Arcfire: Yup, the big ones are M8s

Bigcow: They look the same, but the design is slightly different... the rivets are "3-stage" types, as in the inner portion is not removable, so you just have to depress and the rivet can be removed.

For the old design of the OEM rivet, you have to push the centre pin all the way in (sometimes all the way through) to remove the rivet... this often results in breakage or the centre pin getting lost.

But I also dunno if the Honda ones are even better in design... any pictures of it? :p

Bro, how did you get past the shipping address on the website? There's no Singapore found the the list of countries. Did you get them to ship internationally?

How much did everything cost?

Bro, I used VPostUSA for the shipping, all in all the shipping costed USD 5.00 + SGD 22 bucks.

I also got a oil/air separator, so the SGD shipping was shared between 2 items. Probably check with you how you fixed yours up...

the honda ones are definitely more tough

Bigcow do u have p/n for the honda clips?if can fit i might be ordering.

Anyone has a blue prints view of the 'plastic flap' that cover the petrol tank cap. It just pop up and refuse to be press down. Think the catch is spoilt.

try pushing ur flap down harder until the catch clip into place. Mine use to be good til i replace the whole fairing. that catch can easily replaced and should not be too ex also.

Remove the fuel lip catch as show by MaIkEr's pictures. Thank for the tips.

I then dismantle the fuel lip catch, easily done. There are 3 plastics parts without the metal spring. Think rusted into small pieces.

I then bring the part down Sungei road to get the spring, manage to get it a Kelatan lane, block 20 , corner hardware shop. Just find any spring which is longer than the stem of the plastic part. Cost 20 cents. Make sure that the spring is stainless steel.

Reassemble the 4 parts and it work very well.

Thank MaIkEr for the tips.

anyone located their IU in the glove compartment , any problems with the erp detecting it ?

never a prob. but locate it in your right side glove compartment. cos thats where most of the shopping centers and other buildings the IU reader is going to point at.

You might need to trim your IU a bit.

But the way, right side is neater as it is nearer to the battery. Shorter cable.

How much did you paid to relocate the IU? Or you did it yourself? Do you need to drill a hole at the bottom of the right side to pass the wire through?

After you place your IU into the right pocket, how do you secure the IU? Bolts or just wedge it with paper?

Any pictures for reference?

i see.... the bad thing abt silverwing is that it is just too common.... what's yr take on the majesty, bigcow?

also do you forsee any new models for SW? as this current one is from 06?

current silerwing '08 is still the same model same look. from '02 till now still same. guess new facelift coming in this 2 years. they've to keep up to the thrend also ma!

majesty? which cc u looking at? 400cc? its even uncommon. if u using for local ride only, suggest u go for the old 250cc. very good FC and spares very much available. and best part, its not ex.

U might need to remove the IU transparent cover and trim the edges a bit. Then slot the IU into the pocket.

Fits just nice.

Thank ClementChng and ah_huats for the pointers.

If no drilling is required, that mean the IU's wire will be protruding from the right hand cover. Will the wire prevent the cover from closing shut?

drill a hole at the bottom corner of the right glove compartment for the wire to go down.

as for the IU, remove the cover via removing the 2 pins. then u got to file off the 2 protruding plastics which was use to hole the cover.

then your IU can sit nicely inside.

i saw this sales le...but not interested in red color...might be considering SW if cannot find a suitable burgman. :cheeky:

Btw compare SW wif burgman, wats ur personnal opinion? :giddy:

wat u looking for in getting a scoot? since u said u no time to tour le..... and wat speeds u normally ride? currently the best scooter in the 400cc cat is the Honda Silverwing Euro 400. underseat storage quite reasonable, can store 2 helmets. only cons i can think of the the pick up & slight lousy FC of abt 20 - 22km/hr on city riding. at touring, will be worst. but this bike's engine is superb and reliable.
