision braking, and the bike's suspension setup and tires can take it, and the rider really pushes the bike to its full limits, then only will we need such performance braking parts... but matter of fact is, do we ride like this most of the time (99% of the time we dont)

other than that, its just that we bought into the "marketing techniques" of these Performance-parts Companies, or thatwe have too much money to spend, or many-a-times its just some rich people tryin to 'show-off'....

jus sharing an opinion from some of the old-fellas that i'd heard b4. hope i dun offend anyone here... if i did, u guys can just take it that i'm a poor fella, no $$$, cant afford these stuff, thats why believed in this theory..

Cheers

oh bro,no offence taken,i totally understand wad u mean,u tink la,say u r touring at 180km/hr on the NSH (me going to kl constant speed on the BLACKMAX),at that speed,u see an accident up front, with stock brakes u might need a longer brake distance n for that speed n distance,ur brakes may heat up to over the heat limit n fade, but when changed,u require a shorter braking distance,n the discs can take higher temp,y not?ifts life,n u mentioned e-braking..ya,ebrake u also take some distance to stop, with the discs,u stop faster with shorter distance n less power,of course wad dangers u mentioned can happen on stock brakes too,to change is just to be just in case...i tink it all beats down to how u are used to the bike n how u handle it,if u can make do with the stock brakes,y not?even better,no nid to waste money, for me i dun like to let such minor things endanger my life,u nv know when sumthing may occur (Choy, biker knows la)..better be safe than sorry, anyways,it makes the bike look sportier also, btw i dun earn anything frm the shops!!!

Kaoz... 180kph on the TMax? Uncle n@kan0 old liaoz, balls shrink already, dun dare to do that kind of speed anymore.... haha, think i'd rather do that kind of speed using the FJR... well, i think the TMax is more for 140 plus/minus on the NSH...
