Hi all, my first post on this forum, and specifically because i have purchased the indian version of the FZ150i. Sold here as the R15. Here are some pics for those unfamiliar with the bike.

 

This bike does come with fuel injection, and produces about 17 PS of power. I have ridden her for about 160 kms atm, and am enjoying every bit of it. Only problem till now is the headlight is pretty weak, and so is the horn. lol.

 

I am looking at a performance exhaust/air intake for this bike, and other mods that anyone must have tried out on their bikes. So suggestions/advice please.

 

Also has anyone tried modified ECU or anything to extract more power from this engine?

First of all.... HOLY ****!!!!! NICE BIKE!!!!

 

Anyway this is not the indian version of FZ150i... the indian version is not a "ferring" bike... There is such a model YZF R-15. I guess its the little brother to YZF R-125....

 

HOWEVER it does have the same engine as the FZ150i... the only difference is the gear is bored to have 6 gears instead of Fz's 5. I may be wrong coz this is information i garnered online and we all know reliability of the net sometimes....

 

But what ever it is... CONGRATS on your bike purchase... now we have more choice in getting the Yammy 150 series... Naked (FZ 150i) and Racing (YZF R-15). Im excited!

 

Now that these bikes are here CAN have more PARTS TO MOD!!!! Cant wait to change my exhaust.... Hopefully...

Hm, in all shops is it a must to buy 2nd party insurance? I just want 3rd party insurance. I've really got not much time to go down to the bike shops to ask to quote as I'm busy with work. Anyone roughly knows? 19 year old, P-plate, 3rd party for FZ150i?

 

Sigh, long way more before owning one.

 

Yo bro... i was informed by a friend that for a brand new bike 2nd party IS a must... it is only subsequently that you can change( or was it after you clear your payments...) experienced brudders (and sisters if there is) please confirm this information...

 

Just to share the INSURANCE for P-PLATE for someone 10 years older was $600 by AXA (2nd party)....

Thanks for your prompt reply Streetwise... The salesman told me $6100 all in plus 2nd party insurance but not include of int 5%. Not sure if got any hidden cost.. As for the $150 if i'm not mistaken for processing fee because of fresh 2b licence holder and he nvr mention of IU.. Forgot to ask bout the warranty wise..

 

well, suggest u inquire a few shops before deciding the bike shop to buy from. As mentioned, there is Chong Aik, AS Phoon, Bukit Batok Speedway, etc. Just be careful of hidden costs. Some may quote low price but exclude things like GST...which can work out to quite a sum.

ya conferm. if u buy a bike, new or 2nd hand, by installment then 2nd party is must. to cover theft mah.... if u pay full cash den up to u to choose wat insurance party.

Already ask from AS Phoon but they qouted me much more expensive then Mah Motoring... Both shop px already include GST and IU.. AS Phoon ins cover by AXA bout $900+ while Mah Motoring form NTUC/AXA only $500+... 2nd party.

Ok people... just to share with you what happened to me yesterday....

 

Was riding on my way home back from work... around 6 in the evening... all of the sudden after i changed to highest gear my clutch lever went loose... inside my head SIAO LIAO something wrong... was in a fix wat to do.... tried using engine break and slowly changing gears till finally the bike went *POOT* couldn't put to neutral in time when i reach traffic light.... i was like damn... But anyway it was good lah... at least never get into accident...

 

So i stopped by the roadside... pull up the bike up the kerb n CONFIRM my clutch got problem but donno what... spent a good close half an hour figuring what happened and what to do... well im a noob... Meanwhile i frantically called up every biker i know... asking what to do...

 

For some "LUCKY" reasons NO one was able to assist me and some did not answer my calls... in the end a close friend who happens to be driving nearby came over and helped me... He even brought me to a nearby Motor Tiam... i tot problem solved... skali....

 

ALL THE SHOPS THERE DONT HAVE FZ150i CLUTCH CABLE!!!!!! Wah liao!!!!!! I really feel like i want to cry man!

 

Anyway i went back to bike scene(parked my bike at a carpark lot put coupon as advised from a Warden who was at the place when i came back) and went home STRESSED LIKE DONNO WAT! My first wife lei... wat to do...

 

Later that night parents came home from Malaysia... and made me SMILE SO BROAD. A CLUTCH CABLE for my BIKE!!!! Den do self installation... wah liew took about 20-30 mins... den go rounding2 check...

 

Thank GOD! Finally ok liao!

 

Lesson learnt.

1) ALWAYS LUBE your CABLES... i didnt know about this... mine rust that is why it snapped...

2) Get a spare CABLE as it is good to have it around... imagine if it happened LATE at night... thats it...

3) Always have your phone ON or be ready to pick up your phone in case your friend calls coz it may be an emergency!!!

 

But tHen.... things happens for a reason... coz sometimes we forget that

 

4) We should treasure our FAMILY and FRIENDS. A true friend will always be there when u need them and of course what better to have with you in times of need other than your FAMILIES. Blood is always thicker than water....

Take note, changing clutch lever to after market also play's a part. I used to intalled shorties lever onto my RXZ, snap 3 times while riding. I would advised not to change your clutch lever to the "fancy/colourful/stylo milo" ones. Use original and genuine parts. Lesser headache.

u nvr beep oso... haha. hmmmm nxt off day is dis wed i tink. qte tired werk must wake sooooo early.

 

neway dis bike top up is ard $17 or $18 litres. cn go 400km plus but indicator veri low (lower den red zone) ard 380/ 390 km. depends how much u ride. mine can go up to 2 weeks sometimes if i dun ride everyday. fz150i is new bike so u ride like racer oso wont feel the fuel consumption diff much. oldest plate i saw was fbc

obviously fz150 la.... xr 125 cost a bomb but dont deliver.. neway i tink u jus keep ur sp till coe expire. so u have 1 "fast" bike n 1 "relek" bike.. i forget machine price but u standby 6k for a brand new all in fz150

I have been eyeing this bike for quite some time now. Just not enough money to pay full cash. Anyway, let's say next year i turn 21, roughly how much less 2nd party insurance do i have to pay compared to if i get the bike now? Thanks.
